When I used Gamecard last year I got the email within 20min of my purchase at about 8:30pm.

This year I did it on a Wednesday evening at about 7:30pm and I took nearly 24hrs to get the email. I only got a chance to redeem the code tonight (been capped til today) and the ****ing code has already been redeemed. Not bloody impressed.

Could try Play-asia instead Xbox Live 12 Months for US$ 47.89 (~49.08 AUD) (non-affiliated)

Or the DiscountGamer. I would worry about the recent issues people are having with Gamercard.

These guys still haven't sorted out my issue. I contacted Xbox support and they confirmed that the code had been used. I forwarded that email to Gamecard. It's 12 days since I ordered this bloody code and I still haven't been given a working code. They keep telling me "no issue on our end" and that I should keep trying it.

What's just as frustrating is that they take a long time to respond to emails. It's usually a 36-48hr wait to hear a response, (and zero contact over weekends). What's also concerning is the time they respond. I've got one email from them at 4am and another at 3am. They're either running some shabby operation at stupid hours of the morning (ie not professional) or they're not operating in Australia, as they'd lead you to believe from the website and "about us" information.

If it's not sorted by Tuesday I'll be taking alternate action. It's one thing to send a used code, but another to then say it's my problem and I should find a way to fix it.

In short: avoid.

3 weeks and I've still not received a refund or new code from Gamecard. I ordered a code from DiscountGamer and 31 minutes later (on a Sunday) I had the code in my inbox. Night and day difference in service.

A plus for discountgamer is that they email you an actual scan of the card/code. That way you can check that you're typing in exactly the right thing. With Gamecard you're relying on them to copy out the code correctly into the email and as their site and emails say, mistakes do happen.

As you may have gathered by following this thread, Gamecard (gamecard.com.au) turned out to be a massive fail. They've shown their business to be a scam run by cheats. AVOID. Use discount gamer or one of the other alternatives.

Is there a way to instantly get a subscription online, but not from Live? Paypal maybe? I missed the 3 months for $15 from Xbox Live, but now I want to buy 12 months for $55 or so, but I'd rather get it now if at all possible.

DISCOUNT GAMER is also CRAP! Bought from them on Friday expecting them to give me the code for the 5 day holiday but now it's almost over and I still haven't received it.

GAMECARD is better, faster service!

The original post should be changed, it is misleading and only based on experience of one person.

Others have posted of similar bad experiences with them now in the other thread. Their Facebook page has more stories (although they go through and delete them from time to time).

People usually post about their experience if something bad happens...I'm sure the problem people have with it is just a small percentage

I think this thread is just unfair to tell people to avoid gamecard when I had a really good experience with it. What is worse is they recommend Discountgamer which I paid on a Friday with paypal and still yet to receive my code.

How did you pay for it? If it was bank deposit, wouldn't they wait until the money comes through? I paid with Paypal and got it in a couple of hours.
