My God that looks ridiculously good.
My only hope is that it's optimized a bit better than the first game, which really needs a fairly beefy machine to run well, even at lower settings.

The Witcher 2 will be the most important PC game of the year, looks leagues ahead of any other game. Makes the Sandy Bridge upgrade all worthwhile. _________________

The problem was the severely outdated Aurora engine which only ran on one core, the new engine they built from the ground up apparently demands a duo processor so quads should run even better. _________________

PALGN's image uploader resized them to 720p. To see them in their direct feed 1080p master race glory, go here. _________________

I keep forgetting that the first game started as a freaking NWN's mod, now it's arguably the greatest RPG ever made and the second looks to top it in every way.

Hot! Provided my computer can actually run it, I may have to pick this one up. Come for the graphics, stay for the gameplay. _________________

Oh my God at the texture work and AO. Oh my God.
I think I'm spending about 2 grand for a high end eyefinity setup now. Saving annual for this. _________________

I love how a crazy amount of attention has been applied to everything, and it doesn't look like most other games where only the main characters and objects look good while everything else, especially NPCs, look like turds.
Also, instant boner for Trish.

I've always had a boner for Miss Merigold. Such a mynx in the first game let alone the second.
Now she looks real enough to justify having tissues over.
Wait what.
EDIT: And yeah, the detail of this game is utterly ridiculous. Best RPG ever imminent imo. _________________

They built a new engine so hopefully a quad core and 460 will run at high settings. Even thoough the game looks masterful they are only a small, young studio who aren't overly interested in getting into console gaming so they would be hoping to keep the requirements down. The minimum requirements that were leaked out seem quite okay, although they say it would be low frames.
----- OS: Win XP / Vista / Win 7
----- Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or similar AMD
----- Memory: 1 GB for XP / 2 GB for Vista
----- Graphics: Nvidia GF 8800 512 VR or similar AMD
----- Hard Drive: 8GB for game and 8GB bonus content _________________

Actually, they're QUITE interested in it! Being a small developer, they know to make money they have to branch out to consoles at some point (unless they became an iconic PC dev, like Blizzard, which seems to be the road they're heading down), but if you recall, the first Witcher was actually being developed for Xbox 360 for quite some time until it was suddenly (and sadly) cancelled due to quality concerns.
With the 2nd, they've made the engine from the ground up multi-platform, so you could be almost certain in saying it will come to consoles sooner rather than later!
A recent quote from the senior producer:
"“It will be possible to do it on current gen consoles. It’s not a co-incidence because we have thought about it. It is a multi-platform engine.”

Witcher was one of the all time great PC games, and unfortunately, missed by many. I love that game without measure. This too will be something to treasure.

Low frames? Awww. My computer is a little better than the minimum requirements. Maybe I won't be able to play this. _________________

Very correct, I picked the wrong words. I meant they are more interested in focusing on one SKU at a time rather than work on 3 versions at once. Since the announcement of TW2 (and the cancellation of Rise of the White Wolf) they have talked about running the cutscences on a console but I would say the dealings with Widescreen Games has left them wanting to handle development themselves. I would expect them to release something Witcher related a year or so after TW2, the comments they have made about DA2 have been quite humourous.

The new engine may scale better than we are expecting. Until someone outside of the developers plays it we can only guess how well it will run. In any case this would be the perfect time to upgrade to an i5 2500k! _________________

I wish! Maybe I should start hoping for a console version. I guess we'll see how well it runs once the game is out. _________________

Well they tried outsourcing a port of the first game a few years back, but an internal dispute left it dead in the water. I don't think CD Projekt are a big enough dev house to develop multiplatform/port it themselves.
Probably going to upgrade my PC for this. _________________
