Best Preorder Bonus???

So i thought id create a thread regarding the best freebies, that people have gotten/collected from preordering a game..This does not include special editions/limited edition of games, just the bonus itself ( unless the special/limited edition is a preorder bonus). Pics are welcome!!!!, If you can include the game it came with, where it was preordered ( JB, Eb, Game ETC)and what the preorder bonus is and its content that would be fantastic!! Codes/figures/soundtrack!!

So i thought id start off with what i thought was the best preorder bonus i have gotten/collected..Will post pics in a bit

Although its just 2gb, i espicially loved how weighty the USB felt, it wasnt some cheap material..

My Sackboy I got for pre-ordering LBP2 from EB before the 11th on Jan or some month.

I also really like the bag/backpack thing that I got with Splatterhouse for pe-ordering the game from EB.

Only bonus I think I ever got was a poster and DVD with Metal Gear Solid 4. The DVD was a surprise though so I already bought it a week before not knowing and therefore had two copies.

See, the thing that annoys me about pre-order bonuses, is that most of the time they're never really that good.

EB Games had the following on offer for pre-ordering with them:

Fifa 11: EA Plush soccer ball
Bullet Storm: Water Pistol
WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011: DLC Bonus
Need for Speed Hot Persuit: DLC Bonus

IMO, I rarely pre-order unless it comes with something good. However, the last few years, these pre-order bonuses have been a bit crappy, no matter where you pre-order them from for whatever games. It's usually better to get the "Limited Edition" versions if you want decent bonuses {eg: COD Prestige Editions; Assassins Creed Special Editions; Gran Turismo 5 Special Editions; and more recently the Duke Nukem Special Edition}, despite paying a bit more.

Sorry if this is a bit OT, but just thought I'd share my two cents

I agree preorder Bonuses these days havent been the best, i got the Bulletstorm Watergun yesterday and its just an ordinary watergun with the logo Bulletstorm stickered on...

But then on the other hand, my thinking is that if your gonna get the game on release, then might aswell preorder it and get some bonuses with it, espcially since most of the time you can price match and pay the same price as other retailers and get something else for free...but then theres also the problem where retailers have exclusive preorder bonuses eg, with red dead redemption ( EB - Warhorse DLC, Game- Golden GUn DLC, and Jb with Outfit dlc )

So far ive been preordering at the same place, and they honored the price match and still gave me the preorder bonus, not too sure about other ebs but i remembered when EB had the 4 cans of V if you preordered black ops, and people who went in the afternoon had to pay full RRP to get em. I was told it was because of the limited stock, and high numbers of preorder, but me and a mate, when there 9AM and got em eventhough we price matched..

Generally its up to the store manager/people who serve you...but i find JB would always honor the price match ( although most of the time its the cheapeest anyways), and still give you the preorder bonus...

I got 1500 MS Points FREE when i picked up my Stranglehold CE (360) pre-order way back when at EB Games. It wasn't an advertised/storewide deal but the clerk at this storesaid they were giving them away free for those who pre-ordered the game!

Wow free MS points, that awesome, reminds me of the preorder bonus of kane & Lynch 2 From Game last year, but you had to pay like $110, so probably not that worth it...

I reckon that f1 usb is the best preorder bonus from EB ive gotten, 95% of the time eb gives out some random code, plus i was glad it wasnt like the medal of Honor USB that JB were giving out as preorder bonus...

War figure for preordering darksiders at JB was the best.

Bayonetta gun was pre order bonus but that got screwed up so I did not get it.

No more heroes 2 got t-shirt

borderlands got a shirt or cap I think

little sister for bioshock 2 at GAME

Few guides like super mario galaxy collectors and metroid prime etc for pre order at JB

You get yakuza 3 if you preorder 4 at JB

I could probably go on for a while, but there are quite a few decent pre order bonus items that have popped up over the years. It seems they are slowing down a bit recently however

Got to stand in line being offered donuts that I didn't want and V cans that I wouldn't drink for an hour to get Mass Effect 2. I'd say it was the first and only "launch" I'll ever attend.

I rarely preorder, though I'll occasionally pick up the preorder bonuses at later dates. That's not to say I do anything in particular to get them, but stores sometimes have leftover preorder stock that Johnny-come-latelys like myself get.

The best is definitely my blob figurine that I got from JB with the original de Blob. He's very charismatic and has a permanent home on top of one of the speakers in the living room.

It's a pity that EB seemed to be the only place offering the figures this time round with de Blob 2. I'd have been all over that except that I didn't want to pay EB's preorder price. I'll just settle for all the soundtrack CDs I seem to be getting at the moment.

I haven't really pre-ordered a lot of stuff over the years as I like to see reviews for games before I spend my money. I'm a sucker for limited editions though, especially if they have a soundtrack. Thankfully limited editions can usually be found quite easily for a short time after release without too much trouble (or an increase in price).

Best pre-order stuff for me would probably be my Tales of the Abyss laser cell, Baten Kaitos wallscroll & Scarborough Fair replica. I'm also quite fond of the funny little Viewtiful Joe 2 clock I got with the game, but that was included with every copy they sold at play-asia for a while rather than being a pre-order bonus.

I stand corrected.

I will go with Undisputed 2010 then, getting 4 guys from the Ultimate Fighter (mainly for Nelson and Schaub) along with Pulver, Severn and Gracie. Not sure the latter 3 were to do with the pre-order, might have been a PS3 exclusive, but still great straight-off-the-bat DLC.

Banjo Kazooie XBLA from EB when preordering Nuts & Bolts. I didn't even have to buy anything, just asked if they had any left over and got one.

Dick Smith Black Ops bullet USB stick was decent as well. Really solid.

Don't pre-order as the games are too expensive but would have loved Sackboy. Shame I don't have a PS3.

The best thing I ever got was when I bought my XBOX 360 the dude went in the back room and got me a selection of games that were meant to have been handed out with the xbox over the last 6 months. Got Kung Fu Panda, Lego Indiana, PGR, Lego Batman, Sega Superstars Tennis, some MX vs ATV. I told him I had kids so he found what he could. Best bonus ever!!

I pay attention to pre-order bonuses like you wouldn't believe and some of the bonuses of late have been really good, sometimes better than the game itself.

Doctor Who on the Wii gave you a Sonic Screwdriver Wii-Mote worth RRP $79.95 for pre-ordering, much better than the game itself.

Epic Mickey gave you a figurine from EB or a Nunchuk from Big W.

Scribblenauts Hat would definitely be rated up there as one of the best in terms of creativity, design and not looking or feeling cheap.

Fallout 3 and Splinter Cell Conviction gave some really nice extras as well.

Some good pre-order bonuses of late would have to be the Yakuza 4 Ichiban Box, Enslaved Soundtrack, DLC and Mini Comic combo, Artbooks for Ar Tonelico Qoga and Hyperdimension Neptunia, Tactics Ogre Tarot Card (pretty good quality) and what I think is the best pre-order going around at the moment - The Witcher 2 Premium Edition with DLC, Laser Mouse and Mouse Pad as a bonus.

So Street date for Homefront has been broken, and i picked up my preorder from JB...

The novel is around 300pages long which isnt bad in my opinion, plus it came with exlcusive weapon skins aswell as a preorder incentive..

So i got another question, do people prefer physical bonus ( figures/novel/Maps) or Digital contents (exclusive codes for soundtrack, maps, weapons etc)?? And if there is a specific preorder item which stoodout, post em here!!!

I'd rather have physical items. Digital stuff it always feels like they might release it/you might be able to to get it later, plus I like actually being able to hold/feel something (don't read that the wrong way!). It's the same reason I prefer to buy CDs rather than buying music off iTunes or something.
