Playing this on PS3.
I'm enjoying the Nanosuit, it's what really sets this game apart from the other shooters I've played. The graphics are f**kin' awesome too (coming from Resistance 2). _________________

Yeah, if you're new to the Crysis franchise the Nanosuit is an amazingly fresh concept for the genre. Even from a guy who's played Crysis through its three releases it's still an awesome tool to come to grips with. _________________

Since the original's release a lot of games have mimicked elements of the nanosuit (whether it be via a device in the game or some form of character ability.), however Crysis does it best.

What, you mean like the active camo in Halo 3? Yeah, it's not really a central element of the gameplay in other games that I've played, that's all I was saying. _________________

I agree! Feels good surviving huge drops thanks to maximum armor and jumping from building to building. _________________

I was thinking more like how you can cloak all the time.
Being able to survive huge drops is cool too though. _________________

Just a heads up for people who plan to 100% the trophies/achievements...
If you don't have the game already, but are planning on picking it up in a few months or whatever, it might be worth renting or borrowing the game off a mate for a quick play.
And no, apparently you can't get around it by messing with the console's dates.

Finished the game last night and played some online. I'm impressed. Works far better than I expected it would.
The SP portion was the best FPS shooter I've played in a long time. _________________

I'm about 5 hours into the SP (up to Semper Fi or Die)
Tried some MP. I am rank 10 now or very close, some matches are great, but some matches I just suck.
Does anyone have any tips? I usually use a Scar with Reflex sight, whack on my armor and headshot people. But it doesn't always work. _________________

Never stop moving, learn to blend your nanosuit abilities between cloak and armour effectively and manage your energy so you never 'deplete' it.
The nanosuit is not a panzer tank, which some people seem to think. It's most effective with hit and run kind of tactical play, so I'd suggest using cloak while dashing around to keep yourself off being a big target and only uncloak when you're confident you can score a kill/do damage. After the kill, immediately get back into cloak and keep moving.
I've been winning almost every match I've played since launch day and my KDR is almost at 3.00 now. This games style just clicks in for me so well; feels like Unreal Tournament with super powers. <33333 it. _________________

Haven't touched the touched the SP yet as im using a small tv atm and won't to wait to use my big tv when i move. Been playing the multi and iv just reached lvl 12 and i havent won a bloody match yet. Kind of struggling with the feel of the game. I don't know what it is, i guess im use to playing COD. I was the same with Halo. Didn't like how it played or felt but after i final worked it out i found it awesome. Hopefully this is the same.

Crytek demoed the DX11 version of Crysis 2 recently at some event. You can watch part of it off screen here. Looks like tessellation is in the bag. _________________

So, Crysis 2 has been pulled from Steam, no doubt as part of EA's bungled Origin plan. You still have a copy if you own it already, but you cant buy it over Steam anymore.
I'd take this as a warning to Steam fans that Battlefield 3 probably wont pop up there either.
Now, lets wait for EA to charge for the Crysis 2 DX11 patch, and/or make it Origin exclusive. _________________

Weird thing is Crysis 2 is still on other digital storefronts like GamersGate, Impulse and Direct2Drive...
Valve is an EA Partner too, so I'm not sure there would be any bad blood between them. Unless it's ridiculous corporate politics dictating that move of course. _________________

I am reading that the reason is because crysis is on those other services is why valve had it removed...ea says valve changed the terms so that games were to be exclusive on steam or not at all _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill

Steam has imposed a set of business terms for developers hoping to sell content on that service – many of which are not imposed by other online game services. Unfortunately, Crytek has an agreement with another download service which violates the new rules from Steam and resulted in its expulsion of Crysis 2 from Steam.
Crysis 2 continues to be available on several other download services including GameStop, Amazon, Origin.com and more." |
I wonder if just having the agreement or the terms of the agreement were the actual problem. There's plenty of other games available on Steam as well as other sites. At a guess I'd say Crysis 2 was available cheaper elsewhere, which Steam probably demands they have the price as low as any other storefront. _________________

It might have something to do with EA's own store...i wonder if the terms were more along the lines of "the publishers own download site" or something like that. _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill

There's loads of games on EA's Origin also on Steam - Dead Space 2, The Sims, Mass Effect... Anyway EA said it was Crytek who had the problem agreement. _________________

I enjoyed the SP I might play it through again with the new graphics patch, but the MP is dead.
I blame it on the fact that server stats didn't update in real time. I remember at one point there were a crap tonne of servers 0 people inside them, yet when I went inside there were 2-3 people. People don't want to enter a server alone, but they may if theres a few people inside it.
Also why were the MP games so short in the ranked games. Stupid imo. I don't see this reviving itself with a stable MP community akin to that of BC2 or black ops, for PC anyway. I dont know how it is for you console guys. _________________ xfire = andylulz
