gday all, having some pc problems.
the other night shut pc down, and it installed some updates, fair enough.
next morning wont boot out of the bio startup screen, it reset my overclocks and still doesnt get out of the startup, just tests memory and then detecting ide drives and does nothing. wont even let me go into bios.
any ideas? hardware related im guessing? any help/futher tests would be helpful. thanks fellas

I always start with reseating all components such as the ram and video card.
Next step if that doesnt fix it is to remove unecessary components to see if it will boot with just the basics (ie 1 stick of ram, no cd/dvd drives, no sound card, no wifi card, etc.)
If that doesnt it fix it, my next step would be clearing the cmos. This is generally done by jumping to pins on the board, usually near the battery, marked CLEAR_CMOS, for 30 - 60 secs. If there isn't this on your motherboard then just removing the battery will have the same effect.
After that I would try other components since I have alot of spares lying around.
And failing all that, new hdd. _________________ Games for Sale

Sounds like the HDD, but definitely go with what timmay has mentioned; isolate the problem. Remove hardware components one by one and replace with older components to try nail down what can be causing that.
Good luck, hopefully it isn't a corrupted HDD. _________________
