well it's not all that groundbreaking graphically, we've already seen the engine on the iphone.

Depends on your definition of groundbreaking - Infinity Blade looks pretty damn amazing.

That said it's not the graphics that matter, it's the fact that Unreal Engine 3.0 is one of most used middleware engines; quite a few games use it, even those you may not expect (Mass Effect 2, for instance).

Add to the fact that their UDK freely downloadable for everyone, and you see a lot of amazing potential for Indy developers to produce games for the PSN; instead of learning a new programming language and system from scratch, they can just choose to compile it for the NGP. Although Sony isn't the most open system for indy developers, there's a lot more opportunity here then there is for independent development on the 3DS.

^Oh don't get me wrong Infinity Blade looks great (actual game though.. meh); I just meant that we've already seen what 3.0 is capable of on a portable device, it's kind of a hint that PSP2 will be a bit more powerful than current apple devices.

I'm quite interested to see how this goes on a dedicated handheld console, because as you are saying if this takes off well- the chances are that I will get a PSP2
