Well TNA was supposed to come to Aus in early 2010 but they cancelled that tour when they went to Monday night shows to try to compete with Raw. Even though the Monday shows have stopped they haven't organised an Aussie tour since which is disappointing.

Yeah I was bummed about that. They even had Jeff Jarrett appear on Rove in Late '09 to promote it.

Mayb this year is the year - they are travelling out of the iMPACT! zone for a few dates apparently for episodes during the year.

That's one thing I personally reckon WWE have been doing a really good job of lately. Spinning in Alex Riley's real life DUI into the mix a couple of months ago, but probably went a bit far with the whole Cole/Lawler/Lawler's deceased mother angle last week.

Does Vince really think that Cole is doing a good job as a colour commentator? I personally can't stand him at all anymore and can't see any benefit it's giving the business (other than Miz possibly.)

And I found a wikipedia link which is a pretty interesting read:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wrestling_Observer_Newsletter_awards

Most of it is pretty damn spot on (Michael Cole voted worst commentator 2 years running). It details various awards across every single wrestling faction known to man from best/worst commentator, to best/worst fueds, most underrated and overrated wrestlers, and even includes UFC. Amazing Daniel Bryan is finally getting the exposure he deserves (voted best technical wrestler for like 6 years or something crazy), and I was blown away at some of the worst storylines I missed when I didn't watch any wrestling for a few years. Like the Lita/Kane **** angle, shockingly hilarious, glad I wasn't watching this crap back then!

I expect CZW to take out a couple of awards after the HE'S USING HYPNOSIS! video.

Oh and I saw we were talking about chicks on the previous page. Pity that nothing will ever come close to the mighty Stacey Keibler, she was seriously my dream girl back in WWE's pinnacle reign, best entrance of any wrestler, ever (dat ass *slap*). Can't stand Stratus.

As much as I love wrestling, I'll never ever pay to go and see it.

Enough from me, off to watch raw.

edit: Yeah we know it's fake, but at least try to hide the piece of paper on the laptop keyboard during the GM announcements ay. Poor form.

I see this on forums all the time; with people responses being: "The guy is a heel, of course you're supposed to hate him/punch the TV/change the channel etc.; therefore, Cole must be doing a good job."

Either way, it certainly beats his stale 11 year run as face commentator/backstage interviewer. Plus, I like The Miz, so it doesn't bother me as much when he stands up to applaud when Miz makes his entrance or wins.

I was never a fan of Keibler. I was more of a Torrie Man icon_wink.gif

And loved watching this when I was 14 icon_lol.gif

If you like Stacey dude, watch TNA - The Beautiful People are mighty close to her level:

Its better on TV though, they do it for longer.... icon_smile.gif

Agreed about Stratus though. Is she back for good? Or was it just a once off appearance?

You really kinda should. It's so much better than how it comes accross on TV, you really do get your moneys worth for the 3 hours dude....

I'm hot and cold on Cole.

On one hand this is the most entertaining he's ever been but on the other he's burying talent - I had no issue when it was with Bryan because I thought it would eventually serve a purpose but when he just started bagging an entire show, division and other wrestlers it became too much.

He'd still be my pick for best play by play in the world (not saying too much these days).

Hottest diva ever? Got to go Stacey, currently? Lacey Von Erich.

Other nominees...

Missy Hyatt (back in the day, now she looks kind of like Linda Hogan)
Sunny (back in the day, although she's improved)
Torrie Wilson (some of those outfits...)

O Really? Seems kinda pointless she left TNA then; I wouldn't mind seeing her on TV again.

Oh, and Layla is dating Cody Rhodes apparently - who would've thought????

Pretty sure thats how it all started Re: Cody Rhodes. The Divas genuinely thought he was hot or whatever, ended up in a relationship with Layla, and eventually used it as an angle on the show. Love the way it's going though, was hilarious when he had the nose brace on with all the shadows cast over him when he last appeared on Raw, I reckon it's the beginning of a darker heel turn.

And meh on those diva entrances, they're certainly nothing special, if anything it's derivative of Stacey's entrance anyway. The reason I didn't like Torri is because I find her too much of a generic blonde. Absolutely love Stacey because she isn't built like a brick s***house like all the others. Nice and petite with no muscle, just the way I like 'em.

And I wholeheartedly agree with Big Pete. As much as heels are needed, overall you want a more positive vibe with the show as a whole. And with 'the voice of the wwe' being a major heel at the moment, at times I just feel like turning it off because I just can't stand what he has to say. I personally like Striker as a commentator, and can definitely see CM punk sitting in the chair when he's had enough of being inside the ring. He's just too funny and very quick witted.

Johnny Curtis just won NXT, if anyone cares.

I was disappointed with the result to be honest. WWE don't need another generic white 6 foot something wrestler with no charisma. The Big Show, Mark Henry, Kane, and Undertaker are looking to retire this year or next year at the very latest. Vince needs to start building up a dominating monster to replace them - Clay could've been that monster.

The way I see it, Curtis needed the rub more, as did R-Truth.

I mean out of the last three candidates you had...

Derrick Bateman who's pro should be above the tag division.

Brodus Clay who's pro is main eventing Mania.

and Curtis who's pro is a gatekeeper for all the up and comers.

If the comp. was legit, I would have given it to Clay, he's got potential in the ring and man oh man is he good on the mic. That promo he cut on NXT was fantastic, it really got good heat.

I don't think R-Truth needed a rub - hes already a former US champ and over with the crowd, as well as been in several main event PPVs. If anyting, R-Truth needs to be pushed IMO.

And I too enjoyed Clays promo after the results today. He kinda hinted a return in the not-too-distant future, so we'll hopefully see him repackaged in a few months....

Truth has got nothing to do though, saddling him up with a rookie is a superior option than Bryan or Del Rio who both have more to offer.

Well TNA: Victory Road was on today. Although the card was great, there has been much uproar over Jeff Hardy rocking up stoned for the main event. {when a video becomes available on youtube, I'll post it}. Heres the low down:

You saw Bischoff come out and make it a No DQ match and Sting nail Bischoff, after about 5 minutes of Hardy taunting the crowd by waving his shirt around before throwing it, a tie-up occurs and Sting hit the boot and a Scorpion Death Drop and it was over, the actual wrestling part lasted 1:28. Jeff tried to kick out at 2.5, but Sting held him down for a full 3 count. This was a huge let down to people that wanted to see a good solid wrestling match by these two, even Sting on his way up the ramp, a fan said "That is a f***ing rip off" and Sting is heard saying "I know I know".

The crowd seemed fuming. I would be too if I bought it on PPV. Thoughts? Should Jeff be fired?

Dude needs help for sure. Doesn't help his court case has been delayed for the past 18 months. He should've served time in the North Carolina jail - he could've been out nw and his head straight. Not really a role model for his daughter.

I didn't see the PPV; but it infuriates me how talented and varied TNAs roster is, and the potential they have, only for it to be wasted on stuff like this. Sting v Hardy could've been a monumental match if put men put their all in {I know Sting would've} and was properly built up, not jus announced a week before the PPV - it's just so disappointing how unstructured and unorganised the company is icon_mad.gif

Sting shouldn't even be champion.

They've got a promising roster, they just don't know how to book them.

Wow, that's just disgraceful really, trying to find the replay now but no luck so far.

So what's the deal with it exactly? Surely it was agreed to go for longer than that? I don't care how stoned you are, you can still co-ordinate yourself enough to kick-out (especially a veteran druggie like Hardy), did Sting intentionally pin him down so he couldn't physically get up or something? What a joke, get rid of him.

Road to Wrestlemania is getting quite boring now. Smackdown show is basically a Raw highlight reel, and I'm sick of the back-and-forth between HHH/Taker, Miz/Rock.

Was cool to see Edge and Christian finally get back together, but it was a damn shame they didn't use their old entrance theme and walkout.

Same. Usually someone posts one on youtube in the coming hours. All I can find is the promo package for the match. If anyone finds the match, please pot it here icon_smile.gif

Well, apparently the PPV finished after 1 hour 46 minutes; usually PPVs run 2.5-3 hours long. I think it was just shorter than the abysmal December 2 Dismember PPV; and yes, Sting did keep Hardy down for the 3.

I don't watch WWE, too much Alberto Del Rio for my liking. But at least Christian is moving up in the world - finally!
I heard that the writers don't want HHH/'Taker or anyone else for that matter to reference the Wrestlemania X7 match between the two, which is silly. Maybe that's why the promos have been so weak?

EDIT: Here is the video, if this gets taken down from Youtube, PM me as I have saved it to my hard drive:

There's certainly something very shifty about it. I feel that they sent out Eric Bischoff to tell Sting to just end it quickly, possibly after management found out that Hardy was on drugs. Not sure what exactly, certainly looked like he was on something. Sure, he's a heel, but the way he was staggering around with that shirt for an eternity looked pretty awkward. Sting definitely used excessive force on the pin and Hardy was clearly trying to kick out. There's just no way that this was all pre-planned.

Wish there was just a mass exodus from TNA.

Seeing so many talented people getting handled like idiots just makes you wonder how much money is being drained.

It's like a new WCW without the success.
