Those looking to take advantage of these launch deals may have to act quickly, with sites like EB Games reporting that as little as 30 consoles are now left for pre-ordering online.

Oh wow. Now I'm really glad I pre-ordered mine in Feb. It wasn't at EB Games though. Obviously.

Any advice on best US import deals? Region locking me out of RPGs is discouraging a local purchase....... http://www.videogamesplus.ca/advanced_search_result.php?currency=AUD&keywords=nintendo+3ds+system&sort=2a&page=1 $301 with a launch title (pilot wings anyone?) - but $100 shipping kinda kills it.

Hearing a lot of headaches from some early adopters!

Will try it out in store before buying it.

So far PES2011 is the stand out for me!

Region Locking (not to mention other personal misgivings) is a big no sale for me.

There's really no must-buy launch games for me (Super Street Fighter IV is really the only one I'd actually definitely get) but I think I'm going to end up picking up a 3DS on Thursday, just because I have to have the latest console.

Once again EB completely misses the mark. Hopefully somewhere will offer the opportunity to play a demo one, so I can import from the US, as anyone who likes to actually play games should.

I have seen Target have a deal advertised instore, and have had for a while now. From memory, it is $339 (or $338) for the console, Expedition case, and a choice of 3 games (Rayman, Ghost Recon, and something else)

At The Good Guys:

I pre-ordered with them about a 2 weeks ago when they had the same deal but also included a free Expedition Case too. Also, by putting down a cash deposit, they gave $10 off the price (so $337 total).

The racing game shown is Ridger Racer btw, not Assphalt icon_razz.gif

At Target, all launch games are $55 each (including PES 2011)

@hinduguru, Now if you bundle $55 games at Target and the $288 Kmart 3DS, its actually costing you about the same as Good Guys.

WARNING - Do not buy Aussie 3DS if you don't want to pay anything more than $60 for a game!

You seriously need to consider an import!

The RRP for a 3DS game is $78. Check EB website!

Thats what Ninty have set!

If course retailers won't charge that. GAME website have $69 for upcoming top games.

The prices retailers are charging are heavily discounted games just for the launch! They really should be charging at least $69. Be prepared to pay at least that in the long run.

Bottom line, that's why its region locked! Coz Ninty know people would want to pay this and would import.

KMART is the best option for me, bonus, they open at 7am. $288 is a fine price as I want Ridge Racer with it.

Good guys with Ridge Racer would be $347, so $288 plus $59. No accessory pack. (or does it? Also says less for cash? Hmmm I work at 8:00am so Kmart will have to do.

Kmart with accesory pack + Ridge Racer should be $288 plus whatever they chage for the game (hopefully $59 or less).

BigW? Not a great deal unless you want the games they are offering.

Best deal, Kmart.

The catchoftheday deal has now been and gone. The thing sold out instantly, I got as far as logging into paypal but then the cotd server crashed and I couldn't get any further.

Looks like it's off to JB tomorrow!

The region lock isn't for making Australian gamers pay more, it's to protect local retailers and publishers set the price not "Nintendo".
