how do you make an eb guy angry? ask him to price match the harvey norman preorder for World of Warcraft Cataclysm.

After a couple of minutes of excuses why they couldnt do it, some weird hypothesis of the direction harvey norman is trying to take with their gaming division and a request to keep the catalogue i brought in as evidence, he refused to match it, until he got some verification of a better price from his supplier and would only match it on release day.

Poor form buddy, i just got my refund, went to harvey norman and went to pay the full amount and the girl said I only had to give her $4 payment up front.

so:

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - $38 - if you dont get it from harvey norman, you're paying too much. and dont ever buy a game from EB Games Brookside again, that guy is a tool.

I've bought a few things recently but with working so much I haven't found the time to post them here.

Borderlands on 360. I know I'm late to the party on this one but it really is a good game. One of my friends was telling me about it and so I picked up a pre-owned copy with staff discount from work and am very happy I did.

Fallout: New Vegas. Not terribly impressed so far but I'll have a decent sesh with it soon to see if it wins me over.

Fable 3. Man this is such an awesome game! Am keen to give it a second run through, but after a weekend of just playing it I do need a rest.

4 x Tool tickets to Melbourne February 2nd Show. The best purchase of them all. My husband is a huge fan along with his brother and our friend, and I love them too. So he got in on the fan club pre-sale and after a while of confusion we managed to get some stall seats three rows from the front! So we're pretty excited, February can't come quick enough!

hmm there's a street fighter 15th anniversary arcade stick at my local cashise for $99. it's for original xbox / ps2. most of my fighting games are on 360 though… i'd probably be better off saving for a 360 arcade stick yeah?

Yeah man, if you actually want to use it, get a 360 stick... But if your collecting, that SF one could be worth picking up.

On the topic of 360 sticks, some of them have weird ass button layouts that need reprogramming for most games so watch out for those.

is that hard to do? anyone recommend anything?

both the ones you guys bought appear to be for ps3.

i have an original modded xbox that has lots of older fighting games i could use it with i guess, but i own real copies of most of them on megadrive / snes. i guess i'll see if the price drops otherwise i'll stick to 360 i guess.

Call of Duty: Black Ops (standard edition) - $200

Heh wanted it at midnight launch, work doesn't do midnight launch/wouldn't give it early so bought it at EB tonight for $119.95. Taking it back to EB tomorrow as I've fully paid a preorder at work.

So in the end it will cost me $56 from work including a gift card from Rentsmart.

Not exactly sure what to think of it at the moment, been playing for 4 hours and it is certainly loads of fun and much better than MW2, the stats sections alone are amazingly detailed and not to mention Theatre mode so so far so good. Guns are a lot more balanced however spawns are fucking stupid at times (just from whoring TDM to rank up haha), completely random and never not getting shot in the back.

And it'll cost whoever buys it from EB $120 for a used copy. I really find it hard to respect people who do this just because they can't wait a couple of days or even a few hours.
