Hey, at least it's got more merit then the Wii.

I still wonder who the hell is buying it @ $200 a pop. It's not me.

I don't know a single person in real life who bought one and judging by the forums here, it's not so popular with hardcore gamers either.

Amazing that the casuals are so interesting in games now.

Well I got one for $200 and I rekon it was worth every cent. The games may not be hardcore gamer games, but they're fucking fun.

We had about 60 of the standalone units in stock on release day at work. Every single unit was gone by the next morning...

Nah man it's really pretty fun. I had my doubts at first and really only bought one for the hacking scene (When those guys get the mo-cap shit working propperly it will be brilliant) but was suprised by just how much fun it is to play. Sure we have re-arange our lounge room but luckily for us that's pretty easy.

People buying this for $200 makes me think that I'm not as stupid at spending money as I thought.I will throw my money at a lot stuff but no way would I buy a motion control device for that much.

Hell the only reason I have Move for PS3 already is becuase I needed a new PS3 and thought that I would end up getting Move one day and there was a PS3/Move starter kit bundle.

I have seen Kinect being used and it does look like fun but not $200 worth of fun.

Isn't move just as expensive after you get all the bits? And if you want to get 2 players, you're really in the hole.

I'm not sure as the starter bundle only comes with the wand. The starter bundle with the wand and demo disc is $100.But I don't care about having the navigator because you can just use the wand.Sure it would be easier to use the navigation control but why bother spending more money on the thing when what I already have can do the trick.

Plus my Move will probably never be used for any more than single player so I don't need a second wand.

But that's the thing. With move you can spend the minimum depending on your wants or needs (oh god this is sounding like those fanboy wars over which console is better icon_lol.gif ).Sure I could probably spend something like $300 on Move, but I don't need nor want to spend that much.

Anyway stupid really only applies to me.I myself think that it would be stupid to pay $200 for Kinect. But stupid is up to the individual. My sister reckons spending $100+ on a game is stupid.I can see where she's coming from but I personally don't find it stupid.

See I renationalized it by thinking, well it comes with one game so I'm really spending $100 on the kinect and $100 for the game that comes with it.

I can definitely understand not wanting to pay the price for it, if you have no interest in motion games then it's a complete waste of cash.
But if you liked stuff like Wii-sport and have the room and other people to play with I rekon it's deffintly worth the money.

Ah well that's different. But I still don't like motion controls enough to spend $200 soley for motion gaming.

Though do Kinect games even cost $100? I don't think I've seen a Move game sell for any more that $70 and remember that $70 for me means that most people could probably get a $70 game for $50.

See I like motion control gaming, just not hugely.I'm always "I don't want to flail my arms around like a moron" then when I finally get around to playing motion controled games, I find that it is actually fun.But even then I don't play motion controled games very much.

I really wanted one and was trying to rationalize it so it didn't seem so bad to me, you can't take facts into account in that situation otherwise you don't buy what you want icon_razz.gif

I'm pretty much the same, I liked playing Wii sports, but never really went out of my way to play it. Like I said I mainly bought it for the hacking scene, but yeah I've ended up playing the Kinect Adventure heaps more then I thought I would.

Just import from the US. RRP is $150 there (with the dollar more or less at parity) and the power transformer should work in Australia (I'll confirm this in a month when I visit).

Kinect is awesome, and I'm glad it's so successful. I want more tech like this.

I'd like tech that actually does what it claims to do on the box. Lack of voice control is sad.
