I learnt a new word today.
Mate at work said he was thinking of becoming a Luthier.
I was like "I didn't even know you were religious."

There was an almost 30-year gap between my paternal grandparents. He was a WW1 vet, in fact. _________________ Twitter | XBL: Tamaaya | PSN: stormo | GameCentre/Steam: StorminNorman

There's 5 years difference between my boyfriend and I.
I think the line should be drawn at 15, though. That's a bit too much. _________________

According to experienced journalist Dean Takahashi in his preview for Warhammer 40k: Space Marine, the games world and such is a clear rip off of halo and gears of war.
This made my day because that is hilarious. Guy clearly needs to get his priorities right. _________________

Is that the same guy that wrote the article going on about how fighting games aren't worth shit? _________________

Here is an editted extract from a group email a mate sent out.
| Quote: | To kill off any rumours before they really get going, i have resigned from my position. The introduction of a few certain policies fly in the face of my own personal beliefs so from a moral perspective i felt it necessary to resign....
...beyond that i have accepted a new role as night manager of McDonalds from August onwards. No denying it IS a step backwards, in terms of career progression, but my decision to tattoo my throat has ment that future opportunities would be fairly limited anyway. So its more of a take what you can get deal... but i understood the consequences of my actions prior to that decision so i am comfortable with it. |

My yearly performance review, I am extremely super happy.
Half-yearly one - I was a let-down, had potential that isn't shown, "slipping away", I was hired to be one of the best (because of my test result during recruitment) but had not shown it.
Yearly one - improved so much since last review I have became the best graduate developer.

GOOD THINGS TODAY
- Girl at work forgot to put the radio on for nearly the entire day, which allowed me to work free of rubbish music.
- I pooped at work. A big 'ol poop. Pooping at work is friggen sweet.
- Im going to go pick up a vindaloo and garlic naan for dinner. Fuck yeah.
BAD THINGS TODAY
- One of the fans in my computer tower has a high pitched whistle and OH MY FUCKING GOD IT DRIVES ME SO FUCKING MENTAL.
Considering that bad really ain't all that bad, and I got to poop at work, I consider today a good day. _________________

I had a performance review the other day... actually I caught wind that it was coming up so I obtained a copy of the performance review sheets myself and filled out a review of my manager.
So when my manager took me aside for the big meeting and told me how much she hated me, I placed my own performance review on the table and told her how much I hated her. Was great.
(My manager and I are pretty much at war with each other) _________________ http://bencadphotography.com/

Now what you need to do is give it to her manager as well!
I had a similar situation at work a couple of years ago, and now I have pretty much circumvented him (used to be 2IC) into the Office Manager's position. _________________ Now Playing: Borderlands, HOMM5, Mass Effect.

Received my final HELP/HECS statement today with a big fat 0 as the balance.
Feeling quite good about it so I've duly celebrated with a few whiskey's when I got home. Time to play some LA Noire as there's no better time to judge people than after a few drinks! _________________

One of the girls at TAFE was talking about the new dresses she'd just bought with one of the other girls. At one point in the conversation, she said - and this is a direct quote (with a straight face) "I love velvet dresses. I could just stroke myself all night". It took a fair bit of willpower not to laugh. _________________

That's great! I hope mine clears itself up this year too. I could do bloody well do with an effective payrise.

The correct response was: "I could stroke you all night too". That's right folks, all that training with Leisure Suit Larry pays dividends in the end! _________________

Oh man, classic. I probably wouldn't have had the same self-control to stay silent as you did. _________________

Bowling. I have intense bowling cravings.
Anyway, I saw one of my good mates again, at his party. It was actually such a good night.
He's got a lift. (don't worry, he thinks it's excessive) _________________

Shopped at EB yesterday, the disc was in pretty bad condition (and confirmed when it 1) wouldn't install on the 360 hdd + 2) play off the disc). Returned it first thing this morning for a full refund, which i was very surprised was allowed instantly (have heard of many horror stories where the staff blame it on the customer first.... when it could just as easily be 1) the staff handling the discs, 2) the way EB stores the discs, 3) the game disc having been EB-Rented 9047340297423904 times before a genuine customer buys it).
Spent the money on more MS Points at Harvey Norman (buy the time i bank it, transfer it into paypal, the price reduction on fishpond over the last week would probably end completely).
Also have since seen the game in question that was $89.95 down to $69.90, for $35 - $49 at the usual online sites i normally import from anyway.
It's win win win for me, hence why i've posted this in the smile thread.

My Dad just pulled out a few boxes containing our old Commodore 64 computer and games. Forget floppy discs, we've got a stack of games here on cassette! Ghostbusters, Pitfall, Impossible Mission, 3D Tanx, Beach-Head and more. So.much.nostalgia! After 27 years, the Commodore still works, too! We even have the receipt, it cost us $470 back in the day, haha. We're looking at selling off the lot, so if anyone is interested, let me know. _________________

I got to fiddle with an Xperia Play today, someone came in to sell one. Will come back with a charger, they're actually trading it in towards Blackberry Torch.
In regards to the device, they actually feel quite sturdy, moreso than the PSP Go. I'm pretty surprised to be honest. Also the gamepad is a good size and it doesn't feel cramped at all, granted I have stubby fingers but still pretty nifty device.

Dad called me over because the movie he was attemtping to watch on his laptop was running slowly. So I take a look at it, and it turns out he's running:
Firefox
Internet Explorer x3
Opera browser
iTunes
5 Windows Explorer windows
Outlook Express
All at once. Looking at the Task Manager, CPU usage was at 100%. And he's trying to watch a movie. So I'm like "there's you problem" and closed 5 different things. The movie then started running normally, shocking nobody. _________________
