Second the bagging of the Mafia 2 DLC so far. Absolutely hated Jimmy's Vendetta. Left a sour taste after enjoying Mafia 2 itself.

I'm the same. I create my own stealth in the game because you can, like you said, just run in and counter/streak kill everyone. Having said that, it appears that they'll get harder the more you do. The last Captain I killed, for example, fled the first time I alerted him so I had to wait until he returned.

I'm playing this game at the moment and it's a bit of a struggle to maintain enthusiasm. The sudden difficulty jumps are currently making it a big grindfest for me at the moment, but I'd probably do better if I kept my main character to more offensive-based jobs. I am enjoying exploring the jobs though.
But it's the little things that let this game down like the completely random nature of seeking out random battles. I know, random is random, but I feel like I'm just wasting time drudging around the map trying to find a battle.

Currently playing Fable 3. Found it difficult to really get into at first, mainly due to the insane amount of bugs, but once I did I have been hooked. It's a remarkable game really that you can overcome so many bugs/bad design decisions and still really enjoy it.
I also downloaded the new Rage game from ID software on my ipad last night. far out is it impressive in the graphics department. The gameplay reminds me a lot of the Club the bizarre creations came out with a few years ago. And thats not a bad thing

I've been into side-scrolling beat em ups lately and that has lead me to wanting to play Tekken 6 again as there's no new (PS3) side-scrolling beat em ups (things like FinalFight on PSN don't count.
I'm mostly playing Scenario Campaign as I love customising my characters so I'm playing it to get money for items.I'm currently playing it as Asuka.
If I'm not playing SC them I'm playing Team Battle as that's what makes me play a fighting game for ages and makes a fighting game be automatically better than fighting games without the mode.
Want me to keep me playing a fighting game for an extended amount of time? Put in a TB mode and you have a winner. _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

Half finished Sonic Colors I borrowed from a friend(wii version, I hear the DS is great too). Saw the credits but still have to go back and get all the red rings (amazing reward for doing so).
What can I say, it's not the definitive Sonic game but it is the best overall IMO. There are one or two annoying levels but for the most part this IS Sonic's version of NSMBWii.
Don't want to jinx anything but Sega have been amazing recently, my developer of the year... didn't think I'd ever say that again.
The writing in the game is absolutely terrible though, here is an example (not exact but close).
Sonic: I've destroyed two of Eggman's reactors.
Tails: There are five reactors. If my math is correct there are three reactors left.
Sonic: You didn't say there was going to be math.
I died a little inside when that one came out.

So I bought Hot Pursuit today.
I played it for about 3 hours, and IT'S FUCKING AWESOME. Holy shit, fast. Handling is great, there's not a lot of traffic, but there often seems to be a car in the wrong place at the wrong time. Smashing racers to bits as a cop is awesome fun as ever, and running from the law is a lot of fun, too. I haven't done any of the online stuff yet, but that looks like it will be interesting, too. This is how gaming should be, it's just fun. None of the over-complicated crap in some games, just simple fun. Of course, if you want to try and shave tenths of seconds off your time, you can do that, too. Criterion really came through with this one.

I'm not doing a real playthrough of anything atm, since I've already fully finished my latest new game. So now I've gone back to playing FFXIII (a game many people apparently love to hate, but I personally like it). I'm trying to make what I call an Ă¼ber-save (i.e. savefiles with an overpowered team at specific points in the game, for future replay purposes).
What I'm trying to do right now is fully max my team out before reaching Chapter 12. Not sure if this can be considered a spoiler, but just in case;
| --SPOILER-- wrote: | I've beaten the last boss of Chapter 11 and now I intend on maxing out everyone's Crystarium grid at this point (easy, I did that on my 1st playthrough too) and get the ultimate weapons for every character as well (didn't do that before). This way I will have a team of kickass l'Cie at the start of Chapter 12.
I've found a very effective way of farming from those oversized Adamantortoises. Using a strategy that most people probably know already (saw it somewhere on YouTube), Sazh basically OWNS those Adamanties. "You should see your daddy now!" |
So yeah... when I've got nothing better to do, I spend time on these kind of tedious and completely unnecessary objectives.
(Crazy~? Who, me? But of course! ^^)

I have enjoyed FFXIII quite a bit. The story is interesting, the visuals are great, the soundtrack is good and the battle-system is a blast. The only bummer is the very strict corridors in the game-maps. _________________

True, most areas were very linear. At some times it did feel like I was just walking through nicely designed corridors. The large areas in Chapter 11 were a welcome change, I love that place.
But I wasn't too bothered by that, there's only one major gripe I have with this game; getting Gil in FFXIII is really tedious (the Treasure Hunter trophy really tests your patience in that regard). Ironically, what I'm doing now requires lots of Gil. Lots and lots of Gil. But I'm not in a hurry to get this done, so I'm taking it slowly this time.
(Not really a spoiler, but wow, I just got two Trapezohedrons in a row... that's never happened to me before)

^If you're looking for Gil rather than Traphezodrons and Platinum Ingots, you're probably wasting your time farming the Adamantortoise in Chapter 11. Unless of course you're getting consistent drops vs time spent battling and reloading your save.
Try the group of Sacrifice Ci'eth in Chapter 13, they consistently drop Perfumes and Scarletites, and no need to reload your save. You just run to the side paths and they respawn when you're a certain distance away. If you finish the game then go back though, the respawn trick stops working. _________________

I am now also playing Spider-Man Shattered Dimension's.
I bought it when it first came out and didn't like it very much.In fact the humour was about the only thing I liked about it.
Going back to it after not playing it for a a month or two, I am enjoying it a lot more.
I would still only give it about 7.2/10 but I don't hate it like before. _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

Well, I'm mostly looking for Gil (need 6 Trapezo's too). The thing is; I need it prior to Chapter 12, so I can't use that method now.
But I agree, farming Perfumes & Scarletites is probably a better way to get Gil if the Adaman(tor)toises won't frequently drop anything. I switched to that method when I was doing the Treasure Hunter trophy. Some might say getting Platinum Ingots is still the better way, but imo the method you mentioned is better for your sanity.

I am still hooked on Hot Pursuit, nothing compares to it. PHENOMENAL.
The only thing that stopped me was MUBI, an incredible cult/foreign film networkng application, payed and joined straight away and watched Von Trier (the Kingdom), WHOAH. _________________

The moves in Garou seemed too strong, you can kill your opponent in like three hits it's just weird. _________________

Still making my way through the wasteland of Fallout New Vegas. I'm enjoying this outing far more than Fallout 3. I think it's a combination of the plot, setting, characters, greater emphasis on RPG elements, but more importantly, that unlike Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas doesn't have empty locations. Everything on the map is there for a reason. None of this Oblivion-ism/Fallout 3-ism cave with nothing in it bs.

Spent some really good time with AC brotherhood over the weekend.
Brilliant game, so much stuff to do and am completley hooked once again on the enthrilling story of Ezio.
Love the little side quest of Christina aswel, realy shows you the evolvement of Ezio as a person and the backround info is more than welcome.
To put it simple this is my GOTY, yes I said ot.
Didnt think anything would knock of Mass Effect 2(although for me castlevania came close) but Brotherhood is stunning, so much variety and stuff to do that I am just lost in the game right now, was upto 2am last night and was basicaly falling asleep whilst playing it, I remember whilst things would load from the animus I would literaly lay down and give my eyes a well deserved rest, then once I heard the lovely sounds of Roma, I would spring up like a Jack-in-a-box!! _________________ Solid Snake is the shit

I'm playing through Dead Space again, and my God, it is still as good as ever. One of the best games of this generation as far as I am concerned. The atmosphere, the visuals and the gameplay are all top notch - only the story falters a bit towards the end. Brilliant game, and I can't wait for the sequel!
I also ordered Assassin's Creed II, and I plan to play it through before buying Brotherhood. _________________

Got International Cricket 2010 in the mail this week and jumped straight into it to get ready for the Ashes.
First impressions: absolutely surprised. It's not perfect, but it's such a dramatic improvement. The AI is much improved (no sixes on the first ball of a Test) and so far I've actually had to bat properly by building up my confidence, etc.
Once I get better it may be too easy like most other cricket games, but good fun so far.
