Kingdom Hearts is great! The first one has annoying camera that's for sure after replaying it about a month ago, but the combat and camera are greatly improved in KH2. Just be wary there's tons of...well not spin offs....Side stories?
Chain of Memories for the GBA or you can import a PS2 version which takes place before two and is pretty necessary. (my sister went straight to KH2 and is all "WTF IS GOING ON")
358/2 Days for the DS which is one of my favourites and takes place at the same time as COM (Between 1 and 2)
Birth By Sleep for the PSP which is basically KH 0
and as Admeister said, Re:Coded for the DS which takes place after KH2
So it's a very large series on many consoles, but is definitely worth it! Sorry for that rant I just like the series and had a bit to say I guess.

Really good! I'm liking it much better than 358/2 Days so far (I'm up to the 5th world). The battle system is much better as it's based on the version from Birth By Sleep with the command slots and command synthesis. Levelling up and stat upgrades are handled in a similar way to 358/2, but it works much, much better. Also, you have full control over the camera, which is great.
Story wise, there's plenty of voiced PS2 style cutscenes as well as ones that are composed of only 2D art and speech bubbles. So far, the story has much less relevance to the general series plot than 358/2 did. Still, it remains the first game to be released which is set after the events of KH2.
Ever wanted to know what the KH series would be like if it were a side scrolling platformer? How about a third person shooter? Maybe a turn based RPG? Well, you'll see it all in Re:Coded! Seriously, check it out! It features the most varied gameplay in a KH game yet. _________________

To provide a counterpoint, KH takes a while to get going and the platforming is bad at some points. After a while it clicks though and it is quite a fun adventure. Really gets going after Traverse town.
My biggest problem originally was it looked and controlled like Zelda, so I played it like Zelda... but it really is it's own thing.
I haven't played it in many years, but I remember enjoying it, hope it goes well.

I've only played Kingdom Hearts 1 and two and 1 is easily my favourite.
I've finished KH1 at least 3 times I reckon.Once to 100% completion.
KH2 on the other hand I only finished once and not to 100% completion. _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

I agree with this. I recall that Destiny Islands was extremely boring, and even seemed to be a little too juvenile when you're forced to collect things in order to leave the island. But stick with it, because after that it comes into its own and it really is quite an interesting game.
It seems like so many people don't like KH2 as much as KH1, but I loved it more. I think it just made things more streamlined, as yes, the platforming in KH1 can get very tedious sometimes. I'm not saying it can't in KH2 or any of the other games, but the first title's platforming flaws stick with me even now. _________________

Things I love about KH
1. The set pieces
2. Interacting with my fav Disney characters
3. Seeing Final Fantasy and Disney characters mingle
4. Donald kicking butt
Things I dislke
1. The story: I'm sorry, but it is the biggest load of convoluted crap I have ever experienced
2. The battle sytsem: I don't see why people like it, it's just random button mashing, it gets boring fast.
3. That damn BEACH SCENE!!! I swear I am SICK and tired of seeing that scene played over and over and its alternate variations.
4. Rikku: I wish they'd stop making a big deal about him.
5. Overly melodramatic and unecessarily confusing, tries tooo hard to be mature.
Summary: I guess I don't like it _________________

Heh, I've never been a fan of Toriyama's style so I can't see that as petty at all. It gets pretty bland after a while anyway as there's not a lot of variation to his designs, at least the ones I'm familiar with in the DQ series. |
I don't care all that much for his designs myself. When I saw those DQVI character designs, I immediately recognised the same style from Chrono Trigger. If there's one thing in that game I didn't like, it's how the characters were drawn. Not like it matters, you see them as SNES sprites almost the entire game anyway.
And while on the subject; I've never been a fan of Amano's Final Fantasy character illustrations either. Which again doesn't matter, because the characters' appearance in the games is nothing like that style.
Hm, I seem to be out of RPG juice lately. There's nothing on my must-buy list in the near future as far as RPGs go (unless I get a PSP soon). I should take a look at my games one of these days and see if there's one I'd like to replay. (Vagrant Story!... maybe later, lol)

k you win Bioware, you win, I've left my game on with Sheperd gazing off to make a hard decision on which two characters to let live, trying to figure out which one I want to have with me in ME2... _________________

Oh, wow, good luck Oropher. Are you romancing one or anything? It was a really tough decision for me, but I'm sure other people will disagree with me. Tell us your thoughts.

EDIT: The [official] Tales forum has gone *$^## nuts over this possibility. Not only have they made nearly 3000 posts in the last week about this website, but the recent "reveal" of the font to the left of the image has generated TEN forum PAGES in like 5 MINUTES.
People want Tales? (mind you this is obviously a case of tales-tards adding plus 1's to their post count by only a few users) |

I've never talked to put either one of those two on my party. Skipping optionals and plowing through the story. So no I wasn't romancing one, I mean people will say that I skipped out on the sex scene but I think having one in a game is stupid blockbuster type marketing so it doesn't bother me. I just hope letting the other person live will make things more interesting in ME2. But yeah this character was with you right from the first minute of the game and on your actual team so I couldn't choose the one who came about 30mins in now can I?
Can you romance Tali? I want to know if there's a human face behind that helmet or bugs and insects. _________________

You can romance her, but you never see what's behind the helmet. _________________

Re:Coded better than 358? Man that's a big call I really liked 358, maybe because I'm secretly in love with the Organisation.
As for Destiny Islands.....I always kinda liked that place XD I'd sword fight for ages and it was just so relaxing.....Well at least I did as a kid.... _________________

Ok just finished Mass Effect 1.
I'm sad because it actually DOES have a better sci-fi story than Star Ocean The Last Hope <_< Or more, it was thought out better, much more expansive. But yeah in terms of people on your party I think I only like Wrek =/ That blue skin chick... who was on my team for the whole game so she can airlift crap for me... found her so annoying that I can't even remember her name from the top of my head right now.
Anyway looking forward to starting ME2 now, although already regretting the character I let live and die, mainly because I just remembered how annoying his voice is. But I'm sure Miss Aussie Accent will make me forget about her.
err actually is 'Bring Down the Sky' worth buying/playing? _________________

Bring Down The Sky is terrible and so is the other DLC. Save your money for the ME2 DLC, especially Shadow Broker.

I could actually deal with the fishing. Once you get the concept down its pretty easy.
Its all the others, which amount to little more than grinding for random drops. _________________

I really have to finish Nier, (up to haunted mansion). There are parts of that game that are truly amazing (boss fights) but also has parts that are kind of dull.
I hear I'm not up to the best part though.

I was wondering what you guys think about Limited Edition releases?
I'm contemplating whether or not to get Hyperdimension Neptunia LE which will be roughly $70 shipped (US Edition), or a regular one for $53 shipped (EU Version). I find that if I like a game a lot, I'd rather get the full artbook if they have it, rather than a small one that usually comes with these Limited editions.
Same thing with Ar Tonelico 3. I haven't really been into the series before but my PS3 needs some good RPGs going for it. I haven't bought any new PS3 games in ages, and love a good RPG to go with it. To get the normal (EU) version for $53, Premium for $70 or Premium plus calendar for almost $90....

Dammit Quin, came here to post the same thing.
You can dance now Luke.
And I'm amazed that the thread I read it in had 24 posts before someone started complaining that it wasn't Vesperia. There is hope for humanity yet.
Edit: haha, now people are complaining that it is probably the polished and extended PS3 version, not the buggy wii version. No hope for humanity.

It's a great way to start the day, though I'm not really surprised about the lack of Vesperia, would probably affect Graces f in terms of sales if it were to be released in the same fiscal year. I'm also not really surprised that people are complaining that the Graces game will be the PS3 version (heck some guy was raging because it wasn't going to be released on the Xbox360 *facepalm*)
Edit: Now we're waiting on a release date, looking forward to picking this game up when it gets released _________________
