I wonder if this extended sale till the 30th means they'll still hold the xmas summer sale like last year :S _________________

This weekend the deals are changing daily, the deals you see today were not the deals I saw 24 hours ago and if you look at Steam you will see a countdown with only 18ish (at time of writing) to go.
So far I have picked up 2 indie game packs. There is rumoured to be a beat one this weekend that will include Bit.Trip.Beat & Audiosurf sometime. Today's indie game pack includes awesome games like World of Goo and VVVVVV
EDIT: Correction: the full "Pulse pack" includes: Audiosurf, Beat Hazard, Bit.Trip Beat, The Polynomial, Rhythm Zone. Audiosurf and Bit.Trip alone would make it worth your $5 _________________

I couldn't resist today's indie pack. VVVVVV is worth the $5 alone. _________________

Purchased Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box
Have a love/hate relationship with the game on the 360, i presume it will continue with the pc version (which i installed and had a quick run through before).
Had been keen on it when i saw how "cheap" it was during an EB sale a few months back, never pounced as my old computer at that time would not have run it very well.

I nearly bought quite a few things.. but I just have way too many games to play through yet.. I resisted the temptation but only barely.. was a good weekend for Steam.
Did anyone here win the Wishlist thing? _________________

3/5 Indy game packs thus far... playing VVVVVV at home and Eufloria at work. The former is a pixely love blend of Metroid's large world exploration and Super Meat Boy's 'jump to your death into obstacles forever' punishing brand of platforming. While the latter is almost like Flower and Pixeljunk Eden without direct control, turned into an almost RTS like affair. I think. Seems to ease you in slowly and I've only managed to get 4 levels in so far.
Very happy with this so far, each pack has had at least 2 games that I wanted to get anyway, and the rest of the titles look (for the most part) well worth playing.
<3 Steam Sales, </3 Steam. Go fig. _________________

One game that had my interest was Machinarium.. it really has a very interesting art style to it.. reminded me a lot of a game back in the 1990's called "Dark Seed", which feature artwork by HR Giger. I don't think that Machinarium is anything like that game in terms of darkness, weirdness or gameplay.. but the art-style had me remembering that game.
In terms of gameplay, it seemed a little oddball, which is why I didn't buy it on the weekend. It's an adventure/puzzle game and I would love to see it reviewed by PALGN if at all possible. _________________

It reviewed very well all over the place - If you're interested in point and clickers at all I'd say buy it while it's cheap. I paid ~$19 for the collectors ed a while back, haven't installed it yet though. _________________

I'm pretty sure I picked up Machinarium for like $5 direct from their website one day when they were doing some kinda piracy amnesty sale.
Not that I actually pirated it, I just cant say no to low prices
Geourgous graphics, lovely music and quirky story. Very much worth the money. _________________

Anybody who does not own The Orange Box, and wont buy five phenominal games for the low low price of US$7.50, is getting the ban hammer for eternity. _________________

I'm safe then . I've wanted TF2 for a while now, and couldn't say no to $7.50 with three Half Life games, looking forward to playing through them again, haven't played them since the Orange Box launch on the 360.

Doh.. missed out.. by the time I got home, that one was on special anymore. As much as it looks fun.. I can't justify $20USD for a flash game without reading more indepth reviews but I didn't bother reading them more than the short reviews and decided to buy it at the discounted price..
Also just found the PALGN review of it.. can't understand why I missed it the first time around:
http://palgn.com.au/pc-gaming/17162/machinarium-review/
EDIT: Haha.. so cute.. I wish I'd found the demo on the weekend, and that review as well.. Guess I will be buying it for $20 now.. it is just too cute Wherer did you get the collector's edition from? _________________

Thanks! I ordered a copy.. I have no qualms about buying it for $24.95 (incl. shipping) with a hard copy of game and extra stuff.. just not digital copy for $20USD.
OzGameShop did have the same but of course they are out of stock. _________________

Looking at the Steam store today, they have these gift packs advertised, but it doesn't seem to say what games are in each pack. Like it has a Trine 8-pack, but what exactly do you get? _________________

8 copies of Trine... I thought that was fairly self-explanatory. _________________

Yeah, those packs are all about "Buy this and give it to everyone you know for cheaper than what one copy of the game itself usually costs"

Ah, I see, they're multiple copies that you're supposed to give to other people. Fair enough, thanks for that. _________________

I don't have enough friends on Steam to make use of those pack I was inclined to send everyone a Christmas present of "Trine" but most of my friends already have it.. and only one had it on their wishlist.. lol.. _________________

Just curious.. Does the EB Online store email you when they have despatched the item? Or only when the order is confirmed? I've yet to receive an email about it being despatched and I ordered it in the morning yesterday.. most places will ship the same day if you order it before 12. _________________
