I think it's counting each user and each time the song was downloaded.
So if user A shared song B, to user C it would be one payment. If user A then shared song D with user E it would be another payment. If User A shared song B but with User E this time it would be another payment.
Basically I think they're working it so they can get the most ridiculous amount of money possible.
No idea how many users Limewire had, I used it once and it hurt to pee for like a month after.

"Deleting the data has always been our priority, and we're happy the CNIL has given permission for us to do so," he added in a statement. |

Fine then, I don't understand how data they collected accidentally because of unsecured networks and deleted as soon as they found out about it counts as an invasion of privacy.

Just because people are too stupid to put passwords on their wifi doesn't make it legal to steal information from it. Sure they deserve it due to stupidity, but it's still against the law.

Doesn't stealing require intent? This was an accident due to the way there systems were set up. They got rid of it as soon as they found out they had it.
It's the equivalent of taking someones bag when you think it's yours realizing you've got the wrong one then giving it back.
