a similar sort of thing happened to a mate of mine at high-school - he was the big guy in the red shirt from that video.
eventually snapped, picked up and threw the "lad" across the classroom, into the whiteboard, then just packed up his stuff and went to the deputy principals office where he was suspended.
it was awesome. _________________

Copy this into the Location Bar while you're browing a website, then roll it up Katamari style.
| Code: | | javascript:var i,s,ss=['http://kathack.com/js/kh.js','http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5.1/jquery.min.js'];for(i=0;i!=ss.length;i++){s=document.createElement('script');s.src=ss[i];document.body.appendChild(s);}void(0); |
This is almost too awesome. _________________

They showed that story on 7 news tonight. Apparently the boy being bullied has been given alot of praise for his actions, and the bully has received several death threats.
Both boys were suspended for 2 weeks.
I think it sux the boy being bullied got suspended. All he did was stand up for himself and react after being punched several times, at least once to the head.
What sort of message is the school sending buy suspending him? "If your being bullied do nothing and just keep copping abuse by bullies"? _________________

Obviously, kids at school, at least where I went {maybe public schools are a lot more blazej??}, are told that if they are being bullied, they tell their teacher; or their parents who can then discuss it with their teacher. Technically, what the kid/s did was assault; so suspension of both is fair I would've thought.

One of the first thing bully's in the school yard do is terrify the kid being bullied, to not tell anyone what happened.
Even when kids report it, very little is done. The bully denies it and its one kids word against the other, and the bullying just gets worse. _________________

Not wishing to drag the funny links thread into a debate about bullying, but do you seriously think it is a good idea to encourage victims of bullying to take matters into their own hands? Maybe put on some trench coats, rock up to school with some pipe bombs... slippery slope, my friend, a very slippery slope indeed...

LOL if what he did was so bad, then why was it posted in the funny links thread in the first place.
Everyone has there own opinion, but personally when I saw that vid I was disturbed at first seeing that kid being bullied with bystanders doing nothing to stop it, and one filming it. When he picked him up and slammed him to the ground it was very satisfying.
Surely there should be enough nerds on this website to understand this. If not maybe you were one of those school yard bully's in the past? _________________

Slippery slope perhaps, but doing nothing gets you nowhere. In the example above, chucking the kid on the ground is very different to a pipe bomb.

For the record:
*I was bullied all through school (I'm a redhead, I still cop shit for it...).
*I always stood up for myself, rarely resorting to anything approaching violence (I mastered sarcasm at an early age and could run really fast).
Also, while I can see the humour in the video, I don't believe it belonged in the funny links thread.
This version, however, is fine...
Dang, go ahead, duke it out in the quad for all I care...

What was the damage to the bully anyway? In the video I'd say slight concussion; but above he's on crutches.
I didn't see the story on Channel 7 tonight.... _________________

^ Another satisfying video. Look at the bully get beat up haha awesome!
I was bullied alot in primary school. Once my father learned about it he taught me to box, i also trained and boxed at a local gym.
Long story short. I had a couple of incidences like the above in high school, after that no one dared to touch me. _________________

No it's sending the message "If you get into fights you will be suspended" It's a pretty clear cut rule.
He got into fight, he got suspended. That shit happens all the time. My sister got suspended for way less.

All he did was suplex a kid half his size onto a concrete floor head first. You seriously don't see that as reason to get suspended. He could have quiet easily snaped that kids neck if he'd landed wrong. Paralysing him, maybe worse. He's fucking lucky he didn't do any serious damage.
Get in fight at school = get suspended. That's how it's always worked. _________________
