You could always trade with someone over the internet...or did you never get that working? _________________

I could never get it to work, Ads. It sucks and blows all at once. I don't know, I'm not an expert, but I tried almost everything, basically whatever people instructed me to do, and nothing seemed to make it work. Or there was always some obstacle.
When I had my own net, the DS worked fine, so it's kind of sad to not be able to have that option anymore ... and it seems that Pokemon BW is so WiFi intensive. _________________

No McDonalds nearby? They've all got free wifi, as far as I know. _________________

Not sure if Maccas works any more on DS, as you need to click an 'I accept" page now. _________________

Free Zorua eggs, free eggs! If anyone wants a Zorua egg (or hatched Level 1 Zorua), just let me know Just set myself up with a Litwick with Flame Body and tossed a Japanese Snivy into daycare with an English Zorua. I'm using the Masuda method to try and hatch a shiny.
EDIT: Also got a few Level 1 Tepig if anyone needs one.
EDIT 2: I'm now breeding Zorua with the unreleased Snarl move. This move cannot be obtained through any game at this point in time unless you can get hold of a Japanese pokemon that was given away over wifi. _________________

Been confirmed as OP ever since it's release in Japan. It's one of the most used Pokemon in online battle emulators.

This is kinda what pokemon talk looks to me these days because I'm soooooo out of whack with the new pokedex.
Am tempted to get black or white though... old habits die hard.
edit - I also now have urges to read cuddlepot & snugglepie stories again....

I was terrified of Cuddlepot & Snugglepie stories when I was younger. I loved them but the banksias were SO SCARY.
I have a new project: to get a whole lot of Cottonees from different OTs, each nicknamed by the OT. Anyone want to help me? _________________

After religiously playing Red/Blue/Gold/Silver when I was a kid, I got bored and completely disinterested in Pokemon. It's only when I did a bit of research that Black/White was more of a reboot than the previous 2 generations of games that got me interested again. I've never played the Gen 3 or 4 games and I probably never will.
As far as I know, as long as you played Gen 2, you'll have an easy grasp of the game, despite there being an extra 300+ new Pokemon that one would never have seen.
Gen 1'ers transitioning to Gen 4 may be a little slightly overwhelmed because of how much the types have changed (new weaknesses/resistances and the introduction of Dark/Steel) and the fact that most NPC trainers have Pokemon with moves to cover their weakness, but the core gameplay hasn't changed.
Need a good grass type to replace Serperior. I'd love to use my old school Venusaur but the effort of transferring all the way from Gen 1 is too much of a hassle.

Does the random encounter rate in this game tick anyone else off?
I am in some thunder cave and so far it's been like this.
"Ooooh a trainer" *walks two steps* *RANDOM ENCOUNTER*
"Urgh you little annoying thing again?!?" *runs*
"Now, to the trainer!" *walks three steps, RANDOM ENCOUNTER*
etc. etc.
Nothing like a little rage in the morning XD. _________________

It does seem higher than in times past, especially considering you get smashed around even by wild encounters a lot more than before. _________________

I know right? It's like "NO I DON'T WANT TO FIGHT YOU I HAVE TO SAVE MYSELF FOR THE TRAINER"
*RANDOM ENCOUNTER IN 2 STEPS*
Can't run, boom.
Walk all the way back to a healer.
Just a bit annoying is all, but I don't have the patience I had as a child. _________________

The Battle Subway.
This SINGLE MOST frustrating thing in any Pokemon game. Game is complete hax, it's the only way that the opponents can win. Focus Blast hitting TWICE IN A ROW, TWO GAMES IN A ROW. This is one 20th/21st battle, so I was just about to get some nice BP. BUT NO, FOCUS BLAST HIT TWICE IN A ROW AND RUINED MY STREAK.
Can they just make one where it's not all just hax and the percentages of hitting are actually genuine? _________________

I agree with the encounter rate increase comments, however I think the routes are also shorter. Even so, I've actually been using repels in some of the caves, where I never used to. Wild encounters seem so much more deadly this gen, I think it's because tackle was beefed up and because pokes seem to learn better moves at lower levels.
EDIT: Some, not Done. Stupid Autocorrect.

I'd LOVE a Zorua/Zorua egg. Whatever's easier. I'll send you a PM about it Monday night if it's okay.

I did start playing Black And I love it, feels fresh and new. But you are right, those random encounters smash you up like a bitch, keep having to go back and rest my pokemon up.

I'm going to get through Heartgold first. A few Pokemon I'll want to bring over to White.
Can you trade old Pokes over at anytime in White?
