Different game, different mechanics. The block button has been around since first MK, so I don't get why you're saying, "back in SF" like the former isn't some age old mechanic like the latter.

Besides the block button is necessary otherwise everyone with teleport moves becomes too good and there's a lot of them.

^That. If the block button was based on holding back, it'd be the most annoying fighter ever. Those teleport moves will destroy you unless you've got cybernetic reflexes.

Robo Smoke ->-> LK = teleport punch win.
I beat MK trilogy only using that move.

honestly I'm gunna find it weird going back to blocking with a button since I've been playing so many japanese fighters lately. That said its how MK rolls, it's never tried to be street fighter and I think it's better for it.

Scorpion would instantly become the best character in the game because his X-Ray attack is a teleport punch.

I honestly don't think X-ray can be turned off as its the equivalent to SF4's super or ultra move. If you don't fancy it, simply use the super bar for either your breaker(combo escape) or for EX moves.

Just had a look over at Play-Asia, and found that when clicking on the Mortal Kombat products, that it comes up with a 'this product is not available in your territory'. Rules it out as a import source if the appeal doesn't work.

360 has been region locked before, Army of Two was on 360. If its true seems like the developer has the power to do it irrespective of console.

I don't think they will be getting it in, if they do it will be on the hush-hush (not heavily promoted). Read something similar on whirlpool stating as much.
