Man this game is so god damn buggy. I seriously dread entering areas with lots of debris out of fear of getting stuck between small cracks....Not to mention the constant crashing.
I am enjoying the game, but it is really impacting my engagement and immersion with it. _________________

Talking about bugs, I got hopelessly confused in a Legion camp today. I was attacking a bunch of them, then one fled through a wall. Then I realised the whole camp was covered in these floating wall pieces that weren't actually solid (no clipping). I was even getting shot from behind these damn things. _________________

| Bethesda Blog wrote: | New Vegas DLC: Details on Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road
Today we’re excited to shed light on New Vegas’ upcoming game add-ons: Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road.
As a bonus, we’ve got the first officially released screenshot for Honest Hearts. This DLC will be out on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC in two weeks (May 17th), and users should now be able to grab the proper game update to play the content.
Read the press release below and stay tuned for more information on all three add-ons.
BETHESDA SOFTWORKS REVEALS DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT PLANS FOR FALLOUT®: NEW VEGAS™
Three Additional Add-on Packs Releasing in Coming Months
for Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Windows PCs
May 3, 2011 (Rockville, MD) – Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media company, today announced three downloadable content packs will be released in the coming months for Fallout®: New Vegas™. The three packs will be released simultaneously for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and Windows-based PCs.
Honest Hearts™, Old World Blues™ and Lonesome Road™ will further expand upon Fallout: New Vegas. Fallout: New Vegas takes all the action, humor and post-apocalyptic grime and grit of this legendary series, and raises the stakes.
Available on May 17, Honest Hearts takes you on an expedition to the unspoiled wilderness of Utah’s Zion National Park. Things go horribly wrong when your caravan is ambushed by a tribal raiding band. As you try to find a way back to the Mojave, you become embroiled in a war between tribes and a conflict between a New Canaanite missionary and the mysterious Burned Man. The decisions you make will determine the fate of Zion.
In Old World Blues, releasing in June, you will discover how some of the Mojave’s mutated monsters came to be when you unwittingly become a lab rat in a science experiment gone awry. You’ll need to scour the Pre-War research centers of the Big Empty in search of technology to turn the tables on your kidnappers or join forces with them against an even greater threat.
Lonesome Road, available in July, brings the courier’s story full circle when you are contacted by the original Courier Six, a man by the name of Ulysses who refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the start of New Vegas. In his transmission, Ulysses promises the answer as to why, but only if you take one last job –a job that leads you into the depths of the hurricane-swept canyons of the Divide, a landscape torn apart by earthquakes and violent storms. The road to the Divide is a long and treacherous one, and of the few to ever walk the road, none have ever returned.
Reviews of Fallout: New Vegas have called the game as “an utterly essential purchase” (MSN UK) and as “addictively, rambunctiously fun” (Entertainment Weekly). The Associated Press awarded it a 4 out of 4 stars and said “Bottom Line: It’s a Blast”, while GameSpy gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars and called Fallout: New Vegas “one of the best games of the year.”
All downloadable content for Fallout: New Vegas will be available for download on Xbox LIVE® for 800 Microsoft Points, the PlayStation®Network for $9.99, and both Steam and Direct2Drive for $9.99.
Published by Bethesda Softworks and developed at Obsidian Entertainment, Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road, and Fallout: New Vegas have been rated M for Mature by the ESRB. There was a patch the other day making a heap of weapon balance tweaks.
I finally went back to this game a week or 2 ago, its very addictive (like the previous game). Still playing through it nearing the end.
I thought the Dead Money DLC was pretty average. I didn't really enjoy the setting, the whole villa area was too samey and got boring. Raised level cap made it worth it for me though. _________________ XBL/PSN/Steam: BenC82

I haven't found the time to get into NV yet. Im still stuck on the DLC portion of F3 and have basically put it down for about three months straight now.
Probably something I should do. _________________

I wish I could get back into New Vegas. The overall story, the organisations, the characters, the setting was all better established and more interesting than Fallout 3. It's just so buggy in comparison in some parts that it puts me off regularly. The DLC looks focused, but it's too late for me. _________________

I did. It only really makes it more difficult at the start. Once you build up a decent stockpile and a decent set of skills it's no hardship. Just have to lug around a bunch of water and doctor's kits
It was cool though. Living moment to moment. Scavenging everywhere you can for clean water, since RADs are so much more deadly. _________________

I just beat Dead Money today. I liked how it changed up the gameplay and the addition of the collar was pretty clever but overall it feels like I've just been playing a different game and now I'm back to playing FO:NV again. I don't know if that makes any sense. Basically, the add-on didn't have much of an impact (as opposed to something like Shivering Isle's for Oblivion) and it also didn't add anything to the main game bar a couple of weapons I'll never use. I don't regret buying it (it was worth it for the level cap raise) but I also wouldn't recommend it to people who have already beaten the main game already (I haven't), there's really not enough included to warrant coming back to the game.
One thing that's annoying me right now is that Rex went back to the Kings school. This sucks because the Kings shoot me on sight and I'm pretty sure I have to ask King to get Rex to go with me, so I can't just go in there and kill everyone. It wouldn't be a problem (rex is actually a fairly crap companion) except Rex is holding a bunch of my crap on him and I want it back. Another thing that makes it worse is that the NCR have set up shop in the school as well so when I went in there the Kings started shooting at me, I shot back and then NCR started shooting too! I don't know if I accidentally shot a NCR trooper or if they're just reacting to me shooting the Kings. Why couldn't my companions just go to the Lucky 38???
Edit: With the help of a stealth boy I snuck into the school of impersonation and talked to Rex and got him to follow me Good thing he did because he had a crap load of my things with him. _________________

I really dislike how Dead Money stripped you of all your hard earned items for the entire portion of the DLC. My own personal philosophy with DLCs is that they should be add-ons to the original game, rather than almost completely separate game using the same graphics engine.

Whenever i started a DLC in fallout 3, i would remove all my weapons and only use basic armour and attempt to play with what the scenario provided

Yeah, I downloaded it. It's OK but very short.
A couple of new enemies and weapons but nothing exciting there. The landscape is nice and bright but is lacking in detail. It rains too which is cool.
There are a couple of glitches being reported but I have yet to find them. One glitch actually has you completing the DLC within 20 minutes and not having to do any quests at all.
Overall I thought it was OK but it could've been a lot better. Fingers crossed that the last DLC is the biggest when it comes out and these are only a teaser of what's to come. _________________

I hate to say it, but my interest in New Vegas has been revitalised. They really have made an effort in fixing some of the errors and gameplay blocks from earlier versions (the glitches with Raul's questline, the lower rate of freezing, etc).
Might end up getting Honest Hearts. _________________

We’ve received plenty of inquiries asking when we’ll be releasing Fallout: New Vegas’s third DLC, Old World Blues. Today I can confirm the content will release on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on Tuesday, July 19th.
Prior to release, we will release a new title update for New Vegas. Along with adding support for Old World Blues, the update will bring improvements to performance and stability in major areas.
We’ll also be releasing a new trailer for Old World Blues in the coming weeks. I’ve already seen an early version, and it’s crazy awesome. Until then, today we’re releasing new screenshots on our Facebook or Flickr pages. |
