I could have sworn this was already out.
In short, this is why I hate Nintendo Australia. _________________

Why does it take Nintendo so long to release everything, anyway? Very few other companies have issues releasing into the PAL market on time.

It's been out in the US for some time but not AU.
That said by the time this comes out here I'd already have finished it. :S
Kirby is too cute for his own good in this one.

@Benza - Couldn't agree more. But either way, I will get this game (even if I already own the US version, which I got for free surprisingly).

Well it's about time.
Someone needs to walk up to Nintedo of Australia and give em a big slap in the face with a wet fish. We like games just as much as the US, is it really that had to translate American to Australian? _________________ "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

Or we could just put up with the American language instead and get it even sooner??
That said all it seems to be it the spelling of a few words these days.

We'll be getting the PAL, multi-lingual version, so it is the other languages that would have been the hold up, Probably not just transtlation either, NOE probably picked up some bugs during the approval process. (There have been many instances of the ones in the US passing a game, but the ones in Europe picking up on something.)

This isn't released yet? I thought I came out in October. Nintendo really doesn't know how to operate on a global scale do they? If the American version is ready, and released then there is no need to hold up an Australian release. We don't speak German, Spanish, French, Italian, Welsh or any other language they like to add to the EU version, perhaps it's time Nintendo Australia just grew some balls and told their bosses that they're going to sell the American version here.

They have to get the European version because it needs to be converted into the PAL format.

So a pretty text and story light game like Kirby takes 4 months to get a European release but phoenix wright gets released the day after the US in pal regions?
Yeah I don't buy it. More likely Nintendo are just fucking incompetent when it comes to organizing a decent release schedule. _________________

There's also whether it started translation before or after release.
I don't see why the american version can't be converted to PAL by Nintendo of Australia. Do we have to wait for Europe to convert it? Do we not have the technology to convert NTSC to PAL?
It shouldn't be that hard, I think my video converter can even do it. _________________ "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

So, basically walk right up to their bosses and say, "Screw you, not following company policy anymore! We're doing whetever the hell we want!"
Yeah, that'll work...
Oh, and there's no point getting the shits with Nintendo Australia, they just do what they are told. Get shitty with Nintendo Japan.

They're the public face of Nintendo in my country and my country keeps getting shafted by Nintendo.

*shrugs*
If you want to waste your breath, go right ahead, but they are merely a branch office with I would say, oh, approximately less than zero influence in the decision making department.
It's like getting pissed that your local McDonald's has taken McHeartdisease burgers off the menu when all they do is sell what head office tells them to sell. McDonald's might be a bad example, being a franchise, but you get the idea.

Import. Cheaper games and hardware released within the proper timeframe. Nintendo Australia doesn't even exist in my mindset. _________________

I have had my USA copy day one, it actually feels like quite awhile a go I finished it, so much I could nearly play it again!
Seriously though Nintendo, regardless of branch offices, you need to stop screwing over PAL gamers. I for one wont be purchasing a PAL 3DS ever.

That would be a big mistake if there ever was one. US 3DS for me.

Not to defend Nintendo Australia too much, but they're really not that bad any more in terms of being timely with releases. Kirby is an anomaly - however it always is in PAL regions, Kirby takes forever to get here and has for a while.
Otherwise, I just went through the list of 2010 Nintendo-published games, and Nintendo Aus's only real slip ups this year were Sin and Punishment 2 (not released here) and Mario Galaxy 2 (took a little over a month to get from NA to here, but more notably about 3 weeks to get from Europe to here) in terms of Wii games, and Mario vs DK (took 3 months, missed xmas), WarioWare DIY (took a couple of months), Professor Layton and Pokemon Ranger (both took a month) in terms of DS games. For Wii games especially, thats really not much. At all. In fact, we actually got a surprisingly high number of titles before the US.
I'm all for hating on Nintendo Australia. For one, they overprice everything. But as far as release dates go, its really a non-issue these days. _________________
