Can hold only hold 2 weapons + Only Regenerative health. Sure other games used those systems but COD popularized it.
In R1, you could hold as many weapons as you could(soughta like that weapons wheel shown) and you had a mix of a Regenerative/Health Packs, which i liked, made the game challenging without making it a "I can just camp behind a wall when I'm about to die just to heal up to survive" lameness that most games have these days. Was pretty disappointed when i heard at the time they removed that in R2 to be honest.... _________________

| PS Blog wrote: | Resistance 3 Will Support 3D, PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter Thanks to Community Demand
Greetings from the fabulous Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, where weâre in the middle of Insomniacâs 3rd Annual Community Day. Weâve been letting fans get some of their first hands-on gameplay with Resistance 3 and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. Weâve also been showing cool demos and producing Q&As to bring you in the form of Full Moon Show podcasts in the coming weeks.
That said, today we are finally able reveal, due to overwhelming community demand, that Resistance 3 will support Stereoscopic 3DTV. Furthermore, those of you who are enjoying the precision of the PlayStation Move motion controller with your copies of Killzone 3 and the SOCOM 4 Beta will be delighted to know that Resistance 3 will also support PlayStation Move and the sharp shooter. After Killzone 3 launched, we heard a massive amount of positive feedback, and were inundated with requests to support both PlayStation Move and sharp shooter. So weâre glad to be able to finally confirm the news!
As you can see, our founder Ted Price and Resistance 3 Creative Director Marcus Smith are so pumped that they found 3D glasses and grabbed sharp shooters to pose for a photo (though we had to remind them that they need the cool high-tech stereoscopic 3D glasses to actually play, not those old âred-blueâ ones).
Resistance 3 hits your PS3 and 3D TV on September 6th, so have your sharp shooter ready! In the meantime, if you want to hear about all the latest happenings at our community day, follow us on Twitter (search for hashtag #InsomniacGames for some live contests!) to see or like us on Facebook. Weâll be posting audio and video from todayâs community event in the weeks to come, so keep checking in for all the latest. |

I remember 1 hit kill shotty only matches.I annihilated at those. One time I scored more than everyone else combined and another time I entered a match with only something like 5 minutes left and still ended up beating everyone.
I use to see how many consecutive wins I could get and I reached something like 10 or 20. _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

^ YES YES YES! One hit shotties at the bus yard! Oh, so so good!
Like yourself I was pretty good at one hit shotties, and it was pretty exhilarating when you held a narrow lead. To be honest, I think Resistance 1 multiplayer has not been beaten in an FPS since. And yes, I've played COD with some friends...it's good, but not bus yard one hit shotties Resistance good!
The level with on the ship was also really fun with one hit shotties. _________________

I didn't like one shot kills in R1. I used to own at unlimited ammo matches on the busyard where everyone just used the carbine's grenade launcher. Hell of a lot of fun. _________________

Once I got over 1 hit kills, I played nothing but standard ranked matches.1 hit kill matches were more for me during my play for fun days of the game.Once I moved from that and became a serious player, I couldn't really stand playing 1 hit kill matches. _________________ Welcome to the internet. It's real...
| Euro PS Blog wrote: | Resistance 3 Box Art Revealed
Today weâre proud to reveal the Resistance 3 box art that you can hold in your hands when the game hits store shelves in September. You should recognize right away that this graphic version of the Chimeran Skull with the New York skyline depicted as its teeth, as well as the stylized version of the Resistance franchise logo, isnât your typical ârendered heroâ box art. To create this new look, we partnered with Olly Moss, a talented British artist, to create a bold vision of the Resistance 3 boxart for both the North American and European territories.
The Resistance team worked closely with Olly to share our vision for the Chimera-occupied 1957, and Joesph Capelliâs journey across the destroyed USA to his destination, New York City. Youâll see this in the alternate version of the art below, which shows Capelli walking towards the NYC skyline.
We wanted Ollyâs work to reflect that in Resistance 3, YOU are the Resistance. Resistance 3 isnât a military shooter, as the United States Army and SRPA have been destroyed. Instead, R3 is about the remnants of humanity finding any way possible to survive in a brutal world.
This work coincides with Ollyâs first art show in Hollywood at the Gallery 1988 (which runs until May 20th, if youâre in the LA-area). Weâre excited about the new look of the box art and expect to see additional Resistance 3 art by Olly throughout the campaign. You can find out more info about Olly, and see more of his fantastic art, by checking out www.ollymoss.com.
You may have also heard that we will be bringing exclusive early access to a nearly half-hour single-player demo straight to your PS3 on June 14th! The demo will be included on specially-marked Blu-ray Disc copies of the Sony Pictures sci-fi action thriller Battle: Los Angeles (which you may recall from the now memorable Resistance 3 billboard spotted on a Sony film set). The demo level is the entire boat ride sequence of the game, as Joseph Capelli and Dr. Malikov discover a flooded town, infested with Chimera. We hope when you play it, youâll enjoy the small taste of the atmosphere, environmental story-telling and exciting action sequences youâll see in the final version of Resistance 3 in September. |

At first glance I was majorly put off by the cover. After looking at it a few more times though, it's not that bad.
It'll stand out on the shelves for sure. _________________

I'd like it better if they used the piece wit the character and footprints.
I think it would work quite well as a poster, or for a book cover. _________________

I like the design, the emblems and logos ruin it.
Would be better as a slip cover or tin case without all the other crap. _________________

So they have just announced today the editions that will be released for Resistance 3. There will be 3 different editions available. The standard, special and survivor editions. From the Playstation EU Blog. There is also a tonne details of the pre-order bonuses they have on the site too.
| Quote: |
Standard Edition:
Special Edition:
Next up we have the Resistance 3 Special Edition. This version of the game comes in a stunning steelbook case â packed with a voucher code for all of the pre-order items listed above.
Not only will this look awesome on your shelf, (the array of logos are on a perspex o-ring which you can remove) but this version will also come complete with a very cool âvinyl effectâ blu-ray disc (complete with the ribbed vinyl effect on the surface).
Survivor Edition:
Now last, but by no means least, we have the Resistance 3 Survivor Edition! This uber-bundle comes complete with the following content (as well as the Special Edition pack listed above):
Canvas satchel
Capelliâs rugged and reliable satchel, ideal for long journeys across the ravaged American landscape.
Chimera firing range target
Know your enemy; perfect your aim or take out your frustrations on this life-size Chimera target poster.
âFight for Freedomâ toy soldiers
Play out the battle on a small scale with these toy soldiers depicting Joseph Capelli and Chimera fighters.
Joseph Capelliâs Journal
Read Capelliâs notes on the journey ahead of him, the enemies heâll face and the weapons heâll use â and start writing your own story as you fight the Chimera.
SRPA hip flask
Keep the cold at bay or give yourself the courage to fight on with this standard issue SRPA soldierâs hip flask.
SRPA playing cards
Pass the time between battles with this deck of SRPA soldierâs playing cards.
Hereâs a visual for you to check out.
Weâll update with new images of the Survivor Edition (and its content) in due course â my personal favorite are the scarily cute Chimera toy soldiers â in the mean time though, hit me up in the comments below if you have any questions.
Resistance 3 will be coming exclusively to PS3 on 7th/9th September.

The survivor edition looks pretty awesome. I know that they will definitely be available in Australia through at least JB. Not sure if it is an exclusive or not. _________________

They're not bad. I've always enjoyed them but Im a bit of a sucker for Insomniac Games. They are very much a bit of a simple shooter but add in all the crazy ass weapons from ratchet and clank. Thats were I had a tonne of fun with this game. Resistance 2 was a massive improvement to 1 so i'd say probably worth at least checking that one out but since they are platinum these days they are probably easy to pick up cheap somewhere. _________________

Love the hip flask.
Just the SPRA logo on it and that's all. Simple, easy and great.
Those army men remind me more of Monster In My Pocket than Army Men. _________________
