Of course, and I agree, but that would just leave us at what we have now. And of course I'm also assuming that those people in charge of airport security know how to show digression, you know, no reason to pat down a 2 year old because he was born in the Middle East and such. That might be asking too much though. I would also like to point out that I'm not recommending random racial profiling , simply if the person is from a area of interest and has refused any of the security processes and the authorities feel that they might be doing so for sinister reasons than they should hold them and proceed with whatever investigation they need to do. Is it unfair to those being targeted? Absolutely, but I think this is one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't situations.
Anyway, these issues really just put in to perspective how few liberties most people have. We in Australia are undoubtedly lucky but I can't help but feel that the freedom people are so quick to fight for is really just an illusion anyway, while we're mostly free to go where we want and do as we please within the confines of the law, the law is so mailable it could be written in sand. Governments tend to forget that they work for the people, ignore the wishes of the masses and do what they want, they seem to instate new laws or change existing laws even when they're strongly opposed and that takes away rights from the people they swore an oath to. While we're far from a 1984 scenario what scares me is that it's still not actually that far fetched an idea in today's world. 1984 is an extreme of course but I still feel that given todays level of networking it could be easy to give the population a chance to vote on large policy's rather than let a bunch of people so far detached from reality as politicians go about it themselves with free reign. Basically, the more authority that the people of a nation are given, the easier it is to steer the ship away from being powerless, Liberty's not in a gun, it's in a vote, and it's about time we got to vote on more than what knobhead gets to take power of the country for the next four years.
Talk about a tangent, sorry _________________

I would really love to see the people that 'don't want to be groped' maintain their views if a loved one of theirs was killed in an incident on a plane that could've been prevented by such security measures.
Oh it's cool, my wife was killed in a terrorist attack on a plane, but I'm ok with that because she didn't get groped at the airport.
So how do you go about maintaining your health? Is a prostate check out of the question when the doctor tells you that you might have cancer? I mean really where do you draw the line. The security people are just doing a job, and a job that I believe is necessary.
The world today sucks so bad because of all the pussy whining about every little liberty. People complain about crime, then they complain about police brutality when the cops smack someone in the head for being a piece of shit. People complain about equal rights for (insert minority here) to get what they want, but as soon as they are rejected they use (insert minority here) as an excuse and cry foul.
I wish I could be Australia's sheriff and just shoot people that are shit. Personally I absolutely hate cigarettes and think that most smokers are filthy and inconsiderate but I don't whine about it like my liberties are being opressed (I'm pretty sure I'm entitled to breathing clean air) I simply avoid it. Maybe you should avoid flying if you don't like the procedure.

completley unrelated to the current discussion.
It really bugs me when you decide you've had enough of an argument that seems to be going in circles so you decide to politley bow out of it, then along comes a new person into the discussion and spouts of completley uninformed irrational borderline offensive bullshit. But you don't want to respond directly as otherwise you'd just look like a hypocrite. So instead you come up with a patheticly transpernt way to indirectly comment on just how completley wrong the new persons post was while trying to pass it off as an unrelated complaint.
You know... hypothetically of course. _________________

I bet it wouldn't have exploded if the TSA had given it a thorough pat down before they let it board the forum...

ANYHOO...
Mafia 2 posters can go die in a fire. I have one left, I know where it is, I know how to get it, but I can't for the life of me do it. It wouldn't be so bad if every single other poster wasn't really frigging straightforward and required next to no effort other than standing next to it and pressing a button.

I assume posters are something you have to find ingame? I was trying to figure out why you'd have one actual poster left and not be able to get it. _________________

You collect them in game. The only one i have left requires driving off the freeway at 90+ miles an hour and colliding with a small chimney on top of a building to make you stop on the roof. Problem is the chimney is small, as is the roof, if you're not at the exact right angle you won't stay on, then you have to drive ALL the way back up (provided the crash doesn't kill you).
All the rest just involve running up to them and pressing a button, I don't see why they had to make this one so frigging annoying.

Along with the big obvious thing that's bothering me at the moment that doesn't need mentioning again... i'll share a little pet peeve..
People who cannot spell/say my name properly.. OMG its not hard. Joanne. Two syllables. Jo. Anne. Simple six letter word, two N's and an E on the end.
It's quite annoying how often people call me Joan -__-
or Joanna.. and these are not even people who I have only just met.
And for gods sake don't just shorten it to Jo either. THATS CHEATING. Again, its two syllables, I am sure it won't strain you too much. Joanne is a pretty name, I don't like Jo; that's not pretty, it's a butch sounding name.
Disclaimer: No offense meant to any Jo's who may be reading _________________

I've spent like 10 hours playing black ops after getting it yesterday and only just remembered this morning that i haven't played any of the fun, cool game modes yet. I completely forgot that there was the 1 in the chamber round, or the random weapon round. I COULD HAVE BEEN PLAYING COOL NEW STUFF AND I'VE JUST BEEN PLAYING FREE FOR ALL! >.< _________________

man when you pull onto the motorway I get that sometimes you can't do the speed limit immediately especially if you're a truck, so it's fine to take a couple of seconds to get up to the 90kph that's signed on the road.
Why the hell does everyone pull out and do 70 for the next 3 kilometers until I end up getting off the motorway every single god damm day? _________________

My favourite web show, ENN, has gone from weekly to bi-weekly.
I'm kind of depressed on three levels.
1. I always knew that ENN didn't have the nearly the popularity of Unskippable, but this just rammed it home. And I cannot for the life of me figure out why. ENN's been the most consistently funny show LRR have ever done, and it's... well, it's apparently not getting viewed.
2. Meanwhile, Zero Punctuation is still going strong despite not having been funny anymore in... I dunno, a year. And that's all I have to watch on a Thursday now.
3. Less ENN! I mean, geeze. That's all I need, isn't it?

Fffffuuu. 2 minutes into my 2.5 hour train trip and I am already surrounded by scumbags wearing cheap beer apparel, smell of nicotine/ weed and are constantly changing their ringtones on their 10 year old phone >_____> _________________

Trains would be awesome if you could buy a carriage all for yourself. Expensive, but I think it would be worth it.

My laptop broke a while back and it's STILL in the process of getting fixed. Luckily I can use one of the old desktops instead.
BUT then my xbox decides to stop working right as I finish uni. It's the typical RROD, but it's out of warranty. I could go buy a new one, but I'm not working right now, I'm going overseas in 3 weeks & I might be moving interstate next year anyway. _________________

Huge pet peeve of mine, too :P Granted, mine is harder to pronounce just by reading it off the page (I was very impressed with the blood bank caller yesterday who got it right straight away), but you'd think that after I explain how to pronounce it they'd get it right, it really isn't hard once you know how. Even my bf doesn't say it right, and I've known him for over 3 years, we've been going out for almost 2! Plus he laughs at me when I try to correct him >:( _________________

Well they're trying that 'quiet carriage' thing in brisbane. I stopped training shortly before it came in so I'm not sure how that's going.
Would have fucking killed for one when I was a regular train commuter.
[EDIT]
Also wow lots of hate for people getting names wrong.
I work on a phone and get called everything from Dennis, Ken, Kevin, I think I've even got Rob once. I consitently get Shamrock instead of Shambrook for my last name. At the end of the day I really couldn't care what I get called. I know what they mean. _________________

well when i was up there on holiday a few weeks back, i was like, oh cool, i will try out this quiet carriage......and they proceeded to announce every 2 minutes that the last carriage was now a quiet carriage and could you not use mobile phones or listen to music in there....totally defeating the purpose. _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. I don't get the negatives that bronson and I received for stating our views (or did you neg me Fetidchimp over the RROD comment? Still, I laugh every time I see someone elses 360 RROD, as mine did, cause it is the most unreliable device ever).
Ultimately, everyone here is entitled to their view regarding airport security. For those who do not agree with some countries current methods, then I ask you this, what do you propose instead?
