Original Star Fox (Lylat Wars) in 3D, yes please, but this time with co-op multiplayer, as well as versus dogfighting modes.

How do you set up a personal message to street pass peeps? There are acctually a small number of 3ds owners who I've been passing regularly but I can't figure out how to send a message other than my defalt one. _________________

You can only send a personal message once you've collected a Streetpass Mii for the second time - during the 'You got THIS MANY' parade, it'll come up with a prompt asking whether you'd like to send a General (the one you set as the basic hing you Mii says) or Personal greeting. If you select Personal, you then get a text entry screen with a 16 char limit to enter a personal message.
NOW, on the topic of StreetpassQuest! Whats the deal with hat earning, eh? I'm starting to think that perhaps you have to clear a room with a collected Mii (as opposed to a hired/summoned wanderer) to earn a hat. Can anyone confirm/deny this? I only ask because the list of ????s in the hat menu is far greater than the no. of rooms I have yet to clear, and the last few I've finished off with wanderers instead of Miis. _________________

I got my Mario Hat having only ever used wanderers. Judging by Bronze, once you clear the rooms you start again from the start and keep going. _________________

Yeah. You have to play through it more than once to collect all the hats. _________________

Apparently the 3DS is hacked! Either that or someone took a photo of themselves looking at a "hello world" image in the picture viewer. As you can also see, it includes amazing pieces of homebrew development such as the activity log...
I call bullshit. _________________

Any news of a Korg 3DS-10? For those that don't know it's a portable synthesiser you can make music with.

If the Korg 3DS-10 does come out, let's hope it will let you use audio samples recorded with the mic.

Well Pilotwings resort is the coolest thing ever. Serioulsy, this is what Im talking about. I can relax and play this game wasted as hell (BUT the 3D tends to be a bit glitchy when your wasted!?) I loove it, relaxing and excellent use of the 3D and a perfect rendition of the absolute classic the N64 game was (and somewhat the SNES one). Love. _________________

Yeah, it is a nice, relaxing game. Defintely worth checking out if you are a Pilotwings fan.
For reasons I have previously mentioned, I can't comment on the 3D, but what I have noticed is when I have been drinking and turn it on, it doesn't become quite so much of a blurry mess for me... I shall have to experiment further.

After drinking a fair amount and showing it off at a party last weekend I can safely say I and a lot of other people couldn't see it when intoxicated. _________________

I just got my 3DS about a week ago! Very excited. I'm also new to PALGN, so hello everyone...
Are people doing Streetpass meetups? I've heard about them a little but I can't seem to find one for where I am (Brisbane)
That said, I've gotten about 15 people so far; it's so exciting to see you've got someone new, haha

Hi apricotsushi, welcome.
First time I've heard about Streetpass meetups. Good idea, if a large enough number of people turn up. Or everyone could just change the date manually and get another round of hits... hmm... this might just work... _________________

Nice to meet you!
I found this site, in particular, is pretty neat and has lists of Streetpass groups around the world. Here's AU: http://streetpassnetwork.com/groups/#Australia

So finally was able to give my shiny new 3ds a go, impressions
the good
- 3d effect is pretty nice, better then expected and not at all daunting on the eyes. I usually find that if I go and see a movie at the cinemas, take avatar for example, i cant seem to watch the film for more then half an hour straught before the 3d becomes a blurry mess and i have to take the glasses off for a few minutes to give them a rest. happily, this isn't the case for the 3ds
- graphics are very clean, only have SSFIV, and it looks much better in motion then the screen shots I've seen of it.
- analogue stick works flawlessly, and not really uncomfortable to use at all, unlike the psp which use to give me cramps in my thumb after extended play sessions.
Then the not so good
- 3d camera is pretty lousy, reminds of when i had my first camera phone about 5 years ago, I'm guessing this was intentional as the inevitable hardware revision will include a far better quality of picture with it's camera.
- is there any reason the touch screen needs to be smaller then the 3d screen? seems like another thing which might have been intentionally made that way for a superior hardware revision to take it's place
- an absolute smudge magnet, it's only been out of the box for about 24 hours and it's already got smears and smudges all over it.
- launch titles are not extremely appealing, besides SSF which i own, and maybe plotwings after every one in the thread has been raving on about it, ther doesn't seem to be to much that interests me. Just holding out for resi evil and OOT remake at this stage.
overall pretty pleased with it, and can't wait till a few more high quality titles come out for it to really show it's potential. also any body have some good case reccommendations? ie prices, and locations of a sturdy but not ugly case.
