i negged you because you are arguing about something you haven't fully investigated....if you mean the touch my junk guy in that post, he stated that he was told to check the website regarding security measures at the airport. He states that he did check the website and it did not say there was a full body scanner at the airport. Upon arrival there was in fact one there....

Really? I didn't do my research? Maybe he didn't do his research. The Cleveland Hopkins airport website directs you to the TSA website, which states the following;
Q. If a passenger does not wish to be screened using advanced imaging technology, do they have options?
A. This technology is optional to passengers in the U.S. Passengers who opt out of imaging technology screening will go through alternative screening, including same-gender pat downs. Passengers flying to the U.S. from international destinations should check with the country from which they are flying regarding that nation’s policies. For more information on use of advanced imaging technology in the U.S., visit www.tsa.gov.
True, neither websites state what type of security devices are at the Cleveland Hopkins airport but if he was so concerned about it maybe he should have rang them directly and asked. He is the one that has concerns and beliefs against certain procedures and equipment so he should have performed his due diligence.
For the record, I wouldn't like someone cupping my balls but in such situations I can see why they would feel the need to.

Touché. I'm just emphasising that guy's 'don't touch my junk' comment. But if they were to, I get it.
Either way, when you get pat down, they *pat you down*. Think about it.

Same gender pat down doesn't accurately describe the process they were going to try to put him through really, does it?
Yes and i have been through plenty of pat downs that didn't involve that type of thing. _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill

I wouldn't be so against the whole procedure if they did. Geez, is a little ball work too much to ask these days? ... >_>
I'm in a self sustaining grumpy prick mood today - one of those deals where you're feeling a bit shit, which irritates you, which causes you to be generally snippy, which 'causes you to go 'but I'm just grumpy 'cause I'm feeling shit, best try not to take it out on others inadvertently', which causes you to get angry at yourself when it inevitably happens, and the whole cycle continues. Petty grievances and self loathing, part of a healthy diet. _________________

Isn't that what the whole plus/minus thing is for? To be able to express your agreement and disagreement with someone.
Yeah you're entitled to your own view but I can still neg you for it I disagree. _________________

I like to know why when I'm neg'ed. Since we are usually such a cheerful bunch here. That and I disagree with fetid's reason for the neg; It's not my place to double check some whiners story about getting felt up.
Whenever I've been pat down they go around *that area*. It's happened to me before in LAX and I didn't chuck a woobly like that guy.
"Don't touch my junk!" I bet if it was a chick doing the pat down he wouldn't have complained.

then it is not your place to comment on it either...
i can make plenty of assumptions about plenty of things, but i try to at least see what people have said first.
This is not said in anger, i am merely pointing out that if you are going to comment on this guy, read what was said.
And after you did, you came back with something more substantial. _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill

Uh, the point of the plus/minus system is to give a quick "I agree/disgree" without actually stating it. If you then have to explain your decision it kinda defeats the purpose of it.

I did read what he said (the first time), I just didn't feel the need to make a specific reference to it.
Did you double check his comment to make sure it was true? The TSA website details the security measures and equipment, he shouldn't have been surprised by the pat down if he did check it out.

oh really? I thought it was more about the quality of post. There are heaps of posts that I + even if I don't agree with the opinion expressed. I + because they make an interesting or insightful addition, or (my favorite) a dirty joke. _________________ Da Bessssss

Bloody Current Gen consoles and reliability issues.....
My 60gb PS3 smells likes it burning inside and it's fan is quite loud.
My 360 Pro (admittedly was like it when I received it) floating between RROD and no RROD, also loud fan.
My 120gb Slim having massive slowdown issues in games and menus.
Least my Wii still works (at least it did 6 monthst ago when I last turned it on.....)
PS2 FTW! _________________

Well, it's kind of evolved with the community, it's orginal inception came about not long after spoons came back into play. See you used to get spoons for each post you made, the plus/minus system was a way to prevent people from shamelessly spamming the boards to raise spoon count (when there were actual spoon auctions and the like).
Obviously these factors have changed in more recent times (and the whole system created it's own wealth of pointless posts) but ultimately that idea still stands, wherein you can use the plus/minus system as a way of approving or disapproving without clogging the boards with extraneous (I think that's in context) discussion.

So for the record, we've taken the 'don't touch my junk' conversation off the forums and now into my workplace. Tense.

Someone needs to create a song called "Don't touch my junk" and dedicate it to TSA.
As an aside a guy I work with was a bastard and bought this Complete Smashing Pumpkins box set thingie which includes a massive booklet in a little lunchbox thing.
Wish I'd seen it first.
