Cool, thanks for that
Was worried that my carry-over save bonus would be nil if there was no 360 version (played XIII on 360 as I didn't have a PS3 at the time). Seeing as XIII is so cheap, I might grab a copy for the PS3 anyway and play through it again before the sequel comes out

Don't say things like that! I'm trying to avoid wanting a 3D TV _________________

Seeing how Sony is pushing 3D I wouldnt be surprised. I am in market looking for TV and only for these two games i might buy a 3D TV. For me it would be dollar well spend. _________________ Play-Asia Affiliate Link For Gaming Bargain

To be honest, I wasn't a big fan of Final Fantasy XIII personally. It just seemed a bit more restrictive and less open ended than previous titles, which is saying something considering the series isn't really known for its open endedness.
If this game can expand upon the potential that was already there in the original game while rectifying some of the problems it had (more sidequests, more expansive areas, more dialogue and puzzle solving etc) it should be a good play.
It would be nice if it didn't overly recycle maps either - last time SE made a -2 FF game, most of the locations were simply ripped verbatim from FFX. It seemed more like an expansion pack than a sequel in my opinion. _________________

FFXIII funfact
During the development of Final Fantasy XIII, some cuts had to be made. One of them unfortunately was Lightning’s very own home which, although appeared in a cutscene, was supposed to be navigable by the player during gameplay. Square-Enix claims that it was removed due to “storage issues” but the artwork has survived showing the full inside and out layout. I doubt it will make it into XIII-2 unfortunately.

To make that truly her home, there should be a Lightning shower scene. _________________

Its been a while, but Square-Enix have finally released some new (and in-game) screenshots of FFXIII-2! This also marks the confirmation of two new playable characters, Noel and Serah! Enjoy:
A new synopsis of the game's plot was also released:
| Quote: | | Set a few years after Lightning and the others saved Cocoon, some survivors have decided to start over by rebuilding on Gran Pulse. Lightning, however, is nowhere to be found and thought dead by many, but Serah believes otherwise. When her town is suddenly overrun by monsters, a mysterious man named Noel appears to save her. Together, the two set off to find Lightning…” |
The current word is that FFXIII-2 is going to have a big presence from Square-Enix at E3. I'm looking forward to seeing what they have to show us! _________________

I for one is glad they kept the battle system and is looking forward to see what tweaks they have added.
Regardless what negative comments I've read about the system, I find it the most versatile system I've ever played. It caters for those who aren't adapt to the fast-paced-menu-driven system as well as those who push the limits. There are so many hidden features in the system that really amazed me during my gameplay.
For instance, most people uses auto-battle just for AI picked commands. I use it often to switch target so my AI companions follow suit instead of wasting a turn. _________________ 「貧乳はステータスだ!希少価値だ!」 - 泉 こなた

Can't wait for this, I like the new aesthetic changes to the battle system, so pretty. Now can we see more of Lightnings thighs? _________________

I actually liked the linearity, kept you more involved in the story, which is a plus for me. But of course, you cannot please everyone lol. _________________

I'll be able to look past the boring combat system from XIII if they've tweaked it to make it more interesting here, and if they put all the side activities back in, as well as open the game world up a bit more. Seriously, in XIII you go to a freaking theme park, and all they do is give you some chocobo finding mini game, which you can't even go back to. In VII there was a theme park/casino, and it had so much stuff there, things like the Chocobo racing and that snowboarding minigame and some other awesome stuff... one of the biggest problems with XIII is it didn't have any of that. I have faith, though, because X-2 had a lot more of that kind of stuff than X did.

I'm all for mini-games, but only if they suit the game. I mean, could you really picture the characters of FFXIII going snowboarding? They could definitely bring back Chocobo racing though, and some form of card/coin game. I'd like that. _________________
