I don't think that's enough to just have another guy writing. (The only movie he's written apart from Sucker Punch was 300)
I mean watchmen was written by the guy that wrote X-men and X2 (and is snake)
It's more he needs someone that's more of a partnership were the two both feed off of each other. Not just using someone elses material.

I understand what you mean now, so when he does decide to direct something that is his own, he essentially has someone else to help build it from the ground up with him.
And... David Hayter wrote the screenplay for Watchmen? Hot damn, I didn't realise! I still remember that he donned the Guyver suit in the live action version of the Guyver manga.

Mark was in the first film (Mutronics) as an investigator. There was a sequel later on called 'Guyver: Dark Hero' in which he played the main character.

Watched it.
Boring steaming pile of fucking bullshit smeared over with pretensions of being deep fucking eye candy intellectual nonsense. Slow mo bullshit. Softcore pornography.Worst movie I've seen this year. Long, boring, shitty, fucking dull. People in the imax kept squirming and a few people walked out.
1/10 (for the final fantasy limit break). but it was fucking terrible otherwise.

I was very close to walking out myself. Sucker Punch is a really, really rubbish movie. Half of it felt like it was in slow motion (probably because it was), the action scenes weren't all that great, hopeless acting, and as for that soundtrack...
Whoever covered Pixies and The Stooges ought to be ashamed of themselves.
I can understand the cult following for its style, and I'll be the first to admit that Snyder has plenty of it. 300 and Watchmen were both very enjoyable, and were helped along with some sort of plot. Sucker Punch is just a mix mash of genres that never work together and it looked cheap. I expected the visuals to be the highlight, but they were just as bad as everything else.
1/10, and only because of my obsession with Bjork.

why? Because adjustment bureau was boring to me? I did just praise Scott Pilgrim as an excellent movie in the movie thread. I like to be entertained. Just because you pass out at the sight of girls in panties and eyeliner doesn't mean that SP is a good movie.

I did look at it like that before I saw Sucker Punch, but yeah, they're very different movies at the end of the day. Scott Pilgrim focused more on story, Sucker Punch focused more on action. Both have their own merits imo, but really, all that that matters to me is whether I found the movie entertaining. Both of them really caught my attention and haven't let it go since, so I rate them highly.

Nah. Its... just ass.
The way the story was developed was so terrible and the action sequences were all DULL as all hell.
Thing is, there was a massive CGI budget. You see it all on screen all the time. But for 2 hours, you just don't care. All the moppets (baby doll, sweet pea..etc) were just tarts. And then there was Rocket with her carefully crafted Final Fantasy Hair.
bad movie is bad.

Maybe I under-analyse the films I watch sometimes, but I think that lets you sit back and enjoy them more. While watching Sucker Punch, I wasn't worrying about the setting or the characters. All I knew was that people with swords were mowing down steam-powered zombie Germans in an epic setting, and I was loving every second of it. I might have gotten bored if the same action scenarios were constantly revisited, but each one was unique - I couldn't wait to see what they were going to take on next. The story was just there to give the action scenes some context really, and I'm totally down with that.

It was bad enough when that godawful rendition of the Eurythmics came on, but when the Pixies cover hit I damned near stood up and swore at the screen. Settled for gestureing wildly, flipping off the screen, and shaking my fist angrily.
I've been told that Browning sings the covers of Sweet Dreams and Where Is My Mind... if this is true I hate her even more than I did immediately after seeing SuckerPunch.
Also, that We Will Rock You mashup? WTF man?!
Ugh.

man I didn't have a problem with most of the songs in it. Skunk Annisie with Bjork was awesome. The where is my mind wasn't the best but it wasn't horrible.

she's got a decent enough voice and it was arranged differently.
But eh it's all just opinions.
Would you have still hated it if you hadn't heard the Pixies version first?
And I stand by my love for Skunk Annisie/Bjork song. That was awesome and you suck if you don't like.

I had 'Tomorrow Never Knows' stuck in my head after watching the movie. I think my mind connected it with the action scenes in general, whenever I thought about them, it would play in my head. So I ended up grabbing it off iTunes. As for 'Sweet Dreams', it doesn't hold up that well on its own, but used as part of the film's opening sequence, it was a perfect fit I reckon. The original version would have been too upbeat, and I think it's nice that they gave Browning a go at singing. That's not to say that she should start a solo act any time soon though!

Perfect fit is being rather generous - Sweet Dreams and Where Is My Mind were pretty much as lazy and 'HERE LET ME DRAW YOU A DIAGRAM WITH CRAYONS ON A SLEGEHAMMER AND BEAT THE MESSAGE INTO YOUR FACE WITH IT' as you can get. But I think we both know where each other stands in regards to opinions on this film by now.

There was at least a bit more subtlety with the song choice in Watchmen. Not much but a little bit. Some of it was taken from the comic too (All along the watch tower I'm pretty sure is directly referenced in the book)
