just popped in the disc and it says to activate the online pass but the box is greyed out and I can't put it in. My copy from JB wasn't sealed and I'm wondering if they sold me a used copy as new. (?)
Let me know. Might have to go back and abuse someone. |
I had that same problem man.... Is it for PS3?
I ended up getting it to work by just redeeming it through the PS Store... worked fine after that... so give that a go. _________________ http://bencadphotography.com/

Actually I'm finding the graphics average. Not bad average, but just a bit washed out, like any indoor game. I found the original much better. Or, it was at the time.
Game still is fantastic. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Don't know what platform ure playing this on but while it's not omfg uncharted/gears2' it is a step up from dead space with better lighting effects and some wicked lighting tricks. There was an area im in where the ad lightwall and it doing some mad shining effect out onto the corridor. Issacs head helmet when he trashes around actally glows when the light incidence is at the angle to shine out at the camera. It also looks better when your in vacuum with water bubbles. I do think that the pc version will be. Definitive and I might get that later (as I did with ds1).
I think the sound mix ESP the voices could be better though, half the time I can't make out what they're saying. _________________

Just finished chapter 3 this morning, I am really enjoying so far but cant help but compare it to more of a FEAR/Bioshock game. It just doesnt feel the same as playing the first game.
I had my ps3 upscalling the res to 1080p and found it to be quite yuck. kicked it back to 1080i and the screen sharpened itself up. Have only come across 1 new enemy so far but I am digging the story alot and thats what got me into the series in the first place. Cant wait to get into it tonight with the lights off. _________________

I did get that feeling as well. It does have the same atmosphere as the original Bioshock. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Just finished it. Awesome game!
The graphics really impressed me and I didn't find any lulls in the tempo. Not a big fan of the outside space sections - mainly cause of those F*$&*$ enemies that shoot towards you while you are trying to solve a puzzle. My controller flew a few times during those sections!
The javelin gun is sweet with the electrifying alt-fire, and the line gun is so satisfying to use. Crrruunnchhh!
I won't attempt hard core mode, where you only get to save 3 times during the whole game. Kudos to anyone that gets through that.

It doesnt look like there are any real spoilers for DS2 the game, but some of the story in the movie is linked to it.

Oh, there are also animated boobs, so Dead Space Aftermath has that going for it. |

up to chapter 6 and having a lot of fun with this. Much better than Deadspace 1 and I thought the whole "locator" beam being able to find save/benches etc was really neat. Issac being less wobbly and running faster in this makes it more engaging/immediate to me. Some of the later combat setpieces were kind of nerve wracking.
close of chapter 5 spoiler
when she got gunned down by the spaceship I LOLed. That was amusingly awesome. _________________

I'm pretty sure GAME are offering $80 for it, but only if you bought it for them, until Feb 20.
This deal is listed on ecogamer.com under Saturday random roundup

Just watched Aftermath. I wish to hell I did before playing the game. No spoilers for Dead Space 2, just background. Ties the 2 games together beautifully. Seriously, watch it. _________________ Shin J Leon.

I am currently up to chapter 8 and am loving it. One thing I am finding about the game is that I can't play it in long sittings like I can with pretty much all other games.... and I already know that I won't bother with the multiplayer. _________________

Thinking of picking this up soon as I noticed Extraction is only included in the limited edition and I want them both.
I loved one, so I guess 2 is a must get? I also played the demo level of Extraction and I loved it, so I guess I definitely need the Limited Edition. _________________

I found the same thing with the first one. The game is just so intense I find I cannot only play it in 1-2 hour bursts. _________________ Shin J Leon.

This is a great game. Yes, its a must get. They added so much to the game that really expanded how it plays. Also, make sure you put subtitles on because without, a lot of the dialogue gets losts in the sound mix. Its uber fun.
* Note on gameplay. I'm such a scrimper. I played pretty much the whole game with the default weapon and the line gun. And focused on Issacs stastis skills. Its a bit of a pity that money+nodes are so rare because everytime I go to the store and see the other weapons on sale, I want to get them but can't! :'(
* add. Also extraction ... you can't play it without the bluray disc in the drive so no sneaky I'll rent and install this and then some." _________________

God dammit. My plan was to buy the Xbox 360 version (I very muchly prefer the controller, and I played the first on Xbox) and then borrow the PS3 version and commit said act. Apparently you can buy Extraction from PSN though, so that might be the way to go. _________________

If you have a Wii hire/borrow that. It's only a 3-5 hours game. It's pretty short. _________________ Shin J Leon.
