So I've finished AC 1 and 2, cannot wait for the third. So I see there is a new assassins creed coming out, ac brotherhood. My question is simple but I can't seem to find the answer. In brotherhood ac 3? And if not what is it and is it part of the story? _________________

Its a continuation of AC2, where it continues the events of Ezio's story a few years after end of AC2. I don't think they officially count it as AC3. But I'm really looking forward to it too, considering how awesome AC2 was and how much I enjoyed playing through Ezio's story.

Think of it as Assassins Creed 2 part 2.
Unlike some of the other Assassins Creed subtitles games, This is continuing the stories of both Desmond and Ezio, and would be considered Cannon. _________________

Basicaly the deal is the planned the game to have three parts each with a different assassin, but Ezio's story ended up being too big to fit in one game so it got split in half. First half is AC2, second half is brotherhood.
It's deffinatly part of the main story, and has heaps more of desmods story as well (Including action stages were you play as desmond) _________________

So is Brotherhood as big as the other two? I always thought of it as a mainly multiplayer game with a small single player campaign tacked on, that might be half the usual RRP or something. Might have to finally pick up AC2 and then this, seeing as I loved the first game.

I don't think it will be as big as AC2. This one is only in Rome. Also, their is multiplayer so Ubi will probably justify the lesser campaign to be due to multi. _________________

Rome is supposed to be the size of three venice's or something, also this game has a lot more to do as Desmond, finding old temples and exploring them and shit. _________________

I think this would be the perfect time to play AC2 if you haven't already. I thought AC2 was a dramatic improvement over AC1 in almost every aspect (some ppl like Altair better than Ezio, but AC2 had better mission variety, pacing, battle system, and more interesting dialogue). Its pretty cheap nowadays and plus you get to play ACB straight after you finish AC2 which would make alot of people (including me) jealous lol.

Yep. I couldn't believe the price when I saw it. Might as well get it now at this price than wait the 4 or so months to see it around $70 again (at a retail store). _________________

Wow, I had some store credit left over at EB so I ordered there, I'll definitely have to price match that though. _________________

I meant *literally* big. I really enjoyed those exploration/PoP inspired levels. _________________

I am pretty excited for this game, as well. I've read that this game's single player rivals that of AC2. Apparently it sort of wasn't their focus at first, but it eventually grew bigger and took on a life of its own, so it was a lot bigger than they had anticipated. That's probably just my words, though. I'm just looking to see if I can find any information about it now.
Here's a link toThe Ten Things to Know Before you Play Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, but I know that people don't want to see any spoilers, so enter at your own risk. I can't actually find anything about the length, but it's apparently in there for those who want to take a look. I did see this though: MORE COLLECTIBLES. Which people groaned about, and the response was pretty cool. Well, not cool as such, but better.
| Quote: | | Here's a hint - turn on Eagle vision and those items will now glow and get marked on your map making it easier to locate them. |
I guess they made ACB to get the most out of the series without having to make AC3, which I've been told was their initial goal of having a trilogy by respectable members of this forum.
I was so impressed with the second game after playing the first one that I think I wondered what I had been ignoring this entire time. I just thought it was some assassin game, but didn't really take much notice in it or the layered storyline. But at the same time, I'm glad I didn't have to wait so long to get the next installment.
For some zany reason I've bought the Auditore Edition. I know ... I mean, it looks nice and all, but I could have probably taken the Big W route, too. But oh well! I have no regrets, really.
I can't wait to play this, especially after the credits of AC2. They were so good and left you wanting more. Frustrating, but exciting at the same time. _________________

I'm totally buying this from Big W, I didn't actually realise it followed the storyline I thought it was predominantly just a MP diversion. Now I definitely want it.

I didn't think this was going to continue the story though? AC2 kind of wrapped things up from a 2 -> 3 sense I thought?
I was not going to bother with this game but it sounds like I may have to in order to enjoy 3 at it's fullest. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Well the outside story from what I can tell is Desmond kicking around raiding tombs to try and find the a piece of eden that was left somewere, and I think the ezio story is to facilitate finding the piece of eden.
I'm still hoping AC 3 is Desmonds game. _________________

After getting some hands on time with it briefly a while back - i was told that it is about the same amount of time to go through brotherhood (if you do all the temples/crypts) as AC2 - possibly even more so if you really get into it.
The SP is defiantly a must play from a story pov because it is going to advance Desmond's story greatly with him learning and training in the real world much more now and you are most likely going to need to play this in order to get set for AC3.
Even the MP has some story aspect to it - at least at the start at any rate. There is a story purpose involving Abstergo relating to the MP (won't spoil it). So MP is worth a go as well.
Really looking forward to this.

Has to be. I always thought AC3 would be set in the present time with you playing as Desmond. _________________ Shin J Leon.

The only thing I'm wondering about is so much of the basic game mechanics is based on the Animus, (Enemy targeting, health/synchronisation, the whole it not mattering if you die thing) that I wonder how they'd pull it off outside of the Animus. _________________

Well Brotherhood was at least still had the majority developed by Patrice Desilets, him leaving has me worried about AC3. _________________
