I'm still alive. Is this thead?
I reckon trying to kill the photos in the main palgn photos thread killed it :/ Damn overzealous new mods.

I don't wreckon.
I like having a thread dedicated to pictures and one for actual information.
It would be soooo unfun trying to find a post with camera information among all these high-bandwidth pictures. _________________

As an aside Theory's been a mod for longer than I have and I'm pretty sure I've been a mod for two years.

Walked down to the lake with the 7D and 100-400 today to brush up on my action shots ahead of next weekend's Airshow.
Not the most amazing and varied subjects, but I got some good practice in on my AF and tracking.
This one from the city the other day during the rain...

Couple from today, walking home I saw a great looking orb spider (2 of them in the same web I found out later as I analysed the shots) in its web, near the beach and as the sun was setting, light was pretty poor so had to ISO 1000 it, and even then of the 8 shots, only 3 turned out okay due to slow shutter speeds and impatience.
Wish I had my 100mm f/2.8 macro there :\
Once I had them on the big screen, they were all a bit soft and noisy, but having a play around in lightroom I manage to salvage something fun from them by going for a stylised look.

Thanks
Just did some reading, and the little spider in the second shot is actually the male. The variance in size is due to gender, and the males usually grow to 6mm, with females around 60mm. _________________

Frothing out on this thread, too many posts to like!
Handful from the last week. Quality on most are pretty dud as they're a copy and paste from places ive posted on around the net.
Warriewood blowhole + one from a wedding a month back, finally got around to processing.
A trip down south.
Used my mates housing on Thursday.
TGIF sunset.

Found this guy as I was closing up the house last night. Kept me up a while trying to get a decent pic of it.
I really need a macro flash/light =) _________________

A sample of my shots from the Melbourne Travels...
Oh and I got an EF 16-35mm f/2.8 II over there, used it for some of the shots in the gallery, and stitched a pano from it
