The Kinect is a hell of a lot of fun and I am excited to see how it gets used. From the looks of it with the augmented stuff they're letting developers do the controller + Kinect stuff which is were it could get really exciting.

Very uninspiring, Microsoft. Where is the exciting new software? Every impressive title they showed was multiplatform, save for Gears of War 3. Still, 360 consoles are selling like hotcakes, so they must be doing something right.

I say eff the exclusives... isn't about time we all hugged and got along?

I'm with you Benza... my Kinect has been gathering way too much dust and I would love to see more games/software coming out for it.

guest lecturer at my course last night showed us some kinect based advertising, an ad that uses facial recognition, there is a little girl with autism on screen and she never looks at you... was cool... anyway he reckons in the next six months a lot of stuff will be coming out that uses kinect (actual kinect, not just the same technology). microsoft have done well.

Microsoft probably didnt show many gamer games because they dont need to. They'll get all multi platform games, and 99% of the time they will sell best on the Xbox 360. Its sad to say, but they can literally ride out the rest of this generation quite happily without doing anything in that field.

Based on the last year and this, the push is clearly on taking hold of the casual market, integrate Kinect into their games, and turning the 360 into a multimedia system integral to lounge rooms.

It sucks for people who really want to see tons of new gamer games from Microsoft, but I cant see next year being any different.

Pretty boring. The only unexpected news really was Minecraft coming to 360, and apparently as an exclusive. That is pretty damn cool for 360 owners.

EDIT: Actually, I didn't expect two Halo games, either, so I guess that's pretty awesome as well. A little overkill for my taste, but still good.

I can't seem to find any info of the kinect stuff. I'm interested because the core games outside of gears 3, don't interest me.

I don't have a X360, nor would I buy Kinect for myself at this stage.. but I really like how accessible Kinect makes gaming. There's no controller, no buttons to push.. so anyone from ages 2 and 3 upwards can get into the gaming without any need to understand which buttons to push or how to hold the controller etc.

Watching those Disneyland Adventures and Sesame Street demos really showed this aspect off well. If I had kids, I'd definitely prefer the Kinect over the Wii or PS-Move.

Yeah, that analyst guy they interviewed on gametrailers (forgotten his name), he was saying that while it wasn't really a good show for the typical 20-30yr old 360 gamer type of person, it was great from the perspective that Microsoft need to be showing investors that they're broadening the brand's appeal to a larger audience.
