The reason for this is pretty simple, for quite some time, the word was used as a synonym to "owned" or whatever spelling (or misspelling) you want to apply to the word. the censoring was simply a way to reduce that connotation, as i, for one, object to using it so.
and my reasonings for this is likewise simple - a friend of mine was r.a.p.e.d. over 10 years ago, and she is still a shadow of her former self, and one day i used the word in the context of "owned" while she was around, and once i realised what i'd said, and how indifferently i'd said it... well i don't think i've ever felt worse in my life.
tbh - it's probably the only word i consider offensive. i'm 100% ok with swearing, from S-bombs, to F-bombs to C-bombs, i couldn't care less, but r.a.p.e. does not deserve to have it's meaning diluted by people, like me at that time, who've mis-appropriated it for something so trivial.
sorry for being so serious, but it deserves a reply as to why the censoring is there. i guess when the conversation is on context, like this, it's annoying, but when it is on context like this, then you'll be pretty safe that none of the mods will (or should) complain.
