Pokemon Discussion Thread

So I'm determined to finish my HeartGold Pokedex before Black comes out. I am sitting at 458 Pokemon caught! I'm even putting the final evolutions of every Pokemon in order in my boxes. Anyway I had a bunch of Hoenn Pokemon missing so I'm playing through Emerald. This is my team so far:

1. Combusken Lv31
2. Crobat Lv32
3. Aron Lv29
4. Grumpig Lv32
5. Carvanha Lv23
6. Seviper Lv30

I just caught Carvanha so I need to train it up a bit. My Golbat evolved into Crobat at Lv28 without any extra happiness activities (massages, vitamins etc.), which I thought was pretty cool. I think I'm going to replace Seviper when I see something better.

Anyway, yeah, I should be able to pretty much finish the Pokedex. The only Pokemon I wont be able to get are Celebi and Deoxys.

I wish I was as determined as you.. I was only missing a few final evolutions, Manaphy, Phione and Celebi (I think) the last time I checked. Although, I went through and tried to get one of every single evolution in the PC boxes in numerical order. It looks awesome when the box is filled, but it takes a bit longer.

is anyone else having trouble with the 2nd Dog event?

I leave the country in 1 hour and this is the only chance ill have to get the 2nd dog

In other news, I started playing HG again after about 4-5 months and found myself a shiny Golbat. If I evolve it, will it still retain its shiny-ness?

Loaded up my copies with Shiny Entei today as well. Lucky this post keeps reminding me, otherwise I'd probably forget.

On another note, does anyone have a legit Chikorita and Cyndaquil they could trade me? It seems I'm not only missing legendaries and final evolutions, but these two evolutionary lines as well.

Also: here's a look at the Pokemon Dream World mode which is a part of Black and White:

It allows you to catch Pokemon from previous generations, which sometimes come with abilities that they normally don't have. It's web based, and you need a wi-fi connection to use it.

The last shiny beast, Suicune should be up on wifi now so don't forget if you are collecting these. I'm hoping that Celebi is the next event that they put up as it's one pokemon I've been wanting a legit one of forever.

Are the legendary dogs trade-able from friends?
You might be lucky to get one from a friends wonder card.

Though I don't know how the whole thing works.
