You can either buy a domestic hachi and spend thousands of dollars trying to make it into a Trueno, or you can buy the real thing. Unfortunately, every AE86 in Japan has been thrashed by 18 year old kids emulating Takumi from Initial D. So finding the real thing is a pain.

^^^ actually i was looking at car sales and one guy has the limited edition 'black edition' ae86. it's mint man, like perfect check out carsales. he is asking abour $30 000 though. i would like one, but they all get thrashed especially the ones here in aus

That would be this one:
Apparently its the holy grail of all the hachi models and goes for roughly 22 000 euros, so 30 000 AU would be right. The only difference is the paint job, gold badges and some interior differences. Only 400 were produced.
I checked a Japanese import auction site recently, and Panda Trueno's straight out of Initial D were selling for roughly 8K (not counting import and other taxes). On average, 15k will get you one that's already been imported to Australia.

I wouldn't mind a road bike if I lived in the city, the amount of riders I see just coasting through a traffic jam makes me truly jealous of them. Not to mention how much fun they'd be to ride.
