Thanks for the help Fetid and Karai, I now have a pair of decent headphones coming my way and my other headphones are just about to die too I'm pretty sure. I am now broke, but having money=not having music.
I'm confident I made the right choice

Does anyone know how to enroll properly at Uni? It only let me choose units up to 4 credits, so I chose all the ones necessary in Trimester 1. Is this correct I am so confused. _________________

What Uni are you in? I thought Australian unis did Semesters? Unless they count the Summer Semester as a 3rd trimester? _________________

I'm applying for Deakin at Burwood and there's Trimester 1, 2 and 3. Since it only lets me enroll in courses up to 4 credit points I assume I gotta enroll for like each Trimester as there's 4 subjects per Trimester.
Or maybe I mean Semester, but either way only 4 units per Tri/Semester. They didn't explain it well today _________________

That's weird. I know at Monash you enrol in 6 credit subjects. _________________

Well, when I was at Deakin it worked on Semesters, you had to do 4 credit units each semester. No idea what this trimester stuff is.

There's info about Trimesters at Deakin here
| Quote: | What are trimesters?
Trimesters refers to the organisation of three study periods during the teaching year (as opposed to having two study periods using a semester system). At Deakin there are three trimesters:
* Trimester 1 runs from March 9, 2010 to June 18, 2010 (teaching period ends June 4, 2010)
* Trimester 2 runs from July 12, 2010 to October 22, 2010 (teaching period ends October 8, 2010)
* Trimester 3 runs from November 15, 2010 to February 25, 2011 (teaching period ends February 11, 2011)
Each trimester runs for 12 weeks. Study in Trimester 3 is not compulsory – it just provides another option for study. A full-time student load will continue to be two trimesters of study.

If on Centrelink benefits, be careful about the Summer semester. I had to owe $1k+ for doing the Summer semester. _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"

Yeah I called three of my local ones. Two are open as per normal, the other won't open until 5pm (wah?). Guess its just a matter of checking. _________________

They should be.
It would be business suicide to be closed. Even my shopping centre is open. _________________

I was looking at Book Depository via a UK proxy and noticed that the prices are much cheaper, does anyone know if I can order through my regular account with no problems and get the British price or would I need a new account or is it just not possible to order through the proxy?
Edit: Didn't want to wait for an answer so just went and ordered, it all went trough as usual, hopefully it actually arrives. I saved $30 from the $70 I would of paid for those who are interested and /or use bookdepository.co.uk. _________________

Pretty sure you CAN order via the proxy. I would change your password before & afterwards though, just for security. _________________

^ Yep, there was a discussion about that on here a while back.
Ordering through proxy makes it like 30% cheaper and the items actually arrive! I've done it myself.
Only worry from PALGN peeps was security, i.e. giving out credit card details over a proxy. Should be fine though. _________________

My paypal account had a hack attempt on it after I used a proxy so be wary, change your passwords after you do it. _________________

I used a site called dave proxy, is that safe? It said in it's disclaimer thing that they don't monitor things like passwords and such but I guess if they did they obviously wouldn't tell you. _________________
