| Quote: | Event Cinema offer is valid between Wed 27 April and Wed 11 May 2011
When you select your movie and enter promotional code "BONUS" - it allows you to select up to 10 tickets for $9.50 with the standard $1.10 online booking fee - so tickets come to $10.60 each.
Not valid for 'Water for Elephants" or Gold Class. Standard surcharges apply for 3D, Vmax and 3D Vmax sessions. |
I refused to go watch sucker punch for $24 for a VMax session (ended up paying $3 more for IMAX) so this $10.10 deal is pretty great.

Wait... $10.10 is a discount price?! I'm not trying to sound like a douche, but I can't imagine paying that much to see a movie, even without a discount. Movie prices be crazy indeed. _________________

Are you some sort of shifty student?
Adult Event Cinema tickets at a "Megaplex" are $18. There's a reason why I've barely seen any movies at the cinemas since I left uni. _________________

we may have expensive coffee, but at least the WA brand cinemas are only $10 for adults. (if you buy a $20/year membership - which comes with a bunch of vouchers worth that much anyway.) _________________

We paid $24.50 to see Thor in 3D on a "Extreme" screen at Hoyts.
Frigging joke.

Wait. EACH? Holy shit?
To see it in 3D I payed 15 bucks and that included a pack of chips and a large lemonade. _________________

Paying to see Thor, or just paying that much to see Thor... ?
Also, um... could someone please explain the OP? I have *no idea* where, how, or when these cheap tickets are available. Is it simply a Village cinemas deal when purchasing tickets online, or... ? _________________

I'm guessing it means if you're booking online?
@Theory
Just out of brissie.
We have http://www.cineplex.com.au/. There 8.50 for an adult ticket or 11.00 for a 3D movie.
I'm beginning to think I'd be a lot more discerning about the movies I see if I was paying 25 bucks a pop for a ticket.
Shit I go to the movies every weekend, I think I'd have to cut back if it was that much. _________________

There are so many $10 ticket offers flying around these days, I hardly ever pay the $20 or so that they ask for for a normal session. Last 3D session I went to cost me $13 too. *shrug* _________________

It was this price for VMAX sucker punch. And that wasn't even 3D. I was like WTF is this shit. So terrible. I bought 14+ tokens during the event promo in january and was so used to the $7+$1.10 price that when suckerpunch rolled around and it was $24 per person. I was like WTTTTTTFFF!!!!
I love going to the cinema but I'm not paying that much. _________________

Whats up with the $1.10 online booking fee.
I can never figure it out, we are saving them money and time by booking online and yet we pay for it? _________________

Well it's the same as ticketek/ticketmaster etc charging $5 to email your ticket to you _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004

That actually makes some amount of sense seeing as I'm pretty sure when it comes to concert tickets, that's the ONLY money Ticketmaster get out of it, the ticket money goes to the manager/promoter/whatever.

http://www.yestickets.com.au/movierewards/
I only ever go to the cinema on monday/tuesday or when tickets are less than $10.

Same as Benza, Cineplex is amazing. My local is (was?) the one at Victoria Point. I do have a student card, which last time got me a ticket for like $6, but it's only $2 more or something for an adult ticket. $10 is where I draw the line on going to the cinema (without food/drink) unless it's a really special occasion. _________________

We used to go to the South Bank one on Thursday nights whenever a particularly crap new movie would come out. $8.50 for a night with friends and paying out a shit movie? Bargain.
Haven't really found a comparable cinema in terms of price and quality in Melbourne. _________________

Oath. The victoria point one is the best of the lot of them due to being newest too. It's just a much better experience full stop, even if you don't take the price into account. _________________
