I was a little bothered by the extra scenes they put in that weren't in the book - I realise they were probably 'foreshadowing' for important stuff they won't go into enough detail about, but Cersei's firstborn doesn't make sense to me any way I look at it. I also was disappointed by the omission of Cat telling Jon it should have been him. _________________

Watched both episodes back to back with 3 others. None of them had read the books before this. They're all complete converts now. Monday night has just become Game of Thrones night.
Damn good episode too. They packed so many chapters into it yet this time it had a really great flow to it. It didn't feel rushed like the first episode (although on second viewing, I did enjoy the pilot a lot more).
Now there's another week to wait to see what happens next... Every time the credits rolls I already start to feel the ache for the next episode. That's a very good sign as far as I'm concerned! _________________

Yeah, thought this episode was far better than the first (which was great).
I liked how the opening credits changed to reflect where Daenerys now is. I hope that continues.

Never read the books or even heard of them before watching the first episode.
Have to say, I wasn't that impressed and don't get why so many are.
And it's plain annoying to see so much nudity and sex for no reason, other than horny kids and ratings. Just like Sparticus, True Blood etc, it's stupid. _________________ My YouTube game videos!

Ive seen the first episode so far, and honestly my first impression is pretty much, "Uhuh, alot of sex and boobage, weird angry tribal blackman who doesnt speak english but something along the lines of star trek (whatever its called), story seems to be going nowhere, evil guy must be easily seen as the evil guy with white hair and crap"
Just seems like theyre trying to appeal to nerd sterotype here.
So...so much sex. _________________

Just some news:
| Quote: | HBO's new fantasy series "Game of Thrones" is definitely living by the sword -- and living quite well by it, according to the ratings.
The cable outlet announced Tuesday that Sunday night's second episode of the George R.R. Martin adaptation matched last week's premiere, with 2.2 million viewers for its 9 p.m. airing.
An encore run of the episode at 11 p.m. snapped up an additional 732,000 pairs of eyeballs, which came within a dragon's breath of the previous week's encore airing, which drew 755,000 viewers.
Overall, the "Game of Thrones" premiere garnered 4.2 million total viewers between its three airings last Sunday. According to HBO, that number has since shot past 6.8 million, thanks to additional platforms such as DVR and the cable outlet's HBO on Demand service.
The premiere's strong showing prompted HBO to renew the series for a second season last Tuesday, just two days after the series premiere.
HBO also announced that the season two premiere of David Simon's New Orleans-based series "Treme," which aired following "Game of Thrones" at 10 p.m., averaged 605,000 viewers, with an additional 135,000 viewers tuning in for its midnight encore airing. Last April's series premiere drew 1.1 million total viewers. |

For those people complaining about the amount of sex/nudity, I think if you read the books you'll understand better. It's not something that was gratuitously added into the TV series, that stuff is all straight out of the books and often is important to the story - it's just one of many weapons. _________________

But flat out showing all the nudity on screen is simply not needed.
There are artistic ways of showing the audience what's intended to be told and there's sleezy soft porn. This show has chosen the latter. _________________ My YouTube game videos!

As for as I'm concerned there is nothing wrong with images of the de-robed human form. It didn't come off as "sleezy soft porn" to me, it all seemed to be meaningfully contextualised within the narrative. Mind you I've only seen the first Ep.
Then again, it might also be that I just like boobies. _________________

A couple of pairs of tits and some arse cheeks is soft porn?
It's an adult show, much like basically every other HBO drama. The idea is that the people watching are able to see a few tits and not cry "porn!"

To be honest tho when comparing this to other HBO shows, this seems more timid. Like i mean the sex goes away within i would say 10 seconds if that...
Anyway i really can't wait to watch episode 3.
EDIT: I also love the fact how there are many many stories going on here and i have NFI how it will turn out. _________________

Yeah, this show is pretty tame compared to most HBO shows and the sex and nudity actual makes sense. Tribal culture, a sleazy nympho outcast of a brother.
It's better than, say, Boardwalk Empire which basically has nearly every episode start, or include, a random naked chick in Nucky's bed. True Blood is full of it but it's a vampire show and the big draw for vamp stuff is their sexualisation.

Mod edit: I've spoiler tagged your whole post on request of other members. Please try not to do it again.
Me edit: Sorry, i didnt really give anything away tho (specifics)
| >>>SPOILERS<<< wrote: | Yeah but in episode 2,
With the princess, Its pretty much "How can i satisfy my man?" *Que lesbian scene*, *Que Intercourse Scene* - The end of her story arc.
Like is that REALLY necessary? apart from just appealing senses?
It was honestly her whole role, in the entire episode.
I dunno, not really complaining, just pointing out how unnecessary it is, making the show look stupid in the process by making the story seem empty.
Anyone else noticed that most of the story is about sex so far?
Kid injuryed = Because of Sex
Father (Sean Bean) = Dark past, Because of Sex
Mother torn = Because of Sex
Bastard Son and whole story hovers around that = Because of Dark sex past
Twist of Story = Because of Incest (Right?)
Evil villian climax (lol) and central plot/story arc = Sex to win over a tribe that just fights and haves sex all day.
Im sure i could point out more, But honestly, the more i think about it, the more i notice that everything is just about or because of sex.
Failed to see any story without sex (Even the bratty prince kid got bitten because he was horny for the other royal chick)
-Sorry i dont know the proper names for people. |

Should you really be watching a HBO show if you have something against sex scenes?
It's told as a part of the story and that sex is a part of life. Game of Thrones is about power, and sex described in the story line is about power and control. You are all a bit weird thinking it is for someone to get off on - the scenes are short and to the point.

The books revolve around sex, blood and a touch of the supernatural. If you don't like them, you probably don't want to watch the show. _________________

If you're used to watching anime, then the way this show builds isn't all that unfamiliar. Especially the fact that the first episode seems really different from what happens in the next two.
Really enjoying this after three episode. Sean Bean is great. _________________ Twitter | XBL: Tamaaya | PSN: stormo | GameCentre/Steam: StorminNorman

Preview for Episode 4:
Ep. 4 - Preview
Also just some news
| Quote: | HBO's fantasy series "Game of Thrones" is growing its audience.
Reaching a new high, the show's third episode "Lord Snow" pulled in 2.4 million viewers during its 9 p.m. premiere. Combined with the episode's 11 p.m. encore, "Game of Thrones" finished the night with 3.1 million viewers.
The pilot episode, which aired April 17, scored 2.2 million viewers during its 9 p.m. debut. However, after accounting for encores, HBO On Demand and DVRs, the pilot ultimately hauled in 8.7 million viewers, according to HBO.
Like the pilot, the final viewership tally for Episode 3 is expected to swell too.
Based on author George R.R. Martin's acclaimed "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels, "Game of Thrones" chronicles a treacherous clash among royal families to secure ultimate power of Westeros, a vast kingdom where life is often fraught with peril and shockingly short.
HBO has already renewed "Game of Thrones" for a second season, which will be based on Martin's second novel "A Clash of Kings." |

I've read the books, and loved the first two episodes so far!
I watched episode one with my mum, sis, and wife. They couldn't get all the nudity!!! lol I said it was all in the books, but they weren't prepared for the sex.
Sean Bean rocks btw. And I like how they subtly bring out the different characters, as there as so many. Little bits of Robb, Catelyn, plenty of Tyrion!!! So good. Great show. Good to see Daenerys' story building immediately too _________________
