Yeah, the first DLC is already up, called Troll Trouble. You have to register your game online to be able to access any DLC though. (which only took all of 10 seconds anyway). The synopsis says it offers as much as 90 minutes of gameplay where "Geralt encounters a sentient but flawed beast and must decide its fate while dealing with pressures from perhaps more sentient but also more flawed humans."
EDIT: Also, I wanted to mention this. Anyone else who started the game find the message from the developers a bit strange? Both games are quite immersive, so it was a little odd having a text message with CDP thanking you for playing the game. Though I guess you could say it takes you no more out of the experience than tutorial messages etc which remind you you're playing a game. But still, I thought it was worth bringing up as it sort of surprised me when it popped up. _________________

Just a quick heads up for ATI card users. If you're unable to launch the game, set it to windowed mode in the config. I just figured this out and it's a known issue that CDP are waiting on AMD to fix. Only affects a few cards. Bit annoying but eh. _________________

This game maxed is jaw dropping. Don't have ubersampling on though, haven't actually tried to use it.
Only just got to chapter 1. Yeah umm..I'm not sleeping.
Also hard mode is actually hard. Have to really know what you're doing. It's awesome.
And yeah, doesn't do Eyefinity. _________________

Ubersampling is future card stuff that 99.9% of setups will not be able to use at high resolutions. Unless you've got an insane beast of a system and dont mind the performance hit, its best to default it off.
Super/ubersampling is the future, but that future is not quite now. It kills modern hardware a bit too much.
Also I dont have my copy yet and that makes me sad. I dont even think it's been shipped. _________________

Im still playing through the first game, want to finish that off before I play this one. But I installed it and loaded it just to see how it looked, skipping cutscenes etc. Looks very pretty.
One thing i noticed, I start it twice and chose a different option in the opening dialogue and it seemed I started in a completely different scene both times. Quite cool. I did read there are 4 different begginings and 16 different endings :S _________________ XBL/PSN/Steam: BenC82

Yeah it's not possible to run it. 20-25 fps, just tried, and that's running the most powerful card on the planet too with an OC'd 2600k.
It's incredible to see it though. Apparently it re-renders the game 4-5 times over in real time, effectively destroying all jaggies.
Uber or not though, the game still looks astonishing. _________________

Yeah. Super/uber sampling will render all assets at like 4x the resolution you're actually running and downsample it to the display resolution for stupid amazing crisp image quality. Zero jaggies and absolutely perfectly rendered textures.
I've forced it for a couple of games through nVidia Inspector and it just murders performance. It's not worth it, but it's really nice that they've included some amazing future tech there to help keep the game useful for benchmarks. _________________

Just 4 loading screens? So there's no load every time you start the game up, or die and re-"load" or make a wrong choice and decide to try it again? =\ _________________

Im guessing they only factor in playing from start to finish from the first time you boot it up, and also not playing crap.
LIKE YOU SHOULD

Yeah I wish I never reneged on my choices, but I like to get my 'perfect' outcome too much. Not dying would be good too =)
Took me a moment but that is hilarious _________________

So I've heard there's no dual card support, just wondering if anyone here knows if this is correct? I have a 4870x2 and heard only one can be used? If the two can eventually work together, what's the closest card I should be looking at in the benchmark chart? The tests are for a 4gb ram system, would 6gb ram
on an i7 bump it up a bit?
Can't wait to finish work and give it a whirl.

My 6990 is dual-GPU and it runs it fine. The full scaling of Xfire/SLI isn't in there yet but performance wise there aren't many issues, if any at all. I've heard some people getting crazy slow perf though and disabling xfire temporarily alleviates it.
Apparently driver updates are on the way from both nvidia and ATI.
Also, I went to bed VERY VERY late last night. I didn't even realise the time. And jesus this game is ridiculously hard on hard mode. A few mistakes is more than enough to get you killed in 2-3 hits or so. _________________

Should be finished downloading from Steam when I get home tonight. I'm just hoping I can run it on medium settings at 1920x1200 with an 8800 gtx card (but everything else pretty well specced).

Never played the first, but I spent a fair while last night hitting W2, about an hour past the prologue now.
Had a few technical hiccups
• No Sound - It turns out my 7.1 headset is not supported as when it is set as default device, no sound plays in the game, only workaround for 8 channel sound is to reduce it to 6 or 2 channel, which cannot be done with my headset, not huge, as I have 5.1 speakers, but yee.
• Cannot run fullscreen - the launcher just reappears after the splash screen, 2560x1600 fullscreen is currently broken, suggested fix of playing at 1920x1200 fullscreen didn't work either.
• Poor frame rates - Due to a conflict with current 3D Vision drivers, the only way to get a decent frame rate is to remove 3D vision component from the driver install. EDIT: I just checked and new Drivers are out to fix this
No doubt, these issues will be addressed rather quickly, and for all I know may have been fixed since I last played (I'll be looking after I finish this post).
Also, I must add, GoG servers rule, games download so damn fast

The Steam download appears to be an uncompressed 16 Gig. Sitting at 97% downloaded now...

You sure? For me anyway, it'll say a game is X size big, but the file I download is always under that. Portal 2 says it is a little over 10 gigs, but the download was only 7 or so for me, a bit annoying not knowing the actual download size but ah well.

Asus G73sw Laptop:
1080p: I get just over 32fps (AA off, Ubersampling off, SSAO off, shadows on medium).
720p: 45fps on average, lowest dips are about 28 when hectic or raining with (AA on, Ubersampling off, SSAO off, shadows on medium, bloom on, gameplay LOD off).
So playing it at 720p on the 42' Plasma, with xbox wired controller for windows. Awesome. Very challenging so far, found use of spell and bombs/grease to be paramount.
PLOUGH 'EM ALL! Classic, the writing is hilarious. The game is gorgeous, so gorgeous in fact that when I get home from OS this year I am going to build a home gaming PC and get rid of the consoles (apart from uncharted 3, which Ill hold my ps3 for and I keep my Nintendo stuff so.......). _________________
