I thought with the law suit thing going on Activision has "Call of Duty" and is no longer with Infinity Ward which has "Modern Warfare" and therefor it can't be "Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 3".
What i thought was now the case is that Activision would publish Call Of Duty games with Treyarch being the developer & Infinity Ward would devlop Modern Warfare games and find a new publisher.
Am i just totally incorrect?

Yes. Activision owns both the "Call of Duty" and "Modern Warfare" marks. _________________

Although depending on how West and Zapella(sp?)'s lawsuit goes they may be entitled to a percentage of revenue if a judge rules in their favour.

Lol no games bring about as much controversy as Activisions.
Which is a shame because many of Activisions titles were once all fantastic IP's.

Incorrect. The Call of Duty series has become so well known to the "average" gamer that this will never flop. Take a look at Call of Duty Black Ops, this game has become the best-selling game of all time. Yet, the game did not enervate or try to improve the first person shooter genre, but continued to use set pieces, lots of explosions and bad A.I.
Due to years of consent repetition the "average" gamer will continue to buy these games. Activision will continue to publish these types of games and continue to make money and that's the sad part. _________________

Have to agree with ZNMS it is very sad that a hell of a lot of ppl will buy an expensive product thats 98% recycled.

Yeah the last couple of COD games have similar graphics and almost identical game play as the previous one. As described before they are more like expansions then new games.
One thing that keeps people playing them is the COD community. People make friends that they love to play with on a regular basis. They follow each other from each game release to the next. _________________

Haha, I was just having a bit of a joke. Of course Battlefield 3 is going to slaughter MW3. In terms of gameplay anyway. =P _________________

I find it absolutely incredible how, in general, the CoD fanboys are so excited about this. They really are the most narrow minded gamers in the world and I say that in the hope that one day, they might give Battlefield a chance.
You've got four teaser trailers with no gameplay, and they're calling it the best game ever. Jesus christ, thankfully nobody here is too obsessed. If CoD players knew anything about the industry, they'd know about what happened to Infinity Ward and how Activision is the devil (funny how things change, a few years ago it was EA). Infinity Ward is a skeleton of its former self and I'd rather not talk about Treyarch. Really, Call of Duty has been milked to the max but that won't stop it from breaking records every year. It's sad, it really is.
I loved Modern Warfare, both of them, even though the sequel got a lot of criticism. But I honestly can't see this being remotely close to the quality of Battlefield 3, for several reasons.
- The multiplayer (on consoles at least) will be full of the same waster kids who have nothing better to do than find hacks and ruin the game for everyone.
- The multiplayer will be glitchy and the leaderboards still won't work properly.
- The engine will probably remain unchanged.
I could add a few more things to the list but I figured that would be enough to get a neg or ten. For me, Call of Duty rose up and surpassed every other FPS out there in terms of delivering a blockbuster, cinematic solo campaign...but how much more can they possibly do with it? A couple of new locations, great. Will I buy it?
Yeah, I probably will. Just so I can give it a score of seven. _________________

I feel this is partially EA/DICE's fault for leaving it such a long time between PC battlefield games, and that detour known as Bad Company.
To EA/DICE, you did well with Multiplayer only games, the first of which revolutionised multiplayer FPS, yet you thought you would win going with a series with a single player campaign, the first of which was console only?
I felt the Bad Company series just fell into the same old as other FPS games.
Hope they win back a good share of the community with BF3. Personally I would of prefered another multiplayer only.
Anyway, this thread is to be about MW3. I will purchase this. Interesting to see what the Limited Edition will be this time. Remote helicopter? _________________ Games for Sale
