oh man I wanted to be done with Brotherhood but fuck Matrix I'm going home and playing some more tonight.
One thing I noticed is
When you're playing as Desmond, important objects are highlighted in a gold sheen similar to uncharted. Which is the same colour that important targets get highlighted in through eagle vision. I'm not sure if that means anything but I thought it was an interesting touch.
Storyline spoilers maybe
Also desmonds bleeding effects seemed to be much more animusy then in AC2 were from memory it only really happened once and they we're all green and weird, were as in this one they're the white highlights from the animus. I'm thinking that if we see AC 3 with desmond as the protagonist the animus effects might continue to bleed in until he can use the animus effects like targeting and shit in the real world. (Obviously dying would still count as death and not de synchronization) Also when you first go to the sanctuary Desmond see's a ghost of Ezio and comments on how old he looks. Was thinking this would tie into were the apple was hidden, which it didn't. So maybe Ezio's story isn't done? _________________

That was stunning, along with the final act. But I'd put Brothehood above it because of the multiplayer.

Definitely not over-rated, but RDR online did nothing for me. I wanted to see episodic DLC like GTA, but Rockstar really screwed it up. _________________

I just unlocked The Truth, and after I experienced it (and it IS a doozy), Desmond's character model completely spazzed out vibrating stuck in the animus chair during a scene, and after it. All I could do was re-enter the animus, thus missing the one-time-only dialog options with characters about The Truth. Great!
Apparently this glitch happens to almost everyone. Patch this Ubi, though it's too late for me ;( _________________

You cant talk to anyone because you cant get out of the chair. And if you re-enter the animus which is all you can do, and exit, Lucy is gone again and everyone only has their brush off comments.
I'm not 100% certain they have anything to say coz everyone seems to get the glitch, but it seems likely
By the by, did anyone else notice Caterina Sforza's hair colour is different? She even looks like 20 years younger.

Finally, one more glitch that bugs me: when you enter a Romulus lair there is a chance your ability to use parachutes will go poof, and your double hidden blade will become a single one again. The blade rectifies next time your game loads, but the parachutes have to be rebought wasting a few thousand bucks. Lol wut? _________________

I'm sorry, I haven't read any of your posts because they're so spoileriffic now, but how satisfying is it to call down an assassin?! I love it. I just did the first mission after I gained the new recruits, and it makes you feel so powerful!
Haha, I just had what I assume was a Guard Captain come out of nowhere and smush me into the ground with his horse, which then made all the guards in the vicinity go after ME! I didn't actually see where the horse came from, it just rammed into me out of nowhere ... and looked as if it meant it, too! Pretty funny stuff.
Oh, now I'm curious about something: I am going about recruiting people, and there is this group of guards holding a man above a cliff. I've just attacked them, but the guy basically fell down to his death immediately ... What am I meant to do? And if one of your recruits dies, do you get a never ending supply to replace them? Or can you eventually run out of recruits?
Actually, it's a man holding a guard over a cliff, I just had a look. _________________

Okay, thank you.
I just managed to save him that time ... well, sort of.
I decided to be creative and let the last guard get poisoned for something different. So, we're standing around watching him, and then the guard eventually decides to lash out randomly and hits the citizen on the last swing ... well, he's dead again, flat as a pancake. _________________

Wat? Caterina Sforza in AC2 is only recognizably human by the barest of margins. Just about every character in the game got a visual upgrade between 2 and Brotherhood, and Caterina absolutely needed it. Lucy also looks much less like a terrifying Fish-Woman.
This isn't an inFamous 2-type of "Drake hair and tribal tattoos poll better with our target demographic" debacle, it's a "We need players to want to save this woman from a castle, maybe we should make her look less like a Wicked Witch's corpse" type of deal. _________________

The MP in this game has made me temporarily lose all interest in the single player so far... I cant wait to level up a bit more and properly learn how to use some of the weapons against my pursuers and marks.. _________________

Same here Benza. It took so long for me to get a game and when it finally did my missus told me it was time to help with the dishes.
What resulted was me getting yelled at for ignoring the call and playing the game through to the end anyway. Damn you brotherhood. _________________

Just beat the game. For all those people speculating on the ending here are my thoughts (TRUTH AND END GAME SPOILERS):
| Spoilers wrote: | During the message Subject 16 gives you at the end of The Truth he tells you that it's already too late to save anything because its all over, but maybe you (Desmond's) son stands a chance.
I believe the idea is, AC1, 2 and Brotherhood are actually an Animus within an Animus - that Desmond is from the past, that AC's present is actually further than 2012, and that his son is using the Animus to relive him reliving other people.
It stands to reason that as an adult his son might have the same voice, and if he was sufficiently disturbed by Desmond killing Lucy, he would freak out as they have often mentioned Desmond doing at intense moments in Ezios/Altairs life. So those two men could be the ones running the Animus the son is using.
At the end of the day, I think Lucy's death, the "sixth sense hidden from humanity" in addition to the doomsday 2012 AND templars ruling the world plot twists all add up to Ubi jumping the shark with this series. I love AC, I was dubious of the ending of 2 adding a whole new storyline like that, but now this one's made it even more silly - we now have three main plots...

As a whole the game the visuals have improved, and don't see how someone would complain about this. _________________ Solid Snake is the shit

Im not complaining that the visual style has improved I'm complaining that she looks like a different person, and someone young enough to be the AC2 version's daughter. There's a difference between updating visuals and just changing everything for the heck of it >_> _________________

YES! The idea is brilliant but the execution isn't quite perfect, you spend so much time looking at loading screens or waiting for other players to join/make selections. It wouldn't be so bad if there was a proper lobby so you could select your character while you waited or at least check out the people who you are up against. Hopefully they stick with the concept though and the experience can be improved for AC3. _________________

man I spent so long last night looking for glyphs for the truth. main one that's throwing me at hte moment is there's a little ruined village thing on a hill in the south west corner of the map, there's suposed to be a glyph somewere there but I've got no fucking clue were.
[edit]
I just looked up the location and realized I've totally already done that one.
Um... i had no idea how I forgot that. Might want to just ignore this post and read the one below it. _________________

"Hey whassa matta you, Altair?"
Finished the game yesterday, brief thought on the ending.
| Quote: | Maybe it's just me but I would have preferred it if Desmond just stabbed Lucy, rather than the player having to move the left stick several times to make it happen. I understand they want to try and make the player feel guilty but it didn't work for me. In MGS3 when you pull the trigger (I won't elaborate), that did it for me.
I also liked the fight against Cesare. Thank god it was just a good old fashioned duel, while occasionally butchering his soldiers every now and then. I would have screamed if he somehow got hold of the apple again and we had to fight a superpowered boss just like in AC1 and 2.
|
I'm impressed with the game overall, I wasn't expecting much from a game released one year after AC2 but it does manage to deliver a solid SP experience.
As for the MP, I've only played two rounds of Wanted which I enjoyed more than I thought I would overall. I don't think I'll be playing a lot of it to be honest, but it's quite a satisfying feeling to assassinate others the 'proper' way. It's quite funny to have a target running around and as he runs by, you just knife him casually and continue strolling down the street as if nothing happened.

Was playing Multiplayer earlier, and i have no idea how you use the 'stun' ability. Does it only work when the game has recognized that the your 'pursuer' has broken character and actively going after you? cause there's been a few time's i think someones Sus, and before they attack, i'm tried hitting the circle button. Does nothing. Once or twice i've seen them get the circle icon above there head, but by that time, it's normally too late. _________________

Just finished the game myself. Like AC2, i have to play through the ending again to try to fully understand it. However here is my take on the ending (as well as bits incorporated from the truth ending and Project Legacy)
| Quote: | Before i start going into detail first off - the two voices that you hear at the end saying to put him back into the animus i think are William H. and Eurditio (Eurditio being the expert because of his experience hacking the DDS and his experience with Abstergo).
It certainly was a twist seeing the "gods" control Desmond through the apple to attempt to kill Lucy - i think she is going to come back in AC3. The possibilities that came through my head when they said he is a mix of the old and new (i assume she was referring to an interbreed between the gods and humans). This can be interpreted in different ways - Is Desmond from the past, is the animus a separate world from the real world and Desmond crossed over to it with the animus machine that abstergo made acting as a gatekeeper, or is it simply that Desmond's descendants came from that interbreed offspring and Desmond is the latest in that line. Interesting questions to be answered.
My interpretation of what might happen in AC3 - Subject 16 and the "gods" have said that it is too late - everything that you know and hold dear is gone. I would take it that they believe that the 2012 event is inevitable and Desmond can not stop it, no matter what he does. In my opinion the gods are setting this up as a new take - you can't save the world but by using the temples you can save a little bit of it and start a new. From what the god and 16 have said - find the other - Eve's DNA will unlock it - meaning that Desmond has to find the Eve of the modern day (History is repeating like in the AC2 truth - Adam (Desmond) and Eve on the roof with the apple). I have a feeling that Lucy might be Eve in this story with gods mistakenly killing her - might be wrong on that though and AC3 revolves around the story line of finding her, as well as the temples, which will unlock Desmond's sixth sense of knowledge. Using this knowledge he can find eve and then find Eden - based off what 16 is saying Eden seems to be the place where things will be won/lost.
I don't know how 16's interpretation of Desmond's son (yes he said YOUR son - not sun) comes into this - it seems to imply that either the event is going to happen after 2012, Desmond and Eve survive 2012 or Desmond is going to have an instant baby with eve before the 2012 event
There are too many ways this could go and i really want to see if AC3 can deliver and wrap this up in any kind of order in one game. Seriously - i can't see AC3 being anything other then a full on Desmond game.
Also about Ezio's story - Seriously did anyone not notice the massive jump from sequence 8 to sequence 9 - there is gap of 4 years there. Surely it did not take Ezio 4 years to track Cesare down. I think instead of Ubi saying ok sequence 11 and 12 are corrupted, they simply decided to not say anything and just put in how Ezio went from Rome to ? (Forgot the name already) in the final sequence - seemed a bit too disjointed at the end.
Anyway i think we might play as Ezio for one or two memories in future AC games explaining what he did with the apple, how he discovered the vault underneath the Colosseum and how he in the first place knew the password to the vault.

As Cesare was the nemesis in Brotherhood, Ubi probably wanted Ezio to kill him, but they couldn't do so until the time he actually died, which was several years after the Borgia madness in Rome at the battle of Viana.
That said, the way Ezio leaves Leonardo is so vague, and the question of what we did for so many years left unanswered, DLC seems highly likely. Porbably he spent the time trying to get leads on Cesare's whereabouts... The game does provide a database entry at the start of sequence 9, narrated by Shaun "So I guess you'd like to know how you ended up here" but it provides no info beyond what I've just said. :\
