Watched the 1st episode the other day. I liked it, never read the books.

Wow some of those are insane.
As for our local covers, I wish they'd bring back the initial UK style rather than the boring minimalist 3D renders they have now. I mean come on how can these two possibly compare?

^ I much prefer the minimalist covers over that other stuff. I never really cared much for fantasy artwork on book covers. Mostly because the artwork is way too elaborate and usually has no relation to what's actually in the book. I haven't read Feast yet so I've got no idea if a giant wicker-man like guardian thing plays a part or not. I'm going to guess... no.
At least the current covers have a nice continuing theme to them. The look great all lined up. Yes, I care about that.
I still haven't watched the latest episode but I have been reading like a mad man. I'm about a few chapters into aSoS: Part 2 and oh my freaking god I can't believe that just happened! Goddamn that was... wow. I had a hard time falling asleep after that. I want to say more but I don't want to risk venturing into spoiler territory.
I will say this however; this show needs a third season. _________________

Yeah I care too, that's mainly why I'm annoyed they changed them =)
Tempted to re-buy the first few with the "new" covers =P _________________

My book depository order sent me Feast for Crows with the Bantam Books cover. I've already re-bought the Harper Collins print. I've now got two copies of a book I haven't even read yet.
I'm not even embarrassed to admit that, which is kinda embarrassing... _________________

CAREFUL IMP!... Seriously Arya Stark is the best character. Can't wait to see her grow up and kick some ass. I hadn't heard of the book series before, I'm really intrigued now.

Spoilers and jazz.
I actually really dig the Kaleesi (sp?) stuff because apart from The Dragon (who is gradually losing his standing with every episode) no one else in that troupe really seems like a bad guy but they're all about regaining the throne so you know that at some point it's going to happen.
I really want to know The Imp's game, because he doesn't seem to really follow in the footsteps of his siblings, I mean sure, it was his dagger, but it just doesn't seem like him to organise anything with his brother or sister as evidenced by all the help he's given to people on Stark's side.
Oh, and I want to see Bran become a jouster. It seems logical for him to pursue that given that they've implemented the idea of a riding saddle along with a jousting tourney. He probably won't be in this tournament but I hope that's where he progresses to.
Ep 5 spoilers...
Man, you're not wrong about the action, it was a lot more full on. I also really liked the development of Robert's character because up until now he's just seemed like a drunkard who fell into his position, but he has heart and he really does care.
Everything ramped up big time this latest episode as well, with all the political cloak and daggers and never really knowing who's side each person is on. Definitely anxious for Ep 6 if only to see where the Lannister debacle goes from here. I'm guessing that particular story is resolved this season, it feels like it'll reach a conclusion soon.

Just watched the episode myself. Best one so far, and they supposedly only get better from here. The heart was pounding at the conclusion. Jory
Nerd-chill moments:
* Clegane brothers melee
* Friggen huge Dragon skull
* The Eyrie reveal
Whatever earlier niggles I had are all but forgotten at this stage. This is as great an adaptation as I could have hoped for. Not quite exact but when is it ever?
Now to read more Storm of Swords... _________________

Don't think I'll be reading this thread again until I'm upto date. Don't want to be exposed to even a chance of a spoiler! _________________ Da Bessssss

That's the most common place it's known from yeah.
Sin: You'll like what's coming up for Viserys "The Dragon" later (if it isn't already in ep5). I know I'm looking forward to it. _________________

I thought episode 5 was the strongest so far. The Clegane brawl was excellent.
| SPOILERS wrote: | | I was surprised by the Renly and Loras "scene". Apparently it's hinted at in the books. I only ever suspected that Loras was gay, but I never had the impression Renly was. Not that there's anything wrong with that. |

Episode 6 was amazing and just so people know episode 7 has been leaked. Its a web rip and it will appear on the normal places soon enough. Just thought people should know.

My advice is to keep clear of Episode 7 for now, because you'll be left with a two week wait to see what happens next. Given the way I think the next episode will end, that won't be something to look forward to.
Just a fair warning for those thinking of jumping the gun... _________________

Ep 6 was awesome. So far it's doing right by the book.
| EP6 SPOILERS wrote: | Glad to see Viserys got his crown finally. Been looking forward to that since he made his debut on the screen. Weedy whiny brat that he is. Danerys is coming into her own too.
The fight in the eyrie was good too. No bloody idea why they included the goodbye scene between Theon and his whore in Winterfell though. Seemed pointless and I don't remember her playing much of a part. I guess it's just to say "war is coming" |

I find it hard enough to wait a week for the next episode. I couldn't stand waiting a fortnight! I am not a Dragon :(

| EP6 SPOILERS wrote: | | First point, I actually felt the writers made Viserys out to be more of a sympathetic character in this episode. At least more than he ever was in the book. That scene with Jorah let us see a more vulnerable and insecure side to him, if only for a moment. I remember reading the golden crown scene with an evil grin on my face. Watching it happen though, I actually felt a little sad. |
Book progress; I've finished Storm of Swords (WOW at the closing chapter), and I'm a little ways into Feast for Crows. _________________
