Damn i've got a hankering to install it again... |
I played as a Malk on my second run. I love how their ability to see the truth and future though tainted with madness is projected through the dialogue options. So much of the Malk dialogue you can pick from spoils the outcome of quests along with the true intentions of characters, yet is wrapped in jibberish and analogies so you wont always pick up on it. _________________

I figured I'd represent mine with characters, though I've just realised I'm the second to do this!!
Oh well...
Gordon FreemanValve's ultimate silent hero. I've always enjoyed playing as Gordon
AbeHello. Hello. Follow Me. OK. --- Awesome!
John MarstonPerhaps the best leading character in a Rockstar Game. I really empathized with him by the end of the game
Guybrush ThreepwoodSome of the best one liners ever to be spoken in a game
Nico BellicI've had some great adventures with this guy!!
Ezio AuditoreThe Assassin's Creed series has been the most compelling new IP in recent memory
Nathan DrakeThe most charismatic guy in gaming
Marcus FenixThe biggest badass is gaming
Max PayneOl' squinty face still has played his role in some of the most epic, yet subtle moments in gaming _________________

Terranigma - A wonderful SNES RPG, it had brilliant music and a wonderful concept. And oddly enough, for a muted character he was extremely likable.
Croc: Legend of the Gobbos - One of my all time favourites, platformers do not have to be overly complex or graphical powerhouses. A little creativity and some simple light-hearted game play makes Croc one of the best games there is.
Metroid Prime - Stunningly surprising game, such brilliant gameplay and graphics, eerie music and phenomenal atmosphere. Metroid Prime 2 is just as epic too, I wanted to put it in but thought I'd give it to a different series.
Legend of Zelda: Windwaker - Such a nostalgic game for me, excellent in every regard and I'm sure glad Shiggy didn't listen to his fans, probably the best game of last generation imo.
Halo 3 - This is my favourite game, the Halo universe is amazing to me, I just love it so much. Especially the parts in this game however, taking down scarabs, oddball, swordfights, speeding in ghosts, spartan lasers are just a few of the small things that all add up. A game doesn't have to be technically perfect, Halo 3 sure isn't. Buts it got so much charm!
Super Smash Bros: Melee - God who doesn't love this game, anyone can probably put this in their console right now and spend the next 3 hours on it. So much fun
Pokemon Crystal - Pokemon at its best, along with Gold and Silver these games took up most of my childhood. And the legendary pokemon were damn awesome this time round, Lugia and Suicune ^^
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - I love all HP games but this one on Gameboy Color takes the cake, such an accurate representation of the book and an extremely fun RPG game. I also love the Playstation 1 version though it pails compared to this.
Crash Bandicoot - Another nostalgic game for me, another game that wasn't a graphical beast, but is very creative and such a blast to play.
And that's it for me, I wanted atleast another 7 boxes though XD I would have loved to put in;
Gears of War
Oblivion/Morrowind
Super Mario Galaxy
Halo
Eternal Sonata
Super Mario World 2: Yoshis Island
Sonic the Hedgehog
Luigi's Mansion
Final Fantasy X
Abe's Odyssey
Banjo & Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

There's so many more that I wanted to add..
Jill of the Jungle
Running Wild
Soul Reaver
Golden Axe Warrior
Assassin's Creed
Fable
Broken Sword (George = Hilarious)
Driver
Etc.. etc.. (I could go on for awhile XD )
..Cutting most of them out was tough.

As a whole, the Zelda series could probably beat it. They'd both be pretty similar in terms of acclaim, though... _________________

This took longer than expected. It's pretty much all the games I've played to death over the years. For NFS3 and TA in particular I really got into their respective modding scenes, adding hundreds of extra cars/units and tracks/maps for those games.
I chose the Sims 2 over the original because I think, looking back, it was the overall better game. Sims 3 not-so-much, maybe because I missed all the cool expansion packs (in particular Open for Business) that I had for the Sims 2.

Great idea for a thread. These are pretty much the games that came to mind, but I know I've forgotten a few biggies. What I can be sure of is that all of these have taken up a ridiculous portion of my life. Star Wars galaxies for instance, I've logged 160 days over 7 years.
The Darkness deserves a special mention because I feel its the most underrated game of all time. Story-wise it drew me in on a level very few games could, even to the point of shedding a man-tear at a couple of points.

Limited to just 9 games, it's tough, there's so many moments from different games that left an impression on me. Anyway here's my 9 that I would have to say had the most fun with.
Street Fighter - From Street Fighter 1 arcade punch pads to what we have now being Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition. Probably enjoyed Street Fighter 3 the most but an awesome franchise none the less.
King Of Fighters - Started back in 95, played it all the way up to 13, would say I enjoyed 96 the most when they practically removed all projectiles - kept things interesting.
Blazblue - Love the character designs, felt it took a "Guitly Gear" type game in a different direction. Love you Noel, not as much as Jun but there's still love there.
Monster Hunter - I play this a lot with my friends online (mostly my Japanese friends), lots of sleepless night spent hunting a multitude on monsters, just to get that weapon / armor. PSN needs to come back so I can resume my 3rd Portabe hunts.
Tekken - one of the first "3D" games I played, played Tekken 2 lots and had some memorable epic matches with friends. Jun was undoubtly my favourite characters, combos, counters and she's hot what's not to like?
Metal Gear Solid - Played every Metal Gear to date (even the NES platform one), chose Sniper Wolf as I felt Metal Gear Solid on the PSOne had one of the best stories and characters I've ever played.
Biohazard / Resident Evil - Loved the first ever Resident Evil game back on the PSOne days. Had one of the most memorable voice acting ever - "Jill, here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you."! Paved the way for many more.
Tribes - Ah use to play this heaps back on the PC, ran with one of the best clans out there. Moved onto Tribes 2, Tribes Vengenance and definitely will give the upcoming Tribes Ascend game a look in. Lots of clan matches, lots of memories.
Battlefield - Another awesome PC game. Played it way back when it started as 1942, and played every expansion and series (2, 2142). Looking forward to 3. _________________

I only put 1 game from each franchise otherwise there would be no way I could put all my favourite games on there.

Heh, surprised by all the FFX love. I thought everyone preferred VII (not saying that it's better at all or anything; I prefer X as well).
Also nice to see some fellow Mirror's Edge fans. Those plebians will never understand... _________________

- 1. Shadow Warriors (Ninja Gaiden) - One of my all time classics from the back in the day. It was the first game I was obsessed with completing due to it's insane difficulty and the first to ever really give me bragging rights albeit amogst siblings who didn't believe it until I showed them the credits.
- 2. Donkey Kong Country 2 - The best DK game to date and my personal all time favourite side scroller. It had the best of all gaming aspects, characters, environments and easily one of the most memorable soundtracks in any video game to date. I love playing through the game just until I get to the first level with Sticker Brush Symphony. Brilliant song.
- 3. Final Fantasy VIII - My all time favourite RPG and was the first to introduce me to one of my favourite genre's JRPG's. It was the first game I played that showed character development and emotion within games. It also had an awesome story, gameplay, great characters and my all time favourite soundtrack in any game.
- 4. The Legend of Zelda OOT - I don't think I've played a game as much as I did OOT back in the N64 days. I remember being blown away with the game the first time I played it and to this date, still find it to be one of the most enjoyable games to play through.
- 5. Metroid Prime - - Shooting and explosions - Check. Varied, vast world - Check. Challenging, engaging combat - Check. Epic enemy design and boss battles - Check. Adventure and exploration elements - Check. Immersive, beautiful music (think Phendrana Drifts) - Check. A hot chick kicking ass - Check. Is there anything this game doesn't have? That's why to this date, it's still my all time favourite game!
- 6. Shadow of the Colossus - The most epic boss battles that I have ever competed. Additionally, the game had a huge open world that was incredible to explore and the best Orchestrated soundtrack I've heard in any game to date.
- 7. GTA Vice City - My favourite of all the GTA's. Althought the main story resembled that of Scarface and various other 80's movies, this is what really made the game for me. The fact that the 80s theme was so well executed made so immersive and enjoyable to play. Highlights include listening to Pale Shelter in the miltary helicopter while taking on the national guard.
- 8. Mass Effect - I personally still prefer the first over ME2. The reason being is that it opened me up to an incredible story and Universe. Additionally, it had one of the most interesting and exciting stories I've ever played through in a game.
- 9. Lost Odyssey - Turn based JRPG's are slowly becoming a thing of the past with many developers opting for real time or action based battle systems. As someone who grew up loving the strategy behind turn based JRPG's, Lost Odyssey was welcomed with open arms. Not only did it have a traditional battle system, it also introduced the ring system during the attack systems which reminded me of the one used in Legend of Dragoon. The story was immersive, the characters were all interesting and the world reminded me of the classic Final Fantasy games. But what truly made this game an experience was the story telling of the immortals in Kaims dreams and the music throught the game. _________________
