That's because Nintendo specifically tie the reigon locking into the copy protection so that they can claim that anything that hacks the game to remove reigon locking (Legal in most places) is being used for piracy (Illegal in most places) and they can get them blocked.

Haha wow, it's identical to the one on the DSi, so um. No it really isn't.
Homebrew music player:
Supports custom track lists
Reads multiple file types, MP3, OGG, ACC etc etc
Can use the shoulder buttons to skip tracks/pause/rewind etc while the console is closed
DSi Music player (And what looks to be identical in the 3DS)
Lets you mark three differnt symbols on each track and then play just those symbols, 2 of the symbols let you mark as many as you want, one only lets you mark 10. So as far as custom play lists go. You can have two normal ones, and one list of 10 and that's it.
Reads ACC files, nothing else
Shoulder buttons are used to add a snare drum or a mario jumping sound or something completly unimportant, can't skip tracks, pause etc with console closed.
Has cool visulisations.
So yeah, fuck that music player, it sucks. _________________

By the looks of things, the mario visualisation is gone making the 3DS music player significantly less than the value of Awesome. Though I think the only reason I actually spent any time playing with the mario visualisation was because you can't multitask on the DSi or skip songs without opening up the system so you might as well make mario jump a few times while you're at it. _________________

I know some folk were a little concerned that Pilotwings: Resort only had three vehicle, but the Eurogamer review reveals it has six. You can use;
* Hang glider
* Plane
* Rocket belt
* Pedal glider
* Jet plane
* Squirrel suit _________________

I use my iPod for music so I wouldn't even care if the 3DS had no music player at all. I wont ever use it seriously.
Anyway, 3DS in Japan has already had a firmware update.
Major changes from 1.1.0-1J updates to
● improved system stability
More comfortable way to enjoy, and will improve the overall stability of the system.
● Since when updating communications capabilities
We extend some of the ability to receive data, such as Oshirase.
● Improved network connectivity
And other wireless Internet access in some Nintendozon, sometimes can not communicate it made measures.
● "3D images of live music, " added
Delivering music is "Super Mario Brothers Theme" in, O. Kondou Hiroshi was responsible for the Super Mario series composer (piano) is playing with studio musicians.
Hopefully this means a more aggressive approach from Nintendo in adding stuff to the system. _________________

Already an update? That's good things to come in my book. Even though It looks like it ran through google translate.
Hopefully they continue to upgrade throughout the lifespan of the 3DS.
I also hope it doesn't turn out like the Wii, where most updates, I noticed little to no change. _________________ "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

Almost every consumer device on the market does this, as they don't manufacture all units at the same time (and thus they can't all be flashed with the same, up to date firmware).
It's not a special 3DS thing or anything; device manufacturers just focus on having the core of the firmware ready before launch and getting the consumers to update it on launch day when they've fleshed it out more. It's more of a cost-cutting, delay-reducing mechanism than anything. _________________

From Nintendo we're only getting Nintendogs+Cats and Street Fighter (which they're publishing, for some reason). Europe is getting Pilot Wings, and we're getting screwed. _________________

Sadly I had to cancel my preorder due to an extreme lack of money (read: bond and rent) and as such I have to wait until July and my tax return to get one. Still, this means Ocarina of Time should hopefully be out when I order my console. _________________

I just hope that you'll actually be able to get a console. Hopefully stocks will be more stable by then. _________________

Worst case scenario I'll just have to wait a while longer again. Just means I'll be able to build up more cash and more games will be out for it I guess. _________________

Is there at least a date for it? It's the perfect launch title. 3D air fun! _________________ Shin J Leon.

So far we've heard nothing about an Aus release.
You can import from the UK if you want, It'll ship on the 25th, so you'll get it fairly close to the 3DS date.
Otherwise, we just have to wait and see. _________________ "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

There's some new screenshots of Mega Man Legends 3, but as they're from an old build, they're pretty hideous. Example:
Well, at least it's in development! _________________
