You make a convincing argument. I spose I'll end up buying Black and then trading it in for some sorta discount off Grey.
I only thought they might not bother to make Grey because of the 3DS. |
They could always make it for 3DS.

I suppose so, but wouldn't their efforts be better spent on starting a new set of games for the 3DS?
And not having to basically remake the same game?
I do think that they could always just have a one last hoorah for the DS once the 3DS really takes over. _________________ "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

Everyone is saying to buy Black instead of waiting for Grey. Is there no love for White? Im a little late to the details for B/W (self imposed ban so I don't spoil the experience when I get it). Is there something major that trumps Black over White?
Also unfortunately, after not having the net for a little while I noticed that the shiny beasts have come and gone pretty much. Did any happen to get any spare event Raikou and Entei that they have no need for and happy to give away? _________________

There's no real reason, some decide on the Legendaries, others on the version exclusives. I went with Black cause my friend is going to get White. There are also more differences this time around, and some people have decided on that. _________________ "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

Without getting too spoilery, all I will say is that each game has an exclusive area. These areas are different in each game. I honestly don't believe either area is better than the other, but they are quite different. I'll leave it to you to decide if you want to know more.

I actually think White is the better choice. That 'exclusive area' in Black is quite lacking unless you have a bunch of real life friends playing Pokemon, apparently. Plus the cover legendary of White looks better than the one on Black. I think White will ultimately end up being the more popular one, though, and I do like to go for the 'different' one. So I don't know.
....I'll pretty much just go into the store and grab the first one I see. _________________

It's the same for both exclusive areas, not just Black. _________________ "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

As far as my understanding goes...
SPOILERS I GUESS
...White Forest is populated with wild Pokemon, Black City is populated with trainers - BUT those trainers are based on other players you interact with in real life (they had similar things in previous generations). Players encountered online will not populate the city. And so, assuming you don't know (m)any people playing in real life, Black City stays relatively empty - whereas White Forest will be full of Pokemon either way.
Correct me if I'm wrong. _________________

Well on serebii it writes...
POSSIBLE SPOILER
"In order to change the Pokemon and/or trainers you encounter [in black city or white forest], you need to connect to the Entralink and they will begin migrating to your version. If you go to Black City while playing White, the base form Pokemon of the trainers you speak to will appear in White Forest and if you go to White Forest while playing Pokemon Black, the wild Pokemon you encounter in the game will cause the trainer with the fully evolved forms to appear in your game."
No it works both ways. Not only that but you need to at least enter the area every 2 days to keep the wild pokemon or trainers there. Its a sort of a growth thing, if you enter and interact with the town and its people, your town continues thriving, if you ignore it, it turns into a deserted area. _________________ "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

Oh. Well there you go.
So either way, if you don't have real life friends playing Pokemon, you're up shit creek? Thats a bit lame. _________________

Its quite unfortunate.
The feature would have worked much better with the 3DS's StreetPass.

Just ordered White version. Dick Smith says delivery in 1-2 days, though I have a hard time believing that.

I'm picking it up after school on Thursday. [EDIT: Next Thursday]
I just hope there are still copies left. Gaming isn't the most popular thing in my area. _________________ "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

So I've decided I'm gonna pick up the new one, only problem is, which one? I like the look of the White Legendary. Is there a real "Superior" version or does it not matter too much? _________________

The differences are more significant than in previous Pokemon games, but still nothing game-breaking. There is a link here to the exclusive pokemon of each game (spoilers, obviously) and the gameplay differences can be found here (more spoilers). I usually like to get the less popular one, personally, since it might be marginally easier to collect the opposite versions exclusives that way. I went for White because Black seems more popular, and I like the look of the exclusive stuff (pokemon and gameplay) in White better anyway.

The WiFi event for the Liberty Ticket began on Friday. While we do not have the game yet, our event timing coincides with Europe, where Black and White was released on Friday.
This WiFi Event lets you download the Liberty Ticket, which allows you to travel to the Liberty Garden Tower, where Victini is Located.
This Event finishes on the 22nd of April.
Victini is a Psychic/Fire type.

The B/W cart has IR interaction! Apparently when you leave it in the DS it'll interact with people on the street too... _________________

Just got my Pokemon Black & White I've just tried Pokemon White, which is the US version, in my DSi and it works fine. So all of that crap about the games being region locked on the DSi was a load of bull people were spreading around. Now to figure out who my starter will be and SR for a bit to see if I can get a shiny one! _________________

Well, it wasn't so much a load of bull as not knowing, since other DSi games so far have been regionlocked - hell, even Japanese B/W were regionlocked. It's nice that these aren't locked (probably because they got released at pretty much the same time everywhere), but don't expect it for all other games in future. _________________

I've played a few hours of White now this is how my current team is looking:
Wotta - Level 15 Oshawott
Chilliape - Level 13 Pansear
Patty - Level 6 Patrat
Hooch (Pickup pokemon) - Level 8 Lillipup
Kitty - Level 8 Purrloin
Dreamee - Level 8 Munna
I'm having such a blast with this game so far. I'm at route 3 at the moment where I'll probably do a little bit of shiny hunting before I move out of this area. I was a bit disappointed about the Dream World not being active yet as I was looking forward to checking that out. With no Dream World, does this mean we can't grow berries anywhere or get berries? _________________
