I'm going to America next week, and was thinking of picking up Black Ops on Xbox and was wondering if it was region free.

I checked on Play Asia and this
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-dh-49-en-70-3ts0.html says it is.

But since Play asia is located in asia, should this be the same through out the States aswell? and will I be able to use it on my PAL xbox?

yeah a mate got a copy from amazon, US version, works on his PAL console and plays it everyday with me.
