OK this game is starting to make me excited. Pheonix is a great inclusion and I was reading about the 'personal' chatter between characters.
That is:
| Quote: |
If the characters have some kind of story based relationship they will address them on a more personal level. For example, Wolverine will call his clone and surrogate daughter, X-23 by her real name, Laura. She in turn will call him Logan. Similarly at the start of a match your team leader’s face-off comments can be affected by the make up of your team or the first opponent. I urge you to build an Avengers team led by Captain America and check out Felicia’s comment on the state of Dormammu’s head. I’ll not spoil any more as there is real joy to be had finding them yourself. |
Now that is cool! _________________ Shin J Leon.

I love that stuff in fighting games.
One of the DBZ games has similar stuff like that.Though it sounds more advanced in MvC3. _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

Saw in JB Hifi today that a pre-order bonus for MvC3 is a comic book detailing the story. Haven't seen any similar deals anywhere else and JB usually have cheaper prices and they sometimes get the games earlier. I'll go with them! _________________

EB's got the same bonus. I'm waiting for the LE, provided there is going to be one... _________________

I'm pretty keen on this game, but I have no knowledge of comic books... Will I still appreciate this with only my limited Capcom understanding? _________________

Maybe it will improve your appreciation for comic books when you read it? _________________

I'm hoping for some kind of arcade stick bundle. I don't really care if they include a cheap stick, I'd just rather play with a stick. Otherwise, OzGameShop already have preorders open for $55.99.

Well there's going to be a lot of stuff that goes over your head, most of the alt colour schemes for the marvel charecter, who some of the marvel charecters are (Dorommamu, MODOK, X-23, Taskmater) but eh, it'll still be a fun game. _________________

Don't know if anyone's seen this yet, but here's an image explaining the controls.
It's looking really, really simplified atm. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing (although it might not make a difference for me, I'll still be fairly average, haha). _________________

Slightly different though: No LP,HP, LK, HK but just 3 buttons instead + air combo button which is pretty simplified as you'd only need to do a directional input + attack strength button rather than having variations depending on which button (P or K) you press. Or am I totally missing something here? _________________

I read about simplified controls for beginners so maybe this is it ? like in addition to the normal kinda controls. _________________

sorry complete mind fart, I meant blazblue (No fucking idea why I said MVC2) Light/Medium/Heavy/Special is what Arc have been using since Guilty Gear over a decade ago. Those fighting games deffintly arn't simplified though.

Great, It will be an easy transition from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom then. Which had a similar control set-up of L, M & H plus an assist button, instead they changed it to Aerial Combo button and separate assist buttons.
So does that mean launchers no longer has to be df + H? You just push the Aerial Combo button? _________________

Correct, inputting the E (Exchange) button will knock your opponent into the air for a juggle.

Hm. Presumably you'll still need to do quarter circles or whatever for Supers and Specials. Looks like something I can get into.

Yeah of course, it's a pretty standard fighting game set up.
It''s just gunna be 236/Light instead of 236/punch for a hadouken.
Infact it's gunna be less simple then 4 in a way cause they're completely dropping the shortcuts so no 33/punch for shoryukens. _________________

It's better to not have shortcuts in this or any game, they are totally retarded in SSFIV.
According to the leaked list, which has been 100% correct so far, the remaining 4 characters will be;
Marvel: Taskmaster, Sentinel
Capcom: Akuma, Hsien-Ko
The other fan favourites will definitely be DLC in the future. GIVE ME X! _________________

Seth Killian has confirmed there's not going to be any shortcuts. I find it takes me longer to do 33/punch and a whif it more then 623/punch anyway.

BOOOOOOOOO! CLASSIC!
Still I'm unbelievablely excited for Taskmaster. _________________

Benza, I wrote 'It's better to not have shortcuts'. Meaning I already know it doesn't have shortcuts. =P
Classic Megaman already had his fill, let X take over, who is infinitely cooler. _________________

Guys lets just compromise and have Battle Network Megaman.
(Although I'd rather have X).
