To sum up i want a new smash brothers lol |
Nintendo seem to only want to release 1 Smash brother's game per generation.
I'm not certain, but i don't think there's a Smash Brothers on DS? If not, I doubt they'll make one for the 3DS.
And the games that do get yearly releases have turned to crap. The last CoD worth playing was 4.

What awful line up from Nintendo. Seems I'll may have to wait until there is a decent game that show cases the 3DS. Still I don't have a DSi so I can play games from that generation first instead.
If Sony or MS decided to release a new console like this with a crap line up it would fail miserably.

From what I got as a response last night at a product night for work, these are not likely to be the only titles at launch. Though I wasn't able to get a direct answer from the region rep. our starting lineup is likely to be that of the UK version which is:
* Pilotwings Resort
* Nintendogs + Cats: Golden Retriever
* Nintendogs + Cats: French Bulldog
* Nintendogs + Cats: Toy Poodle
* Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition
* The Sims 3
* PES 2011 3D
* LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
* Ridge Racer 3D
* Super Monkey Ball 3D
* Samurai Warriors: Chronicles
* Asphalt 3D
* Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars
* Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D
* Rayman 3D
(List thanks to Joystiq)

^ Yeah, read the article or the thread again. This is just the games published by Nintendo. There will obviously be more than two launch games. _________________

The fact we get Samurai Warriors Chronicles and Rayman 3D is enough to satisfy my 3DS needs for now. Besides, there's like a dozen games being released over the next month or so I want so I really couldn't careless. _________________

was at least hoping for dead or alive, but samurai warriors can take hours and hours if I need a game to play so I am not too fussed.
Oh and yes there was no smash bros on DS, but that was probably cause it could not handle it. The 3ds however is meant to have wii like capapbilities. The n64 smash had A LOT of slow down and with a small screen a ds smash would not have been great.
The 3ds however would benifit greatly with a smash bros even if it was a port of brawl it would sell like crazy. The game had a lot to do and if they add street pass etc and make online more then an after thought it could be the best hand held game for a lot of people _________________

I have a shit ton of great games of varying genre, style, and content. Its funny how people always bitch about Nintendo milking they're franchises when most every other publisher is just as bad, and in some cases worse. I'll take variety over three - four entries in the same friggen franchise in a single generation. Talk about creative stagnation. _________________

The N64 Smash didn't have any slowdown at all, in fact it had pared-down models just to make it go flawlessly. The GAMEPLAY was much slower and strategic, but there wasn't any slowdown there, so the DS could have easily handled a Smash game.
As to the line-up, it's no worse than any other launch line-up. If anything, it has at least three guaranteed 'good' games - Pilotwings, people - Nintendogs is good and Street Fighter is a good port, as well as Samurai Warriors and Ridge Racer. They might not be the games YOU'RE interested in, but I wouldn't call all of them crap either. _________________ I stayed up all night playing poker with tarot cards. We dont have Pilotwings for launch. The US has Pilotwings and Steel Diver, EU has one of those two, and Aus has neither. _________________

Googol - not sure which smash brothers you played. Go back to it and play a match and get a snorlax. The game slows down a lot. A ds smash could have been made, but it could not have been made well. It also seems like fighting games are the game of choice on the 3ds with streetfighter, dead or alive and blazblue already. All which were not on the DS for a reason. We also do not know if samurai warriors is being released either. There have only been a handful of 3rd party games revealed
Super Monkey Ball 3D, Pro Evolution Soccer 3D, The Sims 3DS and LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars are all confirmed as launch titles. That is all so far. The launch is decent but not at all by nintendo standards. This reminds me more of a playstation launch really. I am not complaining I still have many DS games to finish and have my 3ds pre ordered and there are so many games being made that the 3ds will make everyone broke by the end of the year _________________

Why do they want to release it so early with such a bad lineup of games? Wouldn't it be better to push the release back a couple of months? Or am I missing something obvious? _________________

I think it's pretty safe to add some Ubisoft titles to that list as well, considering Dick Smith only have Rayman 3D, Rabbids 3D and Ghost Recon 3D available for pre order at the moment I expect they will make launch as well. Especially considering they have been bundling consoles with those three games with expected shipping on the 30/01/11, it will look bad it they delayed the shipment of consoles because they bundles games that weren't available. _________________

Because its only a 'bad' lineup for us gamer type people. Nintendogs is Nintendo's number one seller on the DS - and they've got its sequel ready for the 3DS successors launch. Thats a money making right there - and thats all they care about.
The third party lineup is not all that likely to get better in a couple of months, either. _________________

Whoops, you're right. Well, another one bites the dust I guess.
And el, yeah I guess it slows down when you get a Snorlax, but I seriously don't notice slowdown with the game in general. Maybe I just have a high tolerance for that sort of thing? _________________ I stayed up all night playing poker with tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died. — Steven Wright

Sorry Nintendo but no Pilotwings or Kid Icarus at launch means no launch purchase. See you in six months for your "holiday period" releases.

There's nothing that says smash bros has to be in 3D. A 2D sprite based smash bros would be amazing. _________________

I still think smash brothers would not work on DS. The amount of content on the disc made it need to go dual layer. Having four enemies on the screen bunch of pokemon and assist trophies as well as moving level would be too much for a DS to handle if you ask me. Maybe I am right maybe im wrong or maybe Im trying to make an excuse for some kind of hope that we will get a smash on 3ds lol _________________
