My big bro has an awesome Basketball shoe (and normal shoe) collection. It's to die for! icon_cool.gif He also collects various/many, many types of alcohol (all sealed) and that's to die for too...especially if you drank it all...which then you'll definitely be on your way to dying.

But, I must say my big bros. video game collection takes the cake, because it's huge (now over AU $100,000 worth) and more than deserves the title of, "Awesome!!!"
My big bro has nothing on this guy though...

I have a nice collection of SNES games, but I doubt it would compare to people like snesbits and snes_collector, who visits this forum every now and again

Sweet collection.

I definitely couldn't collect that many games. Too impatient to search for that stuff. $1,000 for an Atari game, fark - instant divorce.

That's why i stop collecting Older Games. The Rarer Games are always very costly. the most i have spend on a game is $400 for a Neo Geo Cart jap Version of Last Blade for my AES Console.

I was a chubby child.

As a result I have more or less every Tazo set in full known to man.

Loony Tunes – Cheeto Guy – Simpsons – SpaceJam… etc etc

*sigh*

Also when I was 12 I was an avid Pokemon blue player. As a result I slowly lost weight again due to pokemon cards not coming in packets of chips… I also got the first 4 or so complete sets.

Lost interest when they began to bring out ‘trainer sets’… ‘dark sets’… and then another 350 or so Pokemon…

Oh yeah – then I got fat again collecting Yowies. Stupid snack based fads.

Gargh… For those of you who ever wondered why a rural Victorian yob ended up in the Palgn community. Now you know...

This is my measly collection of Star Wars Books, at last count there was 166, plus 12 I just ordered from Book Depository icon_razz.gif.

I've also got about 50 360 games, but it pales in comparison to most collections.

You like my mate jay. He loves reading the Star Wars TPB's. How are the stories these days? I used to read alot Marvel Star Wars Comics back in the 80's. Any books you would recommend me to hunt down and read? i have been thinking about collecting some star wars trades.

I can't get enough of them, most of them are very well written. Stay away from the young adult book series like Jedi Apprentice, Jedi Quest, Last of the Jedi etc. They are good for filling the gaps, or if your collecting, but they're written for a younger audience and are churned out very quickly. If you want the full star wars experience read them, but if you just want to pick the surface on the good ones there is no need.

There's alot of new books coming out these days aswell suprisingly, I've got about 3 on pre-order. The writers are all very good, and I'm yet to come acros a book I haven't enjoyed more than other books I've read.

I haven't really read any of the clone wars novels yet, I'm going through chronologically, up to just before Attack of the Clones currently. I'd highly recommend the X-Wing: Rogue Squadron series over anything else though, they are excellent. Very well written, great character development, alot of depth etc. Other than that I've pretty much enjoyed all of them so far. Another one that stands out to me is Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter. Really really enjoyed that, infact I've read it twice. Its set almost straight before The Phantom Menace, and straight after the novel before it, Cloak of Deception, which is also very good, more of a political thriller than any other star wars books, which is not everyones cup of tea.

So yeah, X-wing Series and Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter would be my top picks if I had to choose, but the rest are also very good! Well worth reading if your serious about it and have the time.

EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Star_Wars_books this has all the books that are out, Its pretty much my bible haha. Currently I'm reading Outbound Flight.

This one is small, but I think it's awesome anyway:

This one is awesome because it's fluffy:

(I have more K-ON! figures coming and a lot of stuff that isn't figures so not on display, and a bunch more Pokemon plushies plus tons of other stuff, but I couldn't be bothered with more pics because everything is everywhere and my camera is running out of batteries.)

Linus. not Charlie Brown.

i don't really set out to collect things, but have ended up with some huge libraries of books and DVDs.

i like reading, so when i find an author i like, i tend to buy all the books he or she has written, or at least in a particular series.
i couldn't even guess how many books i have - hundreds, easily, thousands, probably. Book Depository hasn't helped stymie this obsession. icon_razz.gif

i did go through a DVD phase though, where i just bought DVDs all the time. last count i had over 1500 DVDs, some film doubles (same film, different editions - things like Donnie Darko cinematic and Director's Cut, Blade Runner Cinematic, Directors and Final cuts, and some were simply re-issues that i didn't remember owning initially) but fewer than you might think, but i haven't counted for a good 2-3 years now - not since i was unemployed and had time to count them anyway.
but then i haven't bought a DVD for 6 months or so. i eventually realised that probably 90% of what i own, was probably a waste of money - not necessarily in terms of whether or not i liked the film, but whether i needed to really own a copy.
thankfully, this obsession hasn't translated into Blu-Rays, i have a few, but really only films i consider core films, or i wait until they're stupidly cheap. (and there are a few i don't yet have, or aren't yet available, but will get when i can.)
easily 3/4 of my DVDs are currently boxed away now. this could be a reason for my losing interest in adding more, as when i had them shelved "on display", it was more fun adding a new one.

i am also a hoarder - so despite knowing on an academic level that i could get rid of some of my games, books or DVDs to pay for more, i simply can't do it.

oh - i guess i do have my Metal Gear collection. it's pretty paltry, as i only strive to have A copy, rather than all the CEs and SEs that came out in various countries before i had a job to support such things.

and then there's my collection of blood slides, but i won't go into that... icon_razz.gif

Haha yep its all in the link, like I said, its my bible icon_wink.gif . I've since adapted it into a working registry for all my books, so I can keep track of what I have, what I need, whats going to be hard to track down etc etc.

Rogue Squadron is set after Return of the Jedi, can't remember if its straight after or a couple of years. Either way its really interesting reading about how everything panned out after Death Star II was destroyed. It was all happy celebrating at the end of the movie but they weren't even close to winning! haha icon_lol.gif
