I'm saddened and surprised that Resident Evil 4 is not in the charts, even though it was only out 2 shopping days over the period. It is vastly superior to every single game in the top 10.
Also, does EA have a vice like grip on the Australian charts? Even san andreas gets EA some cash per unit (Since it was built on Criterion's renderware licence, and EA bought Criterion last year)

After checking those charts I was going to post the same thing as you D.Lo, where the hell is Resident Evil?
Maybe it will do better with the standard edition.. _________________

Would have been nice if Nintendo advertised such a big name, non kiddie game that is a friggin good play. RE would be the sort of game that could show some 'casual' gamers Gamecube isn't the kids toy many think it is.
Hell, with the price of the GC now days some people would probably guy a GC just for RE4. But even I, the RE and Nintendo fan I am was had the game sneak up on me. _________________

........Mainly since it was No1 in the US for 3 weeks, and the No1 selling game of last month in the US.
But no, we'd rather buy the sims, sims porn:the mansion and anything else EA tells us to.
Oh well, the game is so good I don't care. It truly is incredible in every way. Best looking graphics ever by quite a margin, so interactive, so mysterious, so different, so FUN, so violent, so realistic, so likeable, so classy, so perfect, so polished.........I could go on! The only reason I'm not playing it right now is that I'm doing overtime at work!

yeah i'd also like to know who buys these Sims games?
Playboy was always a game that was going to sell well for a week cos people like teh b00beys, but the sims?
every shop i go into with games has mountains of sims games instock, thats why they're number 1 all the time, EA simply ships more and more to the sellers...
bah... i hate EA... yet i'm forced to buy them since they own my favourite franchises... _________________

Since that I searched two shopping centers for a non-EB copy of RE4 and couldn't find one (not because they sold out, but because they didn't order stock), I'm not at all surprised it's not in there. It's a real shame.

1. You pretty much can't buy RE4 anywhere other than EB games and some Toys'r'us outlets.
2. Virtually no one owns a Gamecube anymore and no one wants to buy one for this game, even though it rocks to high heaven ... _________________

How can no-one own a gamecube "anymore"? They've sold 150,000 GCNs in this country Where did they go?

Nintendo Gnomes took 'em.
I used to work at EB and you know who buys the Sims? Girl. Yes, that's right, the fairer sex is the root of all EA evil. _________________

i'm going to Perth's largest shopping centre today, out of interest i'm going to take a survey of the stores that stock/sell GC's, and in particular, RE4...
despite me being one of the non-buyers, the lack of it in the top-ten intrigues me...
as for The Sims:
yeah i know females are the major buyers/players of them (i think i read it was somewhere around 70% of all Sims players are female) but still, when you look at the number of units left on the shelves at game stores, it's not hard to realise that our "sales charts" are actually "shipping charts"
if you are still unconvinced, head to an EB during the 2 for $50 sale and see how many Sims units are on that table... at the 3 i've had a look at, i'd say about half the stock in the 2 for $50 area are Sims related...
Australia really needs to get a new method... although how to do that i have no idea... _________________

Depends, when I worked at EB we sometimes got as many as 10 copies of the Sims a day. It was the sort of game that would get good sales the first day but keep on keeping on even months after it came out. Even if there are lots there, doesn't mean they haven't sold a shit load previously. _________________

ok well like i said i was going to, i undertook a survey of stores at WA's largest shopping centre (Carousel) to see who stocked GC games, and in particular, Resident Evil 4...
ok, well Carousel only has the following stores that stock games of any platform:
Myer (PC, PS2 and XBox only)
Kmart (All)
Target (All)
Sanity (Consoles only)
IN2 Music (Consoles Only)
EB (All)
Game Traders (All)
plus across the road there is:
Harvey Norman (All, surprisingly... it's the only HN i know of with nintendo gear)
Toy's R Us
JB Hifi (PS2 and Xbox only)
so, which stores didn't have RE4 in stock?
Myer (non nintendo stockist)
JB Hifi (non nintendo stockist)
Sanity (which have a shit collection of all consoles... only the platinum games)
IN2 Music (which have a shit collection of all consoles... only the platinum games)
and EB... and that was because they had sold out...
every other store had at least 1 copy of RE4 CE (well, the outer shell anyway) on shelves... and they still aren't in the top ten...
pretty odd i thought... _________________

Someone who I knew worked in EB once and he said that the majority of GC consoles that he sold were to Asians who were taking them back home.
I also know a large amount of people that since buying their GC consoles, traded them in not long after.
Even if 150 000 Cubes are out there, how many more PS2's and Xbox's are there?
Speaking of this, people are probably holding out for the PS2 version of RE4, just like they are in Japan.
