I agree about Trinity Soul. Its ties to Persona 3 were so weak that I'm surprised they even bothered to put it in the same world. I think it really needed to be directly based on a game rather than trying to be its own thing.
What I'd like to see is an anime version of Persona 4's story, which follows the true ending route. It's not particularly original, but I think it would be a great watch.
Persona 4 Portable would be ok, but only if it's for the NGP/PSP2. I liked Persona 3 Portable, but the removals of the anime scenes and 3D environments outside of Tartarus were disappointing.
My money is definitely on this being an announcement for an anime though. Interestingly, the countdown on the website is set to end on the 11th of April 2011, the exact same day that the main character in P4 arrives in Inaba.
Edit: Some sites are already calling it. Apparently the anime will be produced by Aniplex, which sounds about right. This was also shown on the cellphone capture, apparently. _________________

It started off slow, but is still one of my favourite animes, especially for the last handful of episodes.

It's much better than a portable version if you ask me. The only thing that Persona 3 Portable added to the game was the female MC and the fact that you could play it on the go. On the other hand, some things were removed, making it an incomplete port. I didn't want to see that happen to Persona 4, even though it would allow a few new players to experience it. _________________

I think it was a vast improvement over the PS2 Persona 3. Faster menus, quicker battle system, control of your party members and I liked the way it was presented in 2D rather than 3D (well other than the dungeon crawling).

True, there were a couple of technical improvements with the faster loading and such, but it's not like they were major additions. I think it was a minor improvement, more like a patch than anything else. _________________

And the project has been unveiled!!
It is an anime series. It better not be some depressing and emo '10 years later' crap like Trinity Soul >: (
I want groovy music, good charms and STYLE! _________________

Maybe we'll get a teaser clip when the site finishes counting down? That's what I'm hoping, anyway. _________________

Ok, so the website for the Persona 4 anime has launched. The anime is called Persona 4: The Animation. How apt. I did a bit of translation and found out a few things. The MC's official name is Yu Narukami. He will be voiced by Daisuke Namikawa, who also voiced the MC in the game. His previous voice roles include:
Fay D. Flourite in Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle
Ulquiorra Cifer in Bleach
Kei Kurono in Gantz
Eustass Kid in One Piece
Jiro in Blue Dragon
Yosuke, Chie and Yukiko's japanese voice actors will also reprise their roles from the game.
First piece of art, from the website:
I have a good feeling about this. _________________

Has any details been released? Like is it going to be a series or an OVA? Will it follow the story from the game or is it an after story? I hope Shoji Meguro composes the soundtrack.

No real details yet, we probably won't know if it will be a series or OVA until they release it. I get the feeling that they'll follow the story of Persona 4 since they're using all the characters from the game, but you never know. _________________

Meguro Shoji does seems to be slated on the sound/music category and they did mention it is a "TV animation". _________________ 「貧乳はステータスだ!希少価値だ!」 - 泉 こなた

Catherine pre-order bonuses have been detailed. Probably only available in the US seeing as it's pre-order bonuses which is a shame! But there is a confirmed release date now, 26th of July.

I feel like they missed an opportunity by not including a body pillow.
