Are you making sure to upgrade your weapons? What weapons are you using?

Yeah my weapons are upgraded, I think I spent most of them on my RIG and Stasis though which helps when those fast ones romp me.

I'm using the Plasma Cutter, Pulse Rifle, just bought Force Gun and the Javelin

^ I went with the line rack weapon myself. Its very effective and can do a lot of damage when upgraded. Plus because its a wide weapon, it cuts through enemies too.

Pulse Rifle - from game 1 - I thoguht just wasn't that good (except versus those blobby lumps and small things) so I didn't get it.

charge gun is great.

Dead space is about removing limbs so you need to focus on killing them that way. It makes the monsters easier to kill.

* NOTE: if you up capacity on your guns, it fills out your ammo - a holdover from deadspace. so I also tended to run the gun dry and then find a bench, upgrade capacity and get 8-10 free ammo. How fancy's that?

If your current combo is just not doing it for you, try the ripper? I found it extremely effective with crowd control, especially if you shoot a stasis shot out first. Then just run around sawing the limbs off.

Also shooting a stasis then immediately throwing ALT fire with the line gun (drops the energy ball that explodes after a few seconds) is very effective too against 2+ necromorphs.

I started playing the multiplayer last night, its not bad, had a few good laughs when playing as the necromorph...hide in a dark corner then chase after humans as they pass and ambush them lol.

Second the ripper too. Ripper plus stasis is good. icon_smile.gif

My 4 guns were: default, ripper, charge gun, line rack. Most of the game for me was played using the plasma cutter and the line rack

Thanks for the help guys. I've beaten ds1 so I know all about the dismemberment. I think my problem is that I just run out of ammo all the time along with health packs. Might have to start buying them from the store.

When out of ammo, use the capacity upgrade trick. That and you gotta learn to use Tk and body parts to conserve ammo and kill them.

Also... Shoot them with telekinesis body parts, then stasis them and punch them to death. Did that in survivalist mode so I'm sure its more than doable in normal mode

Good advice, probably gonna have to do that for awhile. I always underestimate the punch and stomp.

This game is fucking amazing. They actually improved on the first one, good on them I say, the first one was an awesome original game.

One criticism though. Isaac seems to move very quickly in this game compared to the first one. In DS1 the suit felt like it had real weight to it, really felt like a clunky engineering suit. But in this one everything seems to be much more fast-paced. Maybe its just that they got better at making the suits or something, either way I kinda miss the old feel.

Oh god no. I hated the old speeds. Its was a bit too slow and I think it is just right in DS2. Btw the weird motion for isacc and the wobbly cam, Deadspace1 also had the perchance for making me feel like throwing up.

Anyhow, I might play some multiplayer. What's the match up like? Can we get a PALGN DS2 4vs4?

By match up do you mean if the system evenly distributes the teams? I haven't really noticed during my brief MP playthru last night, will have a look tonight. I played 2 sessions of 2 rounds per session and won 2 lost 2, so I suppose it may be fairly even.

So I take it that the default weapon is worth upgrading? What about suits? Stick with the mining suit or wait for others?

The seeker rifle is brilliant when upgraded as well. On normal it will 1 hit kill a huge number of enemies, and I ripped through the end boss with it in literally about 15 - 20 seconds.

You just need to be able to...actually hit things, due to it being the slow, single shot style weapon.

The plasma cutter is really good. I used it through my entire playthrough. Its versatile. very.

The suits are also useful - mostly for the inventory increase and perk like bonuses. I skipped the 1st suit you could buy and bough the one after but I don't recommend that as there was a long wait between when I could get the new one (kept thinking.. when am I getting the new suit!?!?) and I ran out of inventory slots.

I never bothered with it as I thought it was a sniper type weapon and the creatures moved too fast. Might play with it on my 2nd play through.

I read your GAF review btw. You should have played it on survialist. It was just the right amount of OMFG I want to break my controller (especially during the closed room/elevator with monster assault sequences). Intense.

Cheers for the advice. I loved the plasma cutter in the first one so I think I'll stick with that.

It is basically the sniper rifle, which can be a problem if you're not an accurate shot, but if you are it delivers a crazy high amount of damage. The zoom in isn't very far, and is most just a damage bonus. For a lot of the game you'll one hit kill enemies even with just a body shot.

Yeah, I'm really kicking myself over that. I enjoyed the game tons, but normal was far, far too easy. Fully upgraded plasma cutter + seeker rifle worked a bit too well for its own good.

I'll be playing on a harder difficulty for my second run.

I'm up for some PS3 PALGN Dead Space Multiplayer! I'm already level 10, I love it.

Thanks for the advice too guys, up to Chapter 10 now and in my third suit.

Speaking of suits, can I just say why are they all so ugly? The vintage suit is ridiculous I mean I get the joke but urgh.

Nah, it was good. I like the different styles in the movie switching from 3D to anime.

I really enjoyed aftermath. Awesome prequel to DS2.

I been having problems with kills not registering in multiplayer. I swear there's been numberous times per round that I was the only one there that shot and killed another player, but I didn't get a +1 for kill count. What the hell is going on?

And also, killing a necromorph by dismembering doesn't give you a "+100 kill". Does it only add to your "dismem" count? Does that count give any score at all?

And whats the 4 bars next to each player's name in the lobby before you start the match? Is it the connection quality?
